#19 of Joined in Mind and Body
A bit of a change in pace in this tiny installment. Information for everybody to go by and shameless advertisement!
"IT'S HERE!" Serina exclaimed, sailing into the room. Shi waved the box with great vigor, almost whacking Andrew in the head with it.
"Hey, careful trus!"
"Sorry..." shi said, ears laying back. "Where's Kit?" Shi sniffed at the air briefly before ranging mentally to find hir target at his computer as usual. "Computer room," shi announced, then bounded off with Andrew tailing close behind.
"It's here!" shi announced again as she came up behind Kit.
He spun in his chair and blinked up at the Kat, frowning. "Did you just steal my mail again?"
Serina fidgeted. "Well... this time it really IS the book. I checked."
Kit shook his head. "I still swear you're going to get bumped into one of these days if you're not careful." He accepted the box from the Kathari and looked it over. "This wouldn't have fit in the mailbox," he said.
"Well, yeah, it was in the office."
"I won't ask how you managed to get it. They sign things out."
"I pretended to be you!" Serina exclaimed happily. Shi demonstrated by forming a shield around hirself to hide, then modifying the light on the outside to look like him.
Kit winced. "Just don't go getting me in trouble." He sliced the tape on the box.
Serina reappeared as hirself and fuzzled Kit's hair. "Love ya too much to do that, Kit-l'es."
Andrew chuckled from the doorway. "How's the book look?"
Kit examined the cover and the inside pages. Serina bent over to peer at the cover of the open book. "Looks odd, but I like it," she observed.
Kit shrugged. "It's cover art. It never looks exactly like anything in any book." He closed the book and offered it to Serina, who took it happily and flipped through it. "It looks good though. Makes it easier for folks to have a copy to enjoy away from the computer."
"I like it," Serina said again, handing the book to Andrew. He took it and looked it over as she accosted Kit. "So now we just need to let people know. Why don't you write something for that site about it? Then people can find out and get the book too if they want it."
Kit nodded. "Well, I guess I could do that. I'll write a little story about this scene here even. Give me the details from before you came into this room." He spun his chair back around and faced the computer, but was promptly interrupted as Serina slipped hir arms around him and slid hir paws into his pants. "Hey! How am I supposed to write this?"
"Fast, before I ravage you delightfully in celebration of your book," shi purred in response, fondling him. But shi did give him the details and he typed quickly as he could through the distractions.
"There," he announced, panting softly. "Just over a page. Fast enough?"
"You just need to let them know where they can go to get it, then post it. And then you are soooo mine," Serina exclaimed.
