A brother in law wakes up a basilisk.

~ The basilisk opened his eyes to take in the night around him with a gurgling sigh. His bedroom had the pale glow of a enchanted slaying weapon, his arm was resting in the spot of his bed where his wife wasn't, and silence from his alarm radio indicated that it wasn't yet time to get up for work. In a voice unmotivated, "I'm not some demon that took your sister.", tumbled out the jagged tone of words to the brother-in-law that he knew was in the room.

~ For a few seconds, there was a lack of reply in the moments provided by the basilisk.

~ With a bubbly growl that bordered on a groan, the basilisk brought his arm up to punch the hilt of the sword currently pinning him in bed. The blade, in the manner of what he'd expect his brother-in-law to be able to afford, snapped in the several places under this and the momentum of the basilisk rolling up and onto his feet. Most of the pieces clattered about the room, whisps of the glowing white light lingering where they'd fallen. Stealth having apparently failed and surprise to be of no worth, the attacker seemed to melt a bit in his posture while the unclothed basilisk rose from a tangle of sheets and blades.

~ "If there was a way to bring Jessica back, I tell that I would grind the stars to powder and lift the oceans deep.", some squareness of the basilisk's shoulder's faltering as he softened into a slouch, "Death doesn't return my calls."
