Why should you never fall asleep in a hot spring naked? Well, you never know who will walk by.
In my case, I awoke with a start to feel some one kissing me. As my eyes opened I saw Edge's face before me.
"What a pretty thing you are." He said, lifting my form and carrying me into the house. He threw me on the bed and slipped off his pants.
"Is this what Zero has done to you little one? Let me see that side of you."
He paused against me and I screamed, waking up to find Zero before me, kneeling next to the spring.
"That's a dangerous place to fall asleep, you could drown."
"I can breathe under water."
"Well then people can come along and do worse than just kiss you." He said leaning in and kissing me on the lips.
He was right, I started to rise, and then remembering my clothes were on the other side of him, I sunk back into the water again.
"And leaving you clothes out of arm's reach is a very dangerous thing. Well now that your up, let's talk about your payment for my healing you."
"Payment? But I have nothing..."
"Nothing? I see something very nice indeed." He placed his hand under my chin and leaned in to kiss me again. "I'm not asking you to do anything with me, I'm just asking you to stay, and consider it. I would enjoy the company, and who knows you are a very lovely creature, maybe I can win you over."
He reached, picking up my clothes and walked over to the house.
"Let me know what you decide."
So I sat there staring after him, naked and stuck in my human form. I wasn't sure what he was implying. I was starting to trust him, and he was very kind to me. Also, his kiss had excited me. I hadn't felt this way since I had been with Gwen, but that was very long ago.
Night was starting to fall by the time I got out of the spring. I wrapped my wings around my self as best I could, and walked up to the house.
"So you decided to come out."
"Yes. I've also decided to stay. I mean, just because I stay with you don't mean anything will happen. I mean when I get to know you better things will take their own shape right?"
"Of course. Now go into the bedroom."
"What?" I stepped back towards the door.
"Your clothes, I bought you a new dress, it is in the bedroom, please go try it on, I think it will suit you well, better than that tattered ball gown that you were in before."
I blushed a little, moving past him and going to change. The dress he had laid out of me was very simple, but very lovely. The material was soft, almost like silk. It was just a simple green dress, but it seemed to fit perfectly, as if it was made for me. I returned to the main room to find dinner set at the table.
"Oh good, I'm glad it fits. I had to guess on the size a little, but it looks good." He moved closer and bent to kiss me again, on the cheek this time. He reached being my head, fastening something around my neck then slipping my hair past it.
"This pendant will grant you protection in this valley and in the region surrounding it. It also signifies that you are mine, there are a few warlords in this area that will carry off an unclaimed maiden. If you want I'll also teach you how to fight, since you seem not to be able to become a dragon at the moment, and with a hurt wing you can't fly."
"How can you know that?"
"Well, if you could become a dragon right now, the incident with you waking up in the spring would have happened differently. If you could fly you would have realized why you needed the amulet. The valley is protected by magick. You can not get in or out with out one, unless you are with someone who has one."
We sat across form each other at the table, dinner had already been served. There was a glass of a sweet, earthy drink. It was brown in color and a little fizzy, but very relaxing. Noodles were served with round disks of some unknown meat, and a green leafy vegetable. There was also plenty of bread and a pot of tea. Zero was an excellent cook, no matter what anyone said about him. He was pretty decent.
Thought dinner he asked me questions about my past, my family, Uncle Seth, my father, Gwen... I paused not knowing what to tell him.
"I can see you cared a lot for her."
"Yes, I miss her a lot."
"She was your lover, no?"
"How did you..."
"I told you I can tell things about people. I can tell that I interest you and you don't want to act on it because you still don't trust me." He rose, moving to my side and kneeling. "As long as you are in my care, and are faithful to me I will never hurt you. I will protect you, and care for you until what time you leave this place."
He then kissed me again, kneeling there at my side, his hand on my shoulder. I closed my eyes gently falling into his kiss.
To be continued....
