Eon The Dragon of Gods
#2 of Work in Progress
The ringing of hammer upon heated steel rang out through the small blacksmith shop on the outskirts of the small village almost masked the soft jingle of the bell on the door to the shop. The person that came into the shop was a human being in a black cloak with the hood over it's head. The human quickly looked around and noticed a barrel full of water opposite the door and ran out to hide behind it, just before the door it came from was kicked opened to let in a trio of guards come inside. The guards were in golden armor that had a house sigil on the chest plate of the armor. The one on the left was a wolf with black fur and red eyes, the one on the right was a panther of the same color, and the center one was a rat of black fur like it's companions. Their tails poked out behind them without armor upon them and they all had a shield in their left hands and a sword in the scabbard on their left hips.
The looked around and started to come further into the room when the door into the smithing area opened to let in a tall bull with horns with a network of silver criss crossing all over. The guards closed in around the bull who was in the process of pulling off his gloves. The guards were all about six feet tall while the bull was able seven or seven and a half feet tall. The bull gulped nervously as the guards closed in around him and the open door that had a orange glow coming from it and the still ringing of metal.
"Can I help you gentlemen?" The bull asked and his voice betrayed the fact that this bull was actually still a young one, probably in his late teenage years, but his body was completely ripped in muscles from working at a forge. The guards smirked and nodded.
"Yeah, have you seen a human come inside this building? It is wanted for... questioning." The rat said and the human shivered as the other guards laughed some. The bull's eyes narrowed and he knocked on the door frame next to him. The guards didn't seem to notice the hammer stop ringing upon metal before the bull let the door swing closed behind him.
"No, we haven't seen or heard anyone but you three come in all day." The bull said and crossed his arms. The human was watching in amazement of how the bull was acting to these guardsmen. The rat then drew a dagger from behind his back and placed the tip against the bull's throat.
"Don't play coy with us. We know the girl is here and you will show us where she is." The rat said and the bull sighed before the rat's hand was grabbed by a massive scale covered one. The rat then yelped in surprise as he was picked up by his hand and dangled to have his feet hanging six feet off the ground.
"What the hell do you think you are doing in my shop?" A deep male voice spoke as the head of a dragon passed right through the wall next to them. The dragon was covered in white scales and stood at about twelve feet tall at the shoulder! The dragon's deep blue eyes were glowing as the dragon looked the rat in the face. The wolf and panther just stared in shock as a liquid started to drip down from the legs of his armor. The bull saw this and face palmed himself as he knew it was urine before he turned around and went back into the back of the shop again.
"Let me go Dragon! I work for the king's guards and I will have your head for this!" The rat yelled at the dragon in an attempt to regain his dignity after pissing himself a moment ago. The dragon just sighed in disappointment.
"No you don't. I make every set of armor they wear throughout the kingdom. I know my creation when I see one, but... this is a cheap knockoff of my armor." It said and used its other hand to poke the chest plate with a claw that popped through it before it pulled down to rip a hole through it like it was just made if tin. The wolf and panther growled and Drew their swords as the human gasped at the strength of the dragon. The wolf then turned around to look at the barrel before the bull came back and whacked him upside the head with a wet mop. The bull only used one hand and it crumbled the Wolf's helmet. The panther then swung his blade at the dragon's arm in an attempt to slice through it...but the blade shattered to bits after colliding with the scales. A shards of the blade flew everywhere and the dragon growled angrily as the bull opened the front door to throw out the unconscious wolf. The dragon then threw the rat out and the panther quickly ran after him, but with a limp as a piece of the blade was in his foot.
"Now don't come back!" The bull yelled after them before closing the door and sighing. The dragon then walked completely through the wall to stand in the room. The dragon didn't have a shirt on, but was wearing a pair of pants that had a few holes in it and no shoes as well. The underside of it's neck was covered in wider scales like a snake would have, but we're shaped like large V's with the point heading down and they continued down across its chest, and belly before disappearing into it's pants. Its feet were similar to a eagle's, but with the back claw closer to the foot and only three toes. It's tail had the same scale pattern and was easily twice the dragon's height. Close to the tip of the tail was a pair of blades that was growing from its body. The blades came out like a V from the sides of the tail, similar to a dolphin's tail would, but at about a foot away from the scales the became a 45° angle that turned it to be parallel with the last foot of tail and stopped even with the tip.

(The lines above represent the image of the tail for now, but I plan on drawing a better representation later.)
The dragon then picked up the barrel the human was hiding behind and started to drink the water from it without even looking at the human. The bull started to mop up the wooden floor where the rat was before with his back to the human. The human was frozen in shock and didn't move until the dragon had completed drained the barrel and inverted it over her head to pin her there inside the barrel. She tried to push it up off her, but the dragon was keeping it in place with a hand.
"Let me go! Please! I don't want to be in the dark!" The human cried out from inside the barrel which gave away that she was really young. The dragon then picked up the barrel and looked at her softly. She was curled up into a ball and was crying into her knees. The bull looked over to her before he flattened his ears and smacked the dragon on the nose, causing the dragon to snort and fall backwards onto his rear. The girl looked up at the snort and saw the bull standing in front of the dragon who looked very confused.
"Master Eon (E-yawn). How many times must I tell you not to scare people!" The bull yelled at the dragon, causing him to shy away from the bull yelling at him.
