Home Cooked Dissappointment (Otherwise Untitled)
#79 of Short Stories
A gryphon realizes the folly of his own culinary skills while his room mate, the better cook, is out of town.
~ The gryphon stared down at his table, trying to figure out how he felt about the plate of noodles, garlic, and beans. The entire assembly smelled strongly of the fresh garlic he'd fried up, the boiled noodles not holding much odor about themselves and whatever aroma the beans had to offer was presumably expended on its way into the can. "It's all kind of the same color.", noting to himself as he nudged some of the black-eyed peas about with his fork.
~ Glancing up to the key rack to confirm, his husky room mate was still out of town to visit family. "Chuck loves to cook. I..", the gryphon looked back down to the plate, "..cooked this." His crest dropped down, tucking lower than his ears. "I should ask for lessons."
