Gabe slowly woke as the morning suns rays reached his face, a beam of light landing on one of his closed eyes, causing the young wolf to groan slightly.
Trying to resist the urge to open his eyes, afraid that what beautiful thoughts and feelings he had last night, afraid they was all a dream. Soon he opened his eyes looking at the lovely white Jackal that laid beside him, her muzzle holding a soft smile, her bare chest rising and falling with each breath she took.
"So, it wasn't a dream." he whispered to himself as he watched her for a short time before he got up, stretching slightly, then picking up his cloths and putting them on. He moved to the opening of the cave, looking out across the sea of sun backed sand...his jet black fur shining slightly from the morning rays. A soft yawn caused one of his ears to twitch before he turned around to see Tal' slowly sit up.
"Morning." he said softly, causing her to look at him.
"Morning." she replied before standing up, ignoring her clothing that lay upon the ground before walking up to the wolf, putting her long, slender arms around his neck, leaning up to place a soft kiss to his lips. "I had such wonderful dreams last night...how about you?"
"Yes. I did. And I thought I was still dreaming when I woke up." he snickered softly after returning the kiss.
"So...where do we go now?" she asked while looking up at him, her eyes watching him carefully while she softly scratched the back of his neck with her claws.
"Well...because I have done my work I have been given. We head back to the states." he replied while placing his paws upon her back, watching as she smiled brightly, her long tail whipping behind her.
"Really? I've heard a lot about America, but never thought I would get to see it." she giggled "Is it pretty there?"
Gabe laughed softly while giving a slight nod. "In some places yes...its all a matter of taste I guess."
He softly patted her on the hip with a paw. "Come on, lets pack this stuff up so we can go." he stepped past her, moving to roll up the sleeping bag as he slightly watched her put on what little bit of clothing she had; once more. His eyes moving over her long, slender, yet well toned legs. He made a mental note to get her some good cloths when they got to the airstrip.
Soon Tal' moved over to help her mate by putting the portable cooker back in the metal case, before taking it to the green Land Rover that waited outside.
Once everything was loaded, they both got in and headed off to the south leaving a trail of dust behind them. The ride was long, but time was passed by due to the questions Tal' had asked him...most of them was about America and what could she do. He was about to answer one of her questions before something caught his eye, making him stop the SUV and get out slowly while picking up a pare of binoculars and slowly searching the dunes.
"What's wrong?" Tal' asked as she watched.
"I thought I saw something." he replied; still looking around before quickly returning to a spot he passed over, seeing a row of jeeps and trucks heading toward them. "Shit!" he growled while getting back in the SUV. "Looks like we got company."
"Who.?"
"Raiders. Seams they aren't very happy about me taking back the Cats Eye that was stolen from the museum four days back." he replied while pushing the accelerator to the floor making all four tires send up a spray of sand.
"Who are you truly.?" Tal' asked while glancing back at the group of jeeps coming over one of the sand dunes, then back to Gabe.
"I'm a Agent from the FBI. I was asked to retrieve the item and return it." he spoke while reaching in the back seat, pulling a large bag closer before pulling the zipper to the side, reveling a small cache of weapons and TNT. "I hope this don't change how you feel about me." he looked at her...soon smiling when she shook her head.
"No, it don't. What do you wish me to do.?"
"Just load the empty clips in the bag." he replied, pulling a Uzi from the bag and loading a round in the chamber while Tal' set to work loading the spare clips for what was a RPK-74; a variant of the Aks-74u using 7.62x39mm rounds.
Soon a rattle of machine gun fire sounded faintly behind them as bullets smacked into the rear of the vehicle, one round hit the windshield right in the center, causing a web of cracks to spread out along the glass. Gabe growled slightly while returning fire in short bursts, causing sparks to fly from the front of one of the jeeps.
He watched as the gunner spoke to the driver, clearly yelling as they gained on the small SUV. Soon he heard the moon roof open and looked to see Tal' stand up in the opening with the assault rifle before firing, the sound of brass rolling on the roof could barely be heard over the gunshots before she moved back down quickly.
"Big gun.!" she spoke in near a squeak, causing him to look back seeing a truck pull into the middle of the group with a heavy mounted machine gun in the back.
When he seen the truck, he pushed the peddle down harder, making the Land Rover almost top out in speed as the gunner in the truck opened fire, sending molten lead into the back of the SUV, ripping the already damaged sheet metal into shreds and shattering the tail lights. He made Tal' get down in the floorboard while he removed a bundle of TNT that was strapped together and fitted with a timed fuse from the bag, setting the timer. He then casually dropped the bundle out the window with a grin, as a few seconds later a wall of flames erupted from under the raiders truck as it went off, sending the truck soaring into the air before coming down on top of a jeep behind it.
"Got ya." Gabe snickered as the SUV flew off a high dune, landing hard in the sand, causing the shocks to bottom out, making the rover shutter slightly as he brought it back up to speed and finally leaving there pursuers behind until they gave up the chase.
Slowly Tal' moved back into the seat, looking at him slowly before speaking. "So. Where are we going?"
"There's a city not far away from here with a jet on its way back stateside." he replied while looking once more behind them, not seeing any more trouble. He slowly eased up on the gas while looking at her slowly. "You okay?"
Slowly Tal' gave a nod in reply. "Yes. Although I've not had this much fun since I was a pup." she giggled while looking down to the RPK-74 in her lap.
The rest of the trip passed without any more trouble as they soon entered the city, and the small SUV got looks from various people and animals. Sighing slightly; Gabe turned down a street that led to the airport.
