Location: Yggdrasil â€" Roots

Diamond and Munchy trekked towards that large tree, that was far bigger then anything they had ever seen. As they neared it the sky had grown blacker and blacker with them stopping to admire the sheer colossal size of Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil itself looked like a massive oak tree that had a large city built inside and around it, Munchy expected the source of the universe to be a little more impressive then just a big tree.

"Yggdrasil" chanted Diamond with a sigh, he stopped to sit on a rock just where the huge roots of the tree extended into the ground. Munchy dropped himself on the grass, feeling a gentle rain on his fur, it was refreshing to his mucky and grime covered face. "That tree is the source of all life, it channels spiritual energy and maintains a stream of souls between all universes..."

Munchy nodded, he had almost had enough of all the mythological crap that seemed to be going on recently but he recognised the need to protect his home and destroy Galladia once and for all. "It's just a tree to me..." he said smiling.

"You could say that" replied Diamond, looking slightly worried that he might have given Munchy too much information that he could handle recently. The true nature of the universe was not something that Diamond should have known anyway but somehow, ever since his resurrection he had been flooded with all this advanced information. "But it is a tree that could mean the destruction of our entire existence... but the fact we are still here might mean that Galladia has not had a chance to absorb it yet?"

"Your absolutely right..." said a voice weakly as Diamond turned round to find Levantine, Blackfire, Silver and Anna all standing behind them looking drained and almost trapped. "Galladia needs a great amount of energy to absorb the whole of Yggdrasil... your friend Aries is helping her prepare."

"WHAT!?" shouted Munchy in unison. "That fucking 'orse! I knew he'd fuck it up for us."

"But what are you all doing here?" asked Diamond calmly as he stared at all four of them. They were pale images, almost as if they had no physical form at all.

"Galladia has brought us here as well to help powerful her assimilation of Yggdrasil. Our souls are bound to Yggdrasil and we can't leave" sighed Anna as she stood looking down at the floor. Levantine moved over to her and put an arm round Anna as she began to cry silently. She continued where Anna left off. "Galladia needs to sacrifice us four in order to absorb Yggdrasil..."

"Oh fuck this shit..." sighed Munchy, getting up and looking round. "This is too weird and I'm not gonna get myself nearly killed again..."

"But has Aries been absorbed into the Dark Collective?" asked Diamond who ignored Munchy's outburst. Levantine responded with a simple nod. "He has been seduced by the Dark Collective..."

"You COULD BE HELPFUL!" flamed Munchy loosing his temper. "Tell us how we cap this bitch!?"

Levantine looked over at Munchy in slight annoyance as she held the crying Anna and comforted the other two. She was the only one of the floor that actually had an idea of what was going on, the rest were just incredibly scared. She took a few seconds and nodded, staring at Silver who came forward with her and joined had.

There was a glow that emanated from them as they dispersed into pure light, making it hard to see their bodies. Diamond had to cover his eyes from the glow and eventually when it died down her looked at them.

Instead of seeing two bodies standing on the grass, he saw a huge double-sided lance which was engraved with scared writings on the front. It was huge and looked increasingly heavy. The other item on the floor was a light sword that was able to be held in one hand, Munchy looked at them in confusion as Anna and Blackfire used the same process to turn themselves in a fiery orb and a small violin-type musical instrument that could be played through the mouth.

"What the... hell?" asked Munchy in completely confusion as he stared at the collection of artifices that now lay on the grasp. "Where did they go?"

"The Divine Treasures!" exclaimed Diamond in amazement, causing his voice to be no louder then a mumble. He then looked up at Munchy. "These are the true forms of the Divine treasures, these are the people we know..."

"What... how is that possible... I sware..." complained Munchy.

"Look, shut the fuck up... we might be able to use them to destroy Galladia."

"How?" asked Munchy.

"Well... well... eh.. um... HOW THE FUCK SHOULD I KNOW? I DON'T KNOW FUCKING EVERYTHING OK?"

"ALRIGHT!" intervened Munchy. "Alright... guess we'll have to learn on the job... what ones shall I take..."

At that moment, figures started to appear from the roots of the trees, a mixture of humanoid and almost tentacle-like species began to emerge towards Diamond and Munchy, there were hundreds of different mutations from the simple absorbed Alexandrians and Terrans to species that neither of them had never seen before.

"O...k... grab the heavy one!" shouted Diamond quickly. Munchy frowned and quickly picked up Divine Lance Gungnir which instantly glowed as soon as he touched its thick hilt. Diamond grabbed Demon Sword Levantine which instantly illuminated the ancient lettering on the blade and black mist started to surround the blade of this beautifully crafted sword.

The mutations closed in on Diamond and Munchy but both of them grabbed the two other items as well. The Dragon Orb that shone beautiful fire from inside it and the Sylvian Bow which whistled with a beautiful tune.

Diamond suddenly felt pulled by Levantine as the typhoon of mist around the blade began to swirl faster and faster. "What... the hell?" shouted Diamond as the sword swung into the neck of one of mutations, decapitating it almost completely. Diamond let go of the blade and it seemed to suspend itself in the air, fighting the numerous mutations that attempted to claw at it.

"Munchy!" shouted Diamond, staring over at Gungnir starting to pull the little guy forwards , Gungnir really was massive compared to him. He looked over at Diamond. "Let go!"

Munchy released the lance that began to plunge itself deep into a mutation and back out again. Both swords were creating an open path that would lead up to the roots of Yggdrasil. The weapons were making short work of all the mutations, decapitating them and preforming complex sword skills in order to slay as many of them as possible however more just kept coming.

"They're creating a path for us!" shouted Diamond as he ran forward. The rain suddenly became more intense as if he was walking through a suddenly cold shower which seemed to soak him through his clothes as Munchy ran beside him up towards the giant stone steps that led to Yggdrasil.

The final battle was almost upon them... were they ready for the awesome power that Galladia could wield?
