The Zootopian Experiment Chapter16
(Judy Hopps)
After work that day, I went to the hospital to meet with Nick, Michael, and John. At the hospital I noticed that my friends were playing basketball in the gym. As I came into the gym I decided to talk to Doctor Lango, who was just watching them. Their she said, "I know what you are thinking, yes it is safe for Officer Wilde to play, they aren't playing that hard. Beside I believe this can do more good than harm, exercising is not bad especially with how long they have been in bed for. As for Michael and John, they haven't really been around anyone else but you, me, and Officer Wilde. A chance for other mammals to look at them, will help them realize they aren't human anymore and no one would ever think they were ever another species."
I looked at them and smiled, the game seemed pretty good, two foxes could at least hold a lion. Than I said to Doctor Lango, "I started working on citizenship for them, and you are right. It is much harder than what I first thought." She looked at me, almost like she expected me to say that I gave up. Yet I continued, "I believe that, with some help I can get them citizenship from one of our dependent towns. I was asked by Chief Bogo, to see if I could get them into the ZPD. It might be a good idea, it ensure that they have a job which is needed and that they will be working with me and Nick. Yet I still hope to give them a choice, I just don't know how to present the options to them."
Then Doctor Lango answered with, "They are starting life basically from the beginning, everything from their past will never be known by us. With that, they need friends, they need support. I believe that, they are lucky, they have have you and Officer Wilde. However you decide to ask them and whatever they decide I am certain that you and Officer Wilde will support them."
After awhile of watching them, Nick came over, and said, "what is going on?" He continued on in his sly self. "Wait Carrots, your want me to donate my other kidney, to a sheep this time." As he grabbed a bottle of water, and chugged it down. Doctor Lango didn't seemed to get it. Nick said, "Great the doc, has been around us for many weeks now. Yet she as yet to learn to not take what I say seriously.
I than said teasingly, "no, no more kidney donations, but their is an elk who needs your heart. Yet I realized you don't have one to donate." Nick grabbed his chest where his heart is at and pretended to be shocked. I continued, "so Nick, I believe we need to talk." As I got up and Nick followed. I started saying, "Chief Bogo, wants me to try to get them into the ZPD. He says that if I can, than I go back to the field. Just I don't want to influence their decisions "
While I thought that Nick would make some cheap jock about this. He looked sympathetic and said, "well, we don't know what they would choose. All you can do is give them the option, they might choose to become copers. I will present the option to them, because I don't care either way, its no skin off my nose." I didn't know why, but Nick being their for me made me feel happy.
I hugged Nick, with tears of joy in my eyes. Then Nick said in a teasing way, "great, I keep forgetting, that bunnies are too emotional for my own good. You could get off me Carrots." As I stopped hugging him, I backed off.
There I said, "Thank you Nick, you don't know how much this means to me. I am always thankful to have a friend like you." As Nick was walking back to John and Michael. I decided to sit down again with Doctor Lango and enjoy the game.