Bypassing all standard ways of entering the area, he was aloud to drive into the fenced area where he parked inside a small hanger that housed a small jet that was clearly Government used. Stopping the Land Rover, Gabe stepped out, followed by the white jackal as two agents stood outside the jet, waiting.
"How was your mission, Sir?" spoke one of the agents; a Elderly Dingo with graying fur.
"It was an accomplishment. The Cats Eye is on its way back to its rightful owner." he replied before looking to a young man who stepped up to them.
"What about your friend?" the man asked.
"She's with me. Is the jet ready?" Gabe replied, quickly changing the subject. The last thing he needed was for the new guy to ask why he was brining along a half nude jackal.
"Uh...Yes sir. The jet is fully fueled and ready." replied the dingo as he watched Gabe step toward the lowered steps that led onboard the small aircraft, followed by Tal'.
Slowly the dingo looked to the human who started speaking.
"Man, Did you see all that gold and jewels on that girl...and what she was wearing.? Looks like something from the old movies on ancient Egypt."
"Well I've know Gabe since he started in the agency...I'm not about to judge him now. Come on, before your mouth digs your grave." the Dingo replied with a snicker as he stepped aboard the jet with the younger agent following.
Gabe had moved to the private part of the jet where he let Tal' try out various clothing. Since the agency also had women in there ranks, there was no shortage of styles. Soon Tal' had settled for a pare of tight fitting blue jeans and a short green tank top.
"How do I look?" she asked while turning around for him in a sexy way that caused him to swallow hard.
"You look beautiful." he replied with a nod, knowing he would have to keep a close eye on her. God knows she would start a riot if she was in a dress. He got them both a drink before he sat down in a chair near the window, looking at her as she sat down across form him. "We got some time to kill so lets relax and enjoy the flight."
He smirked as Tal' gave a soft nod, settling back in her seat with a murr. She then looked at him slowly.
"Why did you decide to become a agent?"
The question kind of caught him off guard but he laughed softly. "My father was an agent...and so was his father. You could say its like a family job."
"Like me." she added in softly.
"Well..." he thought for a bit, before giving a nod. "In a way yes. I wanted to follow in the steps of my father. Not too mention I've always wanted too see the world." he spoke softly while looking to the window, the clouds passing by with soft breaks in between to let the view of the sea through. "My work has taken me all over the country and all over the world...from China to Turkey, from Russia to Brazil. North, South, East, West and everywhere in between." he chuckled softly before looking to her.
Slowly she gave a nod, watching him with great interest. "You are Nomadic in a way?"
Slowly he gave a nod in reply.
"So in a way you are just like us." she giggled softly. "We are so much alike; you and I. The Gods must have willed for this too happen...too make our paths intertwine together and bring us as one."
She then moved to sit next to him, keeping close as she rested her head against his shoulder, closing her eyes and soon slowly falling asleep. Gabe smiled, holding her close as he let her sleep, soon falling asleep himself.
He woke up later to the beeping telephone on the table. He then got up slowly, laying Tal' down softly as too not wake her before he moved to answer the phone. "Hello?"
"Mr. Cross.?" spoke a voice on the other line.
"Yes."
"I got word that you completed your mission."
"Yes sir, Keller. The jewel is on its way back to the museum in Bahrain. How the jewel got that far away from there is beyond my comprehension. Maybe there's something more going on I think." Gabe replied as he looked back at the sleeping jackal.
"Maybe so...but you need a rest. I'll have the reports filed for you when you get in and a escort will be waiting for you at the entrance of the airport." Keller replied with a chuckle. "What else can I do for my best agent.?"
"Well...there's one thing."
"Name it...anything."
It was Gabe's turn to laugh softly. "Don't make the others jealous okay."
Keller laughed before speaking. "Deal. Good work Mr. Cross."
"Thank you sir." he replied before hanging up. He then turned to look at Tal' before moving from the room and to the cockpit, stepping into the small cockpit. "What's our ETA?"
"About half an hour." replied the pilot as he looked back to the wolf.
"Good. I can't wait to get home and treat my girl to a night on the town." he smirked as he patted the young mans shoulder before walking back to the private area. As he stepped into the room he saw Tal' standing by one of the windows, looking out at the sea that gave way to patches of green and brown, then cities. Slowly he walked up to her, stepping behind her to take her softly in his arms, he held her close to him as he rested his muzzle upon her shoulder. "We'll be home soon."
"Will the people in this country like me?" she asked softly as she placed her paws upon his.
Gabe snickered softly and nipped at her ear. "Sure they will. What's not to like about you.? You're stunning...sheer perfection at its best." he replied softly, causing her to giggle softly.
"I have a question to ask you...if its not out of line." she asked softly.
"Sure...what is it love?"
"What's your full name." she asked him while turning to face him now.
"Gabriel Z. Cross." he replied.
"What dose the Z stand for?"
He blushed slightly as he lowered his head. "Zacharias." he then looked at her "My mother was Christian...a god fearing woman. She felt as if she was blessed by God with my birth."
"Why?" Tal' asked with a tilt of her head, watching him move backwards toward the wall.
"My mother and father was both snow white with blue eyes." he leaned back against the wall slightly, looking at her with a smile. "Well I know the first test now is to bring you home to my family. Shouldn't be any problems." he gave a nod, watching her move toward him with a murr.
"I do hope they accept me." she whispered softly while wrapping her arms around his neck, leaning up to let a kiss softly graze his lips. "Till then...show me just how much you love me."
Gabe smirked slightly while picking her up in his arms and carrying her to the small bedroom in the back and kicking the door shut. They had time to still kill and they both planed to use every last second of it the best way known.
