Art of Madness
Hello everyone, I must apologize for the huge delay. I'm going through the serious case of writers block that I can't seem to shake off but i will continue post here and there. My editor and good friend
helped me come up with the idea of this story and may become another potential series down the road, depending on what everyone thinks of it.
Sit back, Relax and ENJOY!!!!
“Your tears are to be expected my dear, every cut I make, every vein I open up is for you. The pain you feel is for something far greater." I mused as my surgical scalpel slowly slashed her inner thigh, blood freely flowing down her fur. “Once I g-get these restraints off….y-you will regret this." The young coyote hissed. Even after all this torture, she still has some fight left which i couldn't help but snicker at her contorted face.
“If that's what keeping you from losing consciousness then by all means, hold on to that dream with all of your might." I responded with absolute glee, grabbing onto her muzzle and forcefully turning it towards the left. “The rest of the group however don't seem to share the same views as you." That ferocious look the coyote had quickly vanish and turned to horror as she saw all 3 of her closest friends no longer moving, a untold number of cuts covered their bodies.
“Your driver's license says that You're 18 years old, a organ donor, oh I see that you have a photo of one of your soulmate here as well. I'm guessing that he's that boy over there correct?" I asked while casually jamming my blade deep into her arm. This time the coyote screamed as more blood gushed from the wound, some landing on my face. I used my finger to touch the warm substance before licking it off with my tongue. “It doesn't matter what species you are, what color your skin is, your nationality or even the religion you devote yourself to, The Scarlet King embraces all." I yelled, backhanding the woman across the face so she wouldn't pass out on me.
A full hour had pass, her screams long ceased with a puddle of blood surrounding her suspended corpse. I tried to keep them all alive long enough for them to see him but alas, their young bodies weren't up to par with my techniques, such a pity. As I went on to wash my hands in the nearby sink, I was engulfed in a flash of white light.
“FREEZE! Hands up in the air now!" A masculine voice boomed from behind. I instinctively did as he command, rising both my hands above my head. “Hello officer, I wasn't expecting anyone to come all the way o-."
“Shut up you son of a bitch!" He shouted while I slowly turned around to a human male that looked to be around his early 30s. He stood half a foot shorter than me but was well built despite his size. “Haven't your mother taught you not to be rude to people?" I asked, a smile creeping over my face, My heart was racing from all this excitement that I didn't notice myself slowly shuffling towards him. “I SAID FREEZE ASSHOLE!" The man warned but I wasn't fazed at the slightest.
“You seem like someone who's worthy to see him. Someone who can last longer than these fools. Why don't we find out?" I said as he stepped back before cursing to himself. A loud Bang echoed throughout the abandoned warehouse as he pulled the trigger without hesitation. I felt the bullet burrow inside my stomach, coming out the other side. Adrenaline was rushing all over my body as I dashed forward, grabbing hold of the handgun before he had the chance to fire again. “It'll take more than that to bring me down!" I growled, punching him in the face with all my strength. The officer stumbled back and falls to the floor, letting go of his gun in the process.
“Fu-fuck! Request back up at 2223 west wash-." I unloaded the rest of the magazine onto the man. He fell to the ground with a heavy thud, multiple holes spread across his body. “You would of lived much longer if haven't have shot me." I hissed, checking the wound that was inflicted upon me. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would but I still needed to treat it as soon as possible.
Time was no longer on my side as police sirens could be heard closing in on my location. Five people dead by my hands and yet none of them were able to see him and his magnificence. I could remember every second of it, when that bomb went off and took out the convoy, when every nerve of my being screaming as hot shrapnel burned into my flesh. I remember myself begging for the sweet release of death but found none. That was when I saw the Emperor of darkness, having the voice of a billion infinitesimal insects all singing indescribable song.
A few more minutes until they arrive, more than enough time to leave behind his presence. I grabbed a handful of blood from all of my victims and walked towards a nearby wall to paint. My hands moved as if they were in a trance, taking care not to make any mistakes. “Mmmm yes. That's it." I said to myself as I made the final strokes, taking a step back to bask in my work. “The world will soon know of your pain my king." I whispered before taking my leave, exiting through the backdoor that lead to a back alley.
The air feels thin tonight.
