The Journey to Acceptance Pt. 3
#3 of The Journey to Acceptance
First I would like to say that this chapter was written by Banehollow as a means to help me get past my writers block on this story. I would like to thank him first of all, and say that i have EVERY intention to finish this series. However; it might take longer than I orignally thought as chapter ideas are very difficult for me to come up with. With that out of the way, please enjoy and comment on this story.
I was walking through dark woods. I didn't know where I was, or where I was going for that matter. You told me to head south if I ever needed you. I didn't know what the south held for me, but it had to be better than what my previous location held. I was a wanted criminal, worse yet I was guilty of the crime I was accused of. As I walked, flashes of that evening flowed through my mind. Why did they have to reject me, why did they have to provoke me?
I was traveling in my werewolf form, I had been unable to transform back to human form since they day I had killed my mother. I suspected it was because of my grief, it took a lot of concentration to make the shift. Concentration I simply did not have anymore. My mind was filled with foreboding and self loathing. This particular night, the only thing out to light my way was moonlight. The moon was not yet full, but it was full enough to provide lamination. Granted my curse meant that I could see regardless of the lighting conditions.
I suddenly became aware of the smell of another, this other was like me. He was marked with the curse, and he was getting closer. I decided that my best option was to run, however as I begin to turn in the opposite I felt a sharp pain in my back. I staggered a little bit and felt another pain. This one slightly duller than the previous had been. I fell onto my back, and pain shot though my body. The sky was spinning, and the world began going dark, soon the light faded. As my consciousness faded, I could hear voices.
"Hay, look what we have here."
"What do we do with him," asked a second voice.
"We will carry him to the boss, he'll decide," replied the first again.
"Well, lets get those darts out of his back before he hurts himself by laying on them."
As I heard this the voices faded and the world went silent. I could feel myself lifted off of the ground, I was being moved, but to where I did not know. . . . .
As I began to awaken from my forced slumber, my senses kicked into overdrive. I was laying on some soft surface, under what felt like covers. I could feel a soft wind flowing into the room and on it was the scent of flowers. I inhaled them deeply; I drank in their scent as they reminded me of my mother's flower garden. I slowly opened my eyes to find myself in a bed. Needless to say after my forced capture this wasn't what I expected to wake up to. The room itself was rather large; it contained a chest of drawers, and a walk in closet. It also had a writing table and chair as well as a small sofa. One wall contained a set of patio doors which led onto a second floor porch.
As I began to move, my muscles screamed with pain. My body was stiff and sore, more than likely a side effect of whatever I was shot with. I began to get up and out of the bed I was in, I then discovered that I was indeed naked. My clothing had been removed, and my fur now smelled of shampoo. Why had my captors bathed me? I was a werewolf; I had expected to wake up in a dark, cold cell on a concrete floor. Instead I wake up in a soft bed with clean fur. I began making my way over to the patio doors, the outside world was brightly lit. The sky was blue and the animals seemed to be out and about. It was curious, as I stood at the patio door, the door to the room opened and yet another werewolf stepped into the doorway. He was a formidable looking fellow. He was six foot tall, his fur was a mixture of red, black and white, he had green eyes, and was built like a tank. Not somebody I would ever consider crossing. He stepped into the room and simply looked at me; I made no motion to cover myself as I was too shocked at what I was looking at. I was very much aware that I wasn't alone with my curse, but I had never met anybody else with it. The only other one's I had ever came across shot me.
"Hello Bade," began the stranger, "I see you are up and about." He walked over to the patio doors, past me, and walked onto the porch. "I would imagine you have a lot of questions running through your mind right now. I want to answer all of them; however, I find it rude to talk with someone whom you don't know. Therefore allow me to rectify this injustice by telling you about myself. My name is Banehollow, although I wish for you to call me Bane. As you can see I am very much a werewolf, and as you wonder though my mansion, I think you will find there are more of us than you originally thought."
I finally found my voice and spoke up to the stranger.
"Bane, how did you know who I am?"
"Ah, well that is a very valid question, and one I wish to answer, but first a story. Around ten years ago a stranger traveled to this area. He was someone whom the locals avoided with all costs, that is all but one. This one young man had the courage to speak to him. This individual became impressed with this young man and decided to offer him a gift. The young man eventually accepted this gift and his life was forever altered. This same now slightly older man now stands before me a werewolf, and in the fur."
I was once again shocked. I had never spoken about me receiving the gift; I hadn't even really given my family many details. Yet this man before me knew, he knew it all. "Who...who are you," I managed to choke out. "Me, well I'm a friend of a friend." With that answer he turned and headed for the door, only to pause at it long enough to speak to me one last time. "I know you must be hungry, you'll find clothes to fit your wolf form in the room. Get yourself dressed and then join me in the dining room. You must keep your strength up." I was shocked and confused. This stranger had known everything about me, even the story of how I became as I am. As I walked back into the room I began to get myself dressed. I didn't know what my future held, but I did know I was trapped here for the time being. I had to play along as there was really no other choice. I was hungry, but not for food. The dining room would contain more of the answers I seek. For now, my journey would have to be put on hold.
As I have stated earlier, this was done by Banehollow. Also I am working on ScRUMPtious like I promised. I will do my best to get it out ASAP. All I ask is a little patience and you will be rewarded with the final part to it. And I promise you will love it. Until then, please help me better myself by reading and commenting on my other works, I can only get better if you help me.
