Search through the drawers and the MYSTERIOUS BOX for more clues.
You walk over to the writing desk and ponder which drawer to open first. Pragmatism encourages you to open both simultaneously, and finding no reason not to do so, you do so.
In one drawer, you find a small leather-bound tome attached to a thick silver-and-copper chain. In the other, you find a thin gnarled wooden stick and an onyx feather quill , both seven inches long. A quick glance through the tome reveals that it is devoid of all writing.
Spatial Awareness skill is increasing...
You then endeavour to open the MYSTERIOUS BOX. Unfortunately, it is tightly sealed with transparent tape. In fact, the amount of transparent tape involved is staggering. You quietly wonder why anybody would go through all that hard work to seal a MYSTERIOUS BOX, before it dawns on you that this is probably part of its MYSTERIOUS quality. That, or somebody's trolling you.