"Hey! It's not my fault I'm a massive Dragon." He said and covered his head before the bull whacked the top of his head with the mop handle. The little girl started to giggle as it was funny to her that a big Dragon was scared of a bull with a mop. They both heard her laugh and smirked as this little act worked on her. The bull then turned around and walked through the door to the back of the shop and after a few moments came back with a small plate that had several fruits and veggies on it. He then crouched down in front of the girl to present the plate to her. She noticed the plate and her stomach growled loudly. Both bull and dragon laughed softly as she blushed softly.
"Go ahead and have some. We won't do anything to harm or use you...and my Master's a big softy." The bull said with a smile before the dragon disappeared back through the door to the back. She then grabbed a peach and started to eat it ravenously. He chuckled and stood up before holding out a hand to help her to her feet. She looked at his hand for a few seconds and saw that it was his left hand covered in blue fur, a very noticeable difference to the green fur that covered the rest of him. He saw her looking at his hand and laughed.
"My Mother was blue and my Dad was green. I'm actually surprised I'm not a different color." He said and winked his green eyes at her which caused her to giggle before taking his hand to be lifted up onto her feet gently. He then opened the door into the back and motioned for her to come through with him. She quickly went through and saw a large pit full of fire that was burning above the wood inside it. The dragon was standing beside the pit and held a bar of metal into the fire with his hand still holding it. The bar became a glowing white color after a few seconds and he pulled it out to place it upon the large stone he had next to him like a table. He then made a fist with his other hand and slammed it down upon the ultra heated metal, flattening it out instantly. He then picked it up with both hands and folded it like it was just clay to him. He folded it a few dozen times before he held it in his left hand and used his other hand to alter the upper half of the bar. She couldn't tell what he was making it into until he dropped it into the stone trough full of blue water that had massive blocks of ice inside it. The water exploded into steam and after a few seconds he reached in to pull it out before dropping it upon a wooden table nearby. Once he dropped it the metal bar made a gentle tingle sound and shattered into a few thousand nails.
"Yep, that's why I asked him to train me to forge metal. He is one of if not the best blacksmith in the whole entire world." The bull said and placed the tray at another table before grabbing a piece of parchment that had words written on it and placed it next to the nails.
"What do you think Nick? Do you think this will be enough for Mike to build that barn?" The dragon asked and the bull laughed.
"I think you might have made too many for him Master Eon." The bull who was named Nick said to the dragon who was named Eon. The girl then pulled out a small painting that had a woman. The woman had wintergreen colored eyes and her hair was the same color, but with streaks of grey going throughout it. The woman also had a dress of a deep blue with green lacing. The woman was sitting down, but not in a chair or on the ground. Instead she was sitting in the arms of a large white Dragon with glowing blue eyes, just like the one in front of her now. In the bottom right corner of the painting was a small message written in a golden ink.
"Find this Dragon. He will protect you my darling daughter. His name is Eon and a old friend of mine." It said and when the girl looked back at the picture she saw the silver crown across her mother's forehead. She then looked at the dragon in the picture and noticed that it had a set of wing draped across its shoulders like a cape, but the wings were covered in white feathers. She looked up at the real Dragon only to see him crouched down in front of her and looking down at the picture in her hands. He then sighed sadly and sat down onto his rear as his tail curled under her to form a chair.
"Are...are...are you really Eon?" The girl asked before sitting down onto his tail and he nodded. She then looked over him again and noticed one big difference between the picture and the one in front of her. The one in front of her didn't have wings. He then leaned forward and looked even sadder than before.
"Your mother is a amazing woman and you shouldn't have ran away from her." Eon said and looked at her as she pulled down her hood to reveal her head. She looked almost identical to her mother, but without the grey hair and her right eye was covered with a eye patch.
"My mother helped me escape a attack on the castle. Before we separated she handed me this picture and said that Eon will protect me...but I doubt you are him..." She started to tear up and the picture started to get tears dropped onto it. Eon looked at her face and then gently and slowly, pulled her into a soft hug with her face buried into his chest. She then let out all her pent up emotions as she cried and banged her fist onto his chest.
"My mother said you were braver than anyone she knew, a protective friend, and her best friend in the world...but yet you just sit here and just hide from the world! She said you were...you were..." She just continued to cry as Eon started to gently rub her back with a massive hand that could cover her whole body if she curled up into a ball. Nick heard what they both said and quickly disappeared into another room to grab the spare bed then have.
"It's okay Ashley... it's okay." Eon whispered softly and pulled off a thin silver ring from his left pointer finger. Once it was off his wings shimmered into existence and wrapped around her softly as Nick came back with actually three beds, one of all three of them, but at the sight of his Master and the princess in this position he remembered something from a book. He quickly shook the thought out of his mind and placed the beds down next to each other. The princess must have been quite tired and had fallen asleep after a few moments in his wings.
"Nick. I believe it's time for us to move shop." Eon said and looked at the green bull. Nick nodded softly as he knew that might come up.
"Of course Master, I will go pack up a few things and grab some provisions. May I ask as to where we will be heading?" Nick asked and Eon nodded.
"I have a few people who might want to help me get the Queen back, since we all are friends." Eon said and Nick tilted his head to the side confused.
"And who might they be Master?" Nick asked and Eon smiled softly.
"All the Gods..."
