Chapter 3: Revenge
Well, I finished it! I hope you will enjoy reading the third, last chapter of Becoming A Dragon Slayer. Comment, follow and favourite!
I was now pretty close to the huge cave, so I decided to light a torch and see if the dragon is there. I lit a torch and prepared myself for battle. I entered the cave and saw the many bones of the victims of the dragon. I gulped, as I saw skeletons, wearing heavy armor. I realized that I wasn't the first one to try to kill the dragon, so I was very aware of everything. The walls of the cave were smooth and a bit wet. That tunnel led me to a much bigger room. If I didn't have that torch, I wouldn't see anything. I looked around and didn't see any sighns that the dragon was here, but I was still aware.
I heard something to move behind me and I turned fast and saw it. The dragon was huge and was almost invisible, due to the enviroment around us. I slowly got closer, trying not to make any noise. I prepared to make my first strike, but I stepped on a bone, I didn't see and the dragon fastly opened it's eyes and roared at me. It's tail swished and hit me, making me fly into a wall. I collapsed and saw the dragon prepare to blow fire and I quickly moved away, making the flames miss me. I was lucky to be alive that far. I threw the torch away, as there already was light from the fire, which the dragon blew. I got both my axe and my sword in my hands and I screamed in rage, running towards my enemy. The dragon blew fire again and I dodged it, skillfully and as I got closer to it, I swished with my sword, cutting a part of the dragon's wing. I smiled, satisfiengly, as I heard it grolw in pain. I made another move, this time at the dragon's tail and cut a big part of it. There was a lot of blood and fire around me. I looked and my enemy, before it blew fire. I tryed to dodge the flames, but they got a part of my face, burning it a bit. I quickly got water from my bottle on my face and turned to see that the dragon wasn't there. I got up and realized that it was behind me. I turned, swishing my axe across the enemy's neck, cutting a bit from it. It collapsed, trying to regain it's strenght, but I hit it with my axe again and again, until I cut the dragons head. I slowly picked up the bloody head and got out of the cave.
On my way home, I thought of the fight and what were the chances for me to die. They were big. I was home three days later and I got the dragon's head on one of the walls, to decorate my house. It stayed beautifully above the door, so I kept it there. Before I put it there, I cleaned most of the insides of the head. I was happy to finally got my revenge and a trophy. After all, my race is human, and as such, I love to keep something to remind me of the glorious battles I fought.
