This is how I became me.


I saw the valley below as another streak of lightning sheared through the darkness and torrential rain. It pleased me, knowing my home was so dangerous. It pleased me that anyone who would try to take this from me would have to risk death to do it, and that they'd likely be so weakened by the attempt to get to me that I could easily deal with them. Then I sighed.

"What have I become? Who am I now?" Thunder rumbled overhead, and as lightning flashed through the clouds above me I thought I could see Decker's mocking sneer. My fury raged to the fore in an instant, and I blasted my own lightning at the sky in defiance of the storm. "Is this what you wanted?! For me to become you, Decker?! You've got your wish then, haven't you old friend!! I'm every bit the monster you are now!"

With every breath I blasted more lightning at the sky, and soon I had strained myself to the point of physical pain but still I kept at it, blasting electricity into the sky until I had nothing left. Panting and near unconscious from exertion, I half walked, half dragged myself back to the cave I lived in and let the storm rage on as I cried myself to sleep, my rage having turned to fear. What have I become...
