Requiem for Darkness Part 5 Non-Existent Absolution
No amount of light can expose the truth... about me, you or anything.
His words echoed in my mind, "That can't be... that would make you..."
"Your brother," he cut in, "You know, at your level, you can't save her."
"Shut up!" I screamed, knowing that he's right.
I saw a smirk come across his face, "I can teach you. But you have mush to learn." I stood there giving him a questioning gaze. "Polarity," he finally said, "the ability to attract and repel things."
"Can't I use gravity for that?"
With a demeaning look he answered, "Yes, but this method requires much less thought and energy."
"What do you get from teaching me this?"
"Someday you'll see."
I stared into his confident eyes, it sounded like a bad idea but what else could I do. "...fine, teach me."
"That's what I like to hear." He looked around for several seconds, "Well, your training starts now. Commit To Light." With the sound of those last three words, I saw everything around us turn to white. "Welcome to Purgatory" He said.
"Where are we?" I asked, panicing.
He let out a confident chuckle, "We are still in the forest, but everything that isn't an intelligent being inside this dome I've created, is both invisible and intangible. This is the absolute light. There are no obstacles nor hiding places."
"How much power does it take to maintain this?" I said in awe as i examined the technique.
"That is irrelevent. Now there are two factors to this ability that you should know about," I then focused my attention on him, "One, you can only pull and repel towards and away from yourself, you cannot push things to the side. Two, depending on the area you're pushing or pulling, there is a recharge period. The wait between basic movements is five seconds." I gave him a simple nod, "Okay, then lets begin." Suddenly he threw two daggers at me.
"Woah," I said as I just barely managed to duck before they hit me.
"You are not to use your sword, gravity, or darkness. This part will end when you can repel the daggers." Another group of daggers flew at me. I easily dodged them, and the next ones, and the next ones. This continued for what felt like days. "If you don't at least try then this will never end." At this point I was starting to pant. I was tired and had no clue how long it's been.
I decided to give it a shot. I raised my paw towards the next incoming group of daggers... it didn't work. Instead I got two daggers in my shoulder only centimeters apart.
"You're pathetic, you will never save her. You might as well drop dead," he threw some more dagger cept this time, aimed at my face. I closed my eyes for a moment. Sarah, BigZ... I won't fail you!
I felt a flood of power as I opened my eyes to see the daggers, a second from impact, fly the other direction and fall to the ground.
He gave me another arrogant smile, "Congradulations, now for the next part."
I was tired of him, "No! I'm done!"
"But you havn't learned how to..." I raised my paw and pulled him towards me by the chest, catching him by the collar of the shirt. "You need me and you know it" he said as I threw him to the ground. I turned and started walking away, pulling the daggers out of my shoulder and tossing them aside.
"So you're going to condemn her to death!"
I stopped at that comment. I cocke my head to the side with the same arrogant grin he kept giving me. "Commit To Shadows" as I uttered those words, his world of pure white turned dark black. "Welcome to Solitary" I said as I left him behind.
It took me several minuets to escape the dome, apparently mine gives you zero visibility and everything stays tangible.
As I made my way out, the darkness opened up into the world I vaguely remember. I thought to myself, "Sarah, BigZ... I will be stronger, wait for me."
