Just a fun and Simple TF story I made to practice my stories, hope you guys enjoy!

Thomas is a man who never really spends much time outdoors. When his pals go into the woods Thomas absolutely needs a break from them! He wanders away from the group into the woods, wandering around for a

bit before wishing he was far better suited for the woods. He meets a strange hermit who's all too happy to grant his request in ways he didn't expect....

Thomas groaned and stretched his back. The accountant rarely did any physical labour, he wasn't sure why his friends insisted on him carrying the cooler. The man grunted and dropped the cooler next to their tent and looked at the two friends who dragged him out here. Already James had a beer in hand and was taking in the beautiful lake side. The other guy, Stan, was busy setting up his tent. James let out a relaxed sigh.

"Yep, the first spring camp of the year is always great. Supposed to clear up tomorrow. It would be nice to see the sun for once, you know. Just for proof that it still exists."

Thomas shook his head and walked up towards James. "I guess so." He shrugged. The lanky man didn't dress too well for the colder weather. "I'm not sure why you guys dragged me out here though."

From the tent came Stan's voice. "Well you got to get out of the house sometimes Thomas!" The bigger man came out of the tent with his fishing rod. "Just give this weekend a chance to change your mind. A good breath of fresh air will help a lot." Stan joined James by the lake, grabbing a beer on his way over. Thomas crossed his arms

"Yeah, I'm sure the mosquitos will do wonders for me." He sarcastically replied.

James spoke up. "Nah, they don't come out here when it's cool like this." Thomas sighed, exasperated at the conversation. He shook his head. "I'm just going to go for a walk before it gets too dark." Stan gave him a nod.

"We'll have a fire going in a bit here. Shouldn't be too hard to spot. " The accountant turned and walked off to a trail. Stan yelled out as he was leaving. "And watch out for bears!"

Thomas rubbed his forehead at that thought. Great, he forgot about the wildlife. The woods seemed like such a dangerous place, why would anyone come out here?

Thomas continued his trek through the forest. He let the noises of the woods calm his mind. He had to admit, it made it easier to think being out here. He stayed quiet with his thoughts while trekking, his

shoes making a soft crunch through the dirt path. Up a hill he went and stopped when the man came upon a clearing. It was an breathtaking view of the lake, Thomas allowed himself to take the sight in. He sighed to himself, Stan was right. He should go out onto nature walks far more than he used to. But it was something the skinny man was never good at. Always lagging behind others in walks, always miserable when it was far too hot out. He just wished he was better suited to the outdoors.

There was a breath change in the air, as if the air grew warmer. It made Thomas look to the sky for thunderclouds, but it still as light grey as ever. He shook his head and continued down the path. Down the hill he went and took a sharp right turn where he saw something unexpected. The path ended in a old medieval house that looked straight out of a fairy tale. Smoke billowed from the chimney. In the window, Thomas saw what looked like a large black bear prowling the insides of the house. His heart stopped, what if the person inside was in need of help? Quickly he ran to the door, his heart beating quickly. He put his ear to the door and heard a man humming to himself. Great... someone was in there and they didn't notice the bear yet. He cursed to himself and tried to open the door. It stayed shut and the lock rattled in place. How did the bear get in then?

"Is someone at the door? I'm coming." He heard a rather happy voice and then the thuds of heavy feet creaking against floorboards. He took a step back as the door swung open. He stared at the man in complete shock, his mouth hung open. In front of him was a humanoid bear! A rather heavy brown one with a big bouncy belly. The bear gave Thomas a warm smile.

"Hello there! A new visitor has come to my home? By all means, come on in." Before Thomas could say anything, the bear grabbed the human's arm and pulled him into the house, closing the door behind him.

Thomas blinked as he took in the home of the bear. From what he saw, the bear kept a tidier home than Thomas ever did. The bear came up and patted Thomas' shoulder with one of his large arms.

"You just caught me in the middle of making lunch. I wasn't expecting guests but as you can see here." The bear cupped his large girth. "I make plenty enough to go around! Take a seat, it will be ready in just a moment." The bear turned his attention from Thomas and focused on a pot that smelt delicious. Thomas took his suggestion, the stunned human's legs couldn't support his weight anymore and he sat down.

His eyes were still fixed on watching the tubby bear. Was he dreaming? He must have eaten something wrong, there's just no way that a bear could walk-

"So what brings you to this neck of the woods?" The bear said cheerily as he stirred the pot. "And what's your name anyways?"

Thomas blinked when he realized the bear was talking to him. "Oh, my name is erm, Thomas. Was just taking a walk." The bear nodded.

