As the girl wandered out of the school, she didn...

As the girl wandered out of the school, she didn't make eye contact with any of the people passing by. She was looking for someone else. She pushed past them, moving quickly, yet elegantly. Her long white dress flowing even though there was no wind. Where is she?! She thought furiously, finally scanning the crowd for a glimpse of the person she was supposed to meet.

" Lovely weather today, wouldn't you agree?" a voice called out from behind her. She turned around to find a small girl in holding a black umbrella. She had a black dress with black ribbons. And a small pendant in the shape of a skull glinted in the sunlight. The umbrella was covering her face, yet she knew who she was.

" Ikara..." The little girl smiled.

" I can't hide anything from you can I?" The girl lifted the umbrella, revealing a strikingly beautiful cheetah. Her hair was white with a blue-ish tinge. Her eyes were blue as well, but somehow, lifeless.

" Do you like this face?" the cheetah said, pointing at her face. "It's pretty isn't it?"

The girl tried hard not to make some insulting remark. She needed to get on this girl's good side.

" You're running out of tiiime." the cheetah said in a singsong voice. "Can you meet the deadline?"

" Of course I can."

" You know what happens should you fail this task." the cheetah smiled, fingering her skull pendant. The skull's eyes now started to glow red. It's jaw slowly opening.

" I understand the...consequences. Yes." the girl found it hard to keep her voice under control.

" Good." the pendant returned to it's original state. " I HATE people who don't keep their end of the bargain. And when I hate people, I PUNISH them. You understand don't you?"

?

The girl nodded slowly.

The cheetah stared for a moment. " Very well." She started to step back. Black flames erupted around her, engulfing her. Yet the cheetah showed no signs of pain. " Remember...we had a deal." Her last words before disappearing, taking the flames with her.

" Yes... a deal." The girl lifted her sleeve to find a mark in the shape of a skull on her shoulder. " I have to hurry."

At home...

School finally ended. Chris told the rest of the gang about Mark and John. But mostly about John. Mom an Rob were out today. So I had the whole place to myself. I paced around and wondered what to do. It took me about a 10 minutes to figure out what I wanted to do...sleep. I headed up to my room. I'll do homework later. When I reached my bed, I was a little hesitant to go to sleep. I was a little bit shaky about the nightmare last night. But as always, sleepiness got the better of me. I fell down on my bed and closed my eyes.

I wake up in a green meadow. The grass flowing gently with the wind. I looked around. Okay, no creepy girl here. I looked around just to make sure. She wasn't here.

" O...kay" I muttered " What now?" I decided to take a walk since there was nothing else to do.

I don't really know how long I walked. But then I heard something. A baby crying? I whipped around. Nothing there. But the baby's cry was getting louder, now pounding in my head. Where is it coming from?

I ran toward to the source I thought the cry was coming from. No luck.

Yet the cry was so loud! I must be close. Somehow I felt a presence behind me. I turned. Nothing. Just my imagination. I turned around again and found myself staring at HER face. Her green eyes just inches away from mine.

" AAGH!" I screamed and backed away. She took a step closer.

" Stay back." I warned, but my voice was so small. She held out her hands. I realized she was holding something. I looked down and saw a baby. She held it out again.

" I don't...understand."

" Of course you don't you silly boy." a young voice said behind me. I whipped around, but there was no one there. I turned around to toward the girl again. She no longer held the baby. Her hands were empty. But her face... it was... sad

" Aww. Boohoo! Too bad." the young voice was back. Suddenly the girl shot up into the air as if held by invisible hands. Two knives appeared by her throat. She screamed, but I heard nothing. The knives started to close around her throat, almost touching the fur.

" W-wait." I held out my hand.

" This face is perfect for me. So beautiful." the young voice exclaimed enthusiastically. The knives got closer. "But it's attached to her body." The knives got even closer. "I know! Why don't we just PEEL it OFF?" The girls eyes got wide.

" STOP!" I screamed.

" STOP!" I shouted, waking up. I was in my room again. Safe and sound. What just...happened? That dream was unlike any other dream I had about her. Her face. I grimaced as I recalled how the knives closed around her throat. The voice that said to peel it off. The baby. What did it mean?

Somewhere...

A young cheetah sat in a black chair, in a black room. The window was open, letting in some rays of light so she could see. She liked the color black. It would match the color of her soul...if she had one. She smiled to herself. If the girl failed, she would finally have a new face to play with. This was getting fun.

" Better hurry up." she whispered. Then she started to laugh. Her laugh echoed everywhere, yet no one heard.
