Could you say Goodbye?
Kai looked at his bag again. Food, water, money and some personal belongings. Just enough to get him to Santos city.
"One more look though.." Kai thought before letting his eyes wonder around his bedroom.
They drifted towards the three scythes on the wall opposite of his bed. Kai tried, but he only could remember how he had gotten one of them. He cringed at remembering how much trouble they had caused. Oddly enough, they have been deathly quiet this past year.
Shaking his head, Kai picked up his bag and left the room. He looked down the hall and entered the bedroom next to his. It used to be a guest room but now functioned as storage. The memory of his best friend instantly found it's way to Kai's mind. She had stayed here for a few days. It was only a short time but Kai valued it anyway.
Closing the door behind him, bitter-sweet nostalgia surged though Kai. The whole back of the door was covered in photos. Kai looked over them, everyone he has ever called a friend was there.
Kai fell to his knees and looked up to the photos with moist eyes.
There was the photo he took of Grey and Sky. Her blush was well hidden, but still visible. Next to it was the photo of himself and Kathrin. A small, barely noticeable, smile crept across Kai's muzzle when he remembered how she nearly freaked when he pecked her on the cheek as a joke.
Another photo that Kai's eyes drifted towards was a picture of him and Kohaku at the lake's shore. She had dozed off and somehow ended up using Kai's arm as a pillow. He was glad that he snagged a photo of it before Ko woke up. Though, that didn't save him from the awkward silence when she did wake.
There was one particular group of faded pictures caught Kai's attention. He stood and took a look closer. He couldn't believe it. Right there in front of his eyes were three photos of his brothers. One was him and his older brother Dante. Another showed himself holding Lucrio's egg. The last was him and Crusade as Riolus, smiling. Days before the accident.