"Thomas eh? That's not a bad name. My name is Gregor if you'd like to know." Thomas shook at that. Great, Gregor the bear.... The strange bear also had a name! Gregor hummed to himself and said "Food's done. Just sit tight, i'll bring your half over. " Thomas watched as the bear pulled out a wooden plate and poured out the food onto it. A lot of it. Gregor grabbed the dark red meaty mixture along with some utensils and placed the food in front of Thomas. The man looked down in surprise, it was probably was about the same amount as he ate all of yesterday.

"Hey, I don't need so much!" Gregor laughed at him and patted the skinny human's shoulder.

"I imagine you're rather hungry after a long walk?" Thomas' stomach rumbled at the mention. It has been a long trip and he didn't get to eat yet. He could always just dig in a bit and end when he wanted to.... The bear left him alone to grab a plate. Thomas picked up a spoon and delicately picked up a spoonful of the substance. He looked down at the morsel of food before pushing it into his mouth.

His mouth watered at the succulent taste. Thomas groaned and eagerly lapped up the delicious food. He barely swallowed the savory food before another spoonful was jammed into his mouth. And another. It was like he couldn't get enough! Thomas gripped the plate and helped himself to more of the food. Gregor joined him at the table, his big belly squished against the side. He admired watching Thomas eat. "Glad to see you like the food so much." Thomas only gave a nod, his mouth was stuffed full. "Though there's a secret ingredient. I can't tell you what it is, but it has a way of bringing out a bear in you...."

Thomas looked up from his plate in alarm at the bear. what did he mean by that? That's when he noticed his nose was broader than usual and his baggy shirt was taut... He looked down and gasped. His body sported a belly that was definitely not there before, and what was definitely fur was poking out of his shirt! The changing man quickly stood up and took a single step to the door. His stomach rumbled and Thomas thought about all that delicious food.

"You're not going to leave your plate so full are you? A growing bear has to eat." Gregor teased him. Thomas couldn't help himself. The man sat back down into his seat and dived into the food. The man eagerly swallowed spoon after spoon. Thomas was humiliated, he could feel the delicious food changing him. With each mouthful that entered his body, he grew into a thicker and heavier bear. A thick coat of black bear fur washed over his body! His shirt gave way to a bigger and bigger belly, a thick furred bear belly that looked just like Gregor's. His mouth grew out into a thick unmistakably Ursine muzzle, capable of holding more of the food. His arms thickened out and layers of flab were spread out his body. That wasn't all he gained though, as Thomas could feel underneath the layer of fat an incredible strength. He could feel himself growing strong, very strong indeed. Thomas had to stop for one agonizing moment as the changes took over his hands. Bear pads grew out of his palm and tiny claws lengthened from his digit. It was hard to believe the bear Thomas was becoming used to be human just a few moments ago.

The hungry bear was finishing up what few morsels were left on his plate until there was not a scrap left. Finally, the effects of the food were done and Thomas blinked. The weight of what happened washed over him! The new bear's hands went to his face, his pads squished against his chubby face as he felt his new features. Gregor gave a small chuckle and rose from his seat.

"I remember what it was like too when I first got changed." Gregor reminisced as he went to the pot of food. He was grabbing a huge bowl and scooping what remained left into it. "You'll find being a bear isn't so bad..."

Thomas opened his mouth to object but found the protest died in him. A foreign voice in his head spoke of the strength he now wielded. He had all the strength he could ever want, and now he was better suited for the wilds than he ever could be, right? Thomas found it impossible to argue with the voice, whatever it said was true. This new form he had made his wish come true... but he couldn't go back to his camp now could he? Looking like this? The bowl was dropped in front of Thomas, full of the food. Beside it was a recipe.

"You can feel this new form calling to you." The bear confidently said. A mischievous smile on his face. "But we shouldn't be the only ones like this, right? Bears have to belong in a group."

Thomas looked up at him. It was hard to think... only to blindly accept what Gregor was saying. "Right..." Gregor was right, the two of them shouldn't be the only ones like this. Gregor pushed the bowl into Thomas' paws. The bear absent mindly gripped it.

"Now I figure you didn't come to my neck of the woods alone. Why don't you take some of this food back to your friends? Don't worry if they seemed shocked at your appearance, I'm sure after a few bites of this they'll change their tune." Thomas nodded, knowing what he wanted to do with the food. He looked down at the paper. "And this is the recipe of my secret food. Guaranteed to bring the bear out of anyone. It takes an ursine snout to properly cook the dish." Thomas took the paper and held onto it. Gregor patted his back.

"Make sure you come back soon, It's always nice to have a fellow bear for company!" Thomas nodded and rose from his seat. His big body wobbled as he took heavy steps out of the door. Grigor waved at him as the bear made his way back to his camp. Gregor sighed in contentment. It was always great to turn those scrawny little humans into proper bears.
