The Passing Of A Hero
A sad short story i thought up, its not very long but, if you're a kind soul, it'll hit you hard right in the heart

A powerful storm rages over Equestria, a wasteland covered in destruction after a recent war, many ponies either dead or badly hurt, among the ponies is a certain purple and green dragon named spike, his form currently limp on the muddy ground, his body badly hurt from his final fight, having released a seal and ben taken over by his dark form, fighting with everything he had and taking many injuries in the process. Twilight and Rarity come across spike as the storm is letting up a bit, and instantly rarity runs to his side, twilight starting to look away and cry. As rarity takes spike into her arms, his form moves slightly and his eyes open, looking up at her with a gentle smile on his face as he reaches up, blood covering his arm*
Spike: i....i'm glad.....you're safe rarity.
Spike's hand gently rests on her cheek as he looks up at her for a few seconds more before his body falls limp once more, a final sigh escaping his lips as his last bit of life leaves him, a happy smile on his face since he knows the pony he has loved for so long, is now safe from harm. The only thing rarity is able to do is break down and sob, arms cluching the limp form of spike close to her, the rest of the mane six soon arriving as well as the other princesses and they all begin to cry as well, knowing that their best friend, one who has been with them since he was just a little dragon, gave his last in order to protect his home.

Ten years pass after the war and equestria is already looking much better than it was but there is one thing that is easily seen in the town of ponyville, a statue of their hero that also marks his burial place. Spike's body having been cremated and placed within the head of the statue, the idea for that being that even after death, with his ashes at a high place, he'll be able to watch over the town like he did 10 years ago.

But honestly, i do personally believe that spike is an under rated character and needs more screen time and character development as well as more of a backstory than simply having him be hatched and raised by twilight....spike deserves to know about his family and about where hes from......but i doubt that'll ever happen))
