That place where we met
#3 of Writers Group Challenge
Hi all! hope everybody have a nice week! Here's a new prompt of Tayu's group with the words: "Waiting for the bus" Enjoy reading it and remember you are free you critic anything you want of the story!
It was the first day of school and I was waiting alone for the bus. The day was gray, wet and a cold wind was blowing. Then I saw her, a walking sun, a little deer with two long braids and pale skin, got close to the bus stop, like a silent ghost with a pink dress. In that moment something warm woke up in my chest. Should I talk her? Maybe isn't a good idea, she looks shy and with my height maybe she run scared... better I stay here, after all we can see us every day.
And every day I saw her, waiting the bus, close to me. Is there something wrong with enjoy the presence of someone? I should ask to my mom... don't want to be one of those stalkers that show the tv... but she is look so sweet... today I heard her cough, it was like a illness creature, soft and weak, maybe is the weather, autumn is beginning and better to take care of this cold winds.
Today one friend told me her name, she is Anita and have one year less than me and is new in the city. Her family move here for some kind of medical issues, it's normal that the people of little towns come to the city, here we have everything! Even color papers, i love to work with them. Maybe I should make her something pretty... a pencil holder maybe...
This thursday she didn't appear, the cold wind was blowing merciless and the few guys waiting in the stop got very very close to kept the warm, I would love that she were there, close to me, maybe like that I can tell her how much I love her hair, her braids and present myself: "Hi! I saw you many times here, waiting the bus like me. I have a big cookies bag here and I was wondering if you want to share them while we wait the transport"
I saw her today in the playground, with a scarf around her neck and covering the mouth, she was separated from the group, looking at the other children like she was wishing something. Anita, what are you looking? What they have that you need so much? None of them have that soft and pale skin that you dress or that perfect braids that only god know how much time it take you to keep. Come on Anita, you have nothing to envy to those city guys, cause the wildflower shine more between the green meadows than the grass that cover it. Trust me, I know it cause every morning in that stop with you make me feel like if I'm the tiny child, with you, having many heads over me.
Thursday again! and you are not here... I hate thursdays. My mom told me that is normal your shyness, children are shy and it's fine. I just tell you that it's fine to be shy, I was like you when we came to this city with my mom, we left our country cause mom don't had work then grandpa gave us two tickets for travel here and we spend a lot of time in a big house, my mother got work there with the sewing machine. It was fun because we sleeped with a lot of people from our country in the same room, the bad thing was that we could not go outside to play.
Anita, today I heard your teacher talk about you, she told that you were awesome, that you learn really fast and that she need all her will to had you in her classroom, I think she admires you, like me! You are so cool Anita! Maybe you are some kind of genius and that's why you are so shy. I hope you won't be one of those prodigy child, I heard they go to special schools in the capital city and that is very far from here and I'm still gathering the valor for say hi. Nu nu, you better stay and build rockets here, I can help you, I'm really good building things, the art teacher could tell you, I only got tens.
Today the teacher showed us how to make a letter! I'll try to get some stickers and ask help to my mom for make you an awesome letter! Hope you like the dinosaurs, they are the cheaper in the store, but don't worry! they are really cool and if you put them a bit of glue can reuse them in your notebook!
It's been three months since the last time I saw you in the bus stop. I spoke with your teacher and she told me that you were ill and can't come to class. The winter colds are dangerous, it must be... I'm sure you look like Rudolph with your red nose... I miss you and hope you come back soon, the letter is waiting you! Aaaaand it have a surprise! With all this time I gathered enough money to buy you an extra pack of stickers! It's inside the letter!
I asked the teacher your number and spoke with your mom, she told me that you are not more here, she told me that it was cancer and that now you are better but I can't see you again but the next day I saw her in the school and gave her the letter. She gave me a big hug, your mom is beautiful! I asked when I can see you again but she said nothing, she looked sad, that cancer must be like a super cold, don't worry Anita, just rest a lot and drink water, that's what my mom always say.
Hope you be fine and have been able to read the letter, I think I wrote wrong my name, It's Gustavo and will be waiting always for you in the bus stop that we meet the first time, come back soon, now all the days are thursday.
