P.S. I Love You
I sit here, a sailor's wife
I live happily with my husband,
he teaches me of the world
he leaves me here alone.
I find the house empty
all left of him a note
"I've set sail, there's a new adventure out there for me"
"Be back soon"
"PS, i love you"
I wait happily for him,
waiting to hear the strange explorations he'll take
I wait for him uneasy,
a few weeks pass and still no returning ship in the harbor
I wait for him worried,
its been a month and no word of anything.
I take our row boat
sail the nearby shores and waters,
no trace of anything human or human-made
I sit on the porch looking out over the bay
I remember my own old, frequent trips,
figuring out about new places and things
I remember the few storms I was caught in,
the toll it took on me and my incident
I remember my husband.
I wait for you everyday
hoping for a sign of your return
I wait for you every week
wishing you'll be ok
I wait for you every month
just to hear your voice or see your words
"PS I Love You..."
