Chapter 3

Isaac

I sat in CWP with Pandora and Chris. Another lesson in economics and another incompetent remark from our teacher about science- of which he knows nothing. I glanced over at Pandora and Chris to see them talking. Obviously they were close, with Pandora being good at everything and Chris being the fucking poet that he is, there's no way she wasn't falling for him.

They were yapping about something book-related, and with the obvious tones in their voices even Danny and Michael seemed less clueless about their crushes than Pandora and Chris. Ever since I'd asked Pandora out last year me and her have been distant, and I'd set my eyes on the wonder who currently sat before me.

Our town is dumb, to put it bluntly. I had figured that Pandora was the only girl who'd had any brains until Jess walked in. Beauty wasn't hard to find in this town, but the bunny had blown me away when she'd managed to corrected my math in AP Physics. I'll admit, that was intimidating, but it was hot as hell, and hopefully she understood that minds like ours were a gift of good genetics, hard work, and simple luck.

I found myself blushing when Chris tapped my leg with her pencil under the desk, "Nice boner, dork."

"Fuck off, at least the girl I'm into actually knows I exist."

He raised an eyebrow at me, "I don't have a crush, what the fuck are you talking about?"

I looked at him, "Are you seriously trying to pull a Daniel?"

He seemed legitimately confused, which could've been his good acting or his genuine idiocy, "Dude, I ain't got no crush."

"Wow, I thought it was obvious. Okay, never mind then."

It suddenly clicked in his head and his eyes popped, "Oh, shit, you think I have a thing for Pandora?"

I nodded, "Kinda obvious..."

"No, she's just... I'm trying to be supportive, she's... I think she's struggling with depression."

"Really? The girl who can do anything? Depression?"

"Yeah, I think. I mean, it's that or her natural state is a lot less bubbly than it appears."

"Her natural state?- N-nope! It's something book-y, don't even start on me."

He gave me a confused look, "Uhh... okay."
