The Chronical'ers Journal part 3
The first major conflict of the prior times was the Stachelmacht, Hornspitz alliance against Serpentia. Which ended in a devastating defeat for Serpentia.
Chapter: 3 Conflict
3.000 B.U A Millenia has gone by. The Kings went and came. The trade bloomed and the world seemed to have everlasting peace. That was untill King Dorncoleone IV. was assasinated by a group of mysterious people that were seen to be bipedal raptors that walk upright like men. Stachelmacht demands justice, however Serpentia claims that these were sent prophets by their savior Rapthorsos and declared the hunt after upright raptors forbidden.
King Rachsüchtig, the nephew of Dorncoleone and Mayor of Eisenstadt did not take this lightly and he demanded justice. looking to Hornspitze for support Rachsüchtig pleaded for support in an upcomming war for justice. Hornspitze who had long been a supporter of Stachelmacht of course accepted. And thus the powerful heavy armored Dilos and Ankylos of Stachelmacht came across the border, burning small hamlets and villages down in revenge and in the hunt for the upright raptors.
Armys of Serpentia quickly swarmed down to the south to help but they were simply unprepared for the massively armored army's of Stachelmacht. Their spears and arrows simply were breaking at the mere touch, some said. And even their mighty raptors have failed to bite through. King Stegodir III. was furious with this cowardly attack. Even more so furious with the cowards at his borders. No one decided to come to help. It seemed dark for Serpentia.
Wider parts of southern Serpentia were burned, but where was the King? Held captive by the flyers of Hornspitze. The regent Samuel Knorke was restless as he tried to lead the nation without King Stegodir III. It was at that moment where the Stachelmacht army was close to the borders of Schuppenstadt where he had to admit defeat to Stachelmachts superior army. Rachsüchtig took the crown and became the King of Serpentia and Stachelmacht. His ally Hornspitze retreated back into the forests satisfied with their work. King
Stegodir III. Went missing after the war pressumibly went into exile in the far away mountains.
And thus it was the first time, Serpentia was toppled from its seat of power. Stachelmacht and Serpentia has been brought together by King Rachsüchtig. Rachsüchtig completely forgot the reason he went to war with Serpentia in the first place. The other Kingdoms feared it would soon hit them too. Stachelmacht was now the largest kingdom in Serpentia.
What were the other nations to do? Hornspitze and Stachelmacht were completely separating Zahneck from the twin Duchy's. One could not travel to the other without paying a hefty fee. So Zahneck developed a cunning strategy to bypass this. Simply go by boat. It was the first time a boat would travel all the Way from Zahneck down to the twin Duchy's. And it was Theodor von Sachsonien who lead the crew onto this journey.
2.999 B.U Preparations have been made, courses have been planned and the boat has been fitted. It was time for Theodor to set sail.
The Waters were dangerous there were swimming monsters all over. The crews were frightened by stories of sea monsters bigger than the continent. But Theodor did not let the fear take him. He had a mission to complete, a trading mission so to speak.
2.998 B.U Just as the new year was coming in, Theodor has managed to cross the eastern coast of Stachelmacht's bottom realm. Theodor had to make a crucial decision. He knows that without supplies over the land from Serpentia, Dragmar would not be able to feed itself and the population would starve. So it came down to the crucial decision of testing the boats abilities on the open sea. For the year Theodor has travelled along the coastline to be sure. But now he was at the point where he needed to make a fast decision. From Stachelmacht to Canaria it was only a bay away, the Claws Bay. A bay that has claimed many brave sea travellers. Theodor had to rally his men for they were still shaken by prior events which I will tell you of another time. Theodor himself was a writer. Anyways, Theodor decided to lead the boat across the Claw bay. It would save up to 2 months of travel. And thus they sailed across the claw bay, just on the next day when they passed the middle, Theodor wrote something in his journal.
"When my men and me were looking at what the new morning brought us, we stood and stared in awe at the presence before us. In front of me, on my boat, was a man body and the head of a Python with a wide hood. He introduced himself as the prophet of the golden serpent. He asked me what i was doing on the Claw Bay so bravely crossing it. I told him the current situation and he asked me if I believed that what happened to Serpentia was fair. I said no. I felt they were unfairly attacked by both sides for no valid reasons. The man nodded his head. He said this "I see your reason young man. Yet I cannot accept your view. For you have not seen the other side. But I will accept this answer and give you a safe sail to Canaria. May the tides be good to you." And before I could ask him what his name was, he vanished."
And than Theodor and his crew kept sailing. Safely across the Claw Bay and over the western tip of Canaria, he managed to safely bring his crew to the coast of Canaria to Krallenkrok. The soon to be port city of Canaria. Theodor told the prince of Canaria what occurred in Zahneck. Luckily for them, Prince Alex II. was a kind and charitable man. Unlike his zealous brother who so arrogantly calls himself Lord of the Twin Duchy's. Alex accepted the plead of Theodor and asked him if he could take the small boats of Canaria through the claw bay and back to Zahneck with no harm. Theodor agreed.
2.995 B.U A stable trade route between Zahneck and Canaria has been made. Rachsüchtig feels greatly insulted by this undermining of his authority.
