Day 05- Nominations
#5 of Big Brother: The Trial
Im soooooooooo sorry this took so long to do. I got caught up with school over the past seven months. My goal for the next couple weeks is to hopefully finish this project.
Teresa and Gina walk into their bedrooms and wait until the door closes and they're completely alone before they start victory dances. The dalmatian and collie squeal until their throats hurt. They collapse on the bed, smelling the taste of bitter-sweet revenge. "I'm so excited," Teresa growls, in a good way. "Now it's time to show those bitches what girl power is made of."
"Yeah," Gina agrees. Then she sits up with gears turning in her head. "I just realized! What if that could be the name of our alliance? Girl Power." To show she's serious, she gets up and does a pose from any spy movie ever.
Teresa hops out of bed. "I like the way you think, Genes," she replies with her own matching pose. "Agent Double-O Teresa and our Eye-in-the-sky Gina. Together, they are unstoppable."
Both girls break character and giggle. Then the seriousness of the game returns. "So," the dalmatian starts, "it's obvious Brandon has to go this week. As for who to put next to him... what do we do there?"
"Not sure." Teresa takes a bite from an apple she took from the kitchen earlier. "I could put Jill up there next to him; but that would seem too personal since they've already bonded quite a bit."
"You're suggesting we nominate Brandon and Will together. Why?"
"Because, either way, it doesn't matter. It takes two votes to be rid of someone in the and we have our two right here." Teresa wraps an arm around her best friend.
The blue wolf and white shepherd sit in the bathroom, with Brandon standing under the hot shower water running from the head. He scrubs his fur with lemon scented body wash. Will smells this and immediately covers his nose. "Dude! Why do you insist on wanting to smell like a 5-year-old's lemonade stand?" he asks.
"Because, I happen to like the smell of lemons," Brandon explains. "Despite how terrible they taste." He rinses the soap suds off with the water and starts with the fur shampoo.
A pair of footsteps comes into the room. It's their vixen ally, Jill. The Triumphant Trio, Brandon thinks. It was a great ride while it lasted. But it seems that the crew is going to be separated this week. It's just that no one wants to admit it. After all, there's no way to convince Teresa to nominate Gina. Which means it's one of them this week.
The wolf decides to clear the silence. "Look, we all know I'm the target this week. Can we jst go out on a limb and say that?"
Will stands up. "Don't talk like that," he says. "Maybe there's some way we can..." One look at Jill and he stops mid-sentence, knowing that whatever he was about to say is false.
"Sorry, Will." Jill pats him on the back. "But it's unavoidable. One of the three of us is doomed to go home. Which means if we want to survive next week, then we have to beat Gina no matter the cost. Then, we send Teresa home. I mean, what're the odds Gina will actually win a competition? She's weak."
The boys look at each other and shrug. They both know that she's right. But secretly, they are communicating another issue. If Brandon leaves, that means Will will be the last guy left in the Trial. He'll be up against three females in a battle for the spot in the real competition. Those aren't very good odds.
Jill snaps then back into reality (literally). "Guys! Focus! What're we going to do, here?"
"Let's think for a second." Brandon's gears start to shift and turn. "We've had an endurance comp and a skill competition. The only other types are questionnaires."
"Ok, so who's the smartest out of all of us?" Will asks.
Jill raises her paw without shame. "I might be able to beat Gina in that kind competition."
"Good. So we have a little hope for next week."
"I'll just... leave you guys to have your... dude time. Besides, I have to get something to eat." Jill gets up and heads into the kitchen. Her stomach growls despite having a large breakfast. Maybe just a small snack, she thinks to herself. The vixen ends up grabbing a small jar or salted peanuts. She pops one in her muzzle, savoring the sweet taste of peanuts and sodium chloride when she looks over to her left and sees Teresa and Gina heading her way, both of them deep into conversation about cars.
"I'm telling ya, the my S-10 truck is getting too old to the point where it makes a weird rattling noise every time someone starts it up." Gina takes a seat on the kitchen table.
Teresa stands in front of the memory wall. "That sucks. My dad had to take his mustang up to the shop recently because the blinker wouldn't work."
Jill, feeling annoying and wanting no part in their small talk, closes the jar of nuts and walks out of the kitchen towards the bedroom. The shepherd and dalmatian see this and realize they have an opportunity for something. "Jill! Wait!" Teresa runs after the vixen and stops her in the living room.
"What do you want?" Jill asks. The last thing she wants is to talk to these two bitches who are going to chop her head off this week.
Gina tugs on her arm gently. "We want to talk to you for a second," she says. "It's about something secret."
The girls pull her into the room and close the door incase Will or Brandon happen to pass by. This only gives them a small window of opportunity to assess their situation. "First off, I want to say that I'm glad you guys put up Michael last week," Teresa lies. Her fingers crossed behind her back prove it.
However, Jill doesn't see them. She rubs her eyes and says, "I'm sorry, what? You wanted us to send home your boy-toy last week?"
"Well, not exactly. But I really am happy one of the guys are gone. If us three can stick together, we can kiss the rest of those boys goodbye." Jill opens her mouth to say something, but Teresa covers it with her paw. "Trust me! In every other reality show on SoFurry, the girls tend to fall while the guys dominate. Do you want that at all?" The vixen shakes her head no.
"I would think about this deal, Jill," Gina says. "It's not like another opportunity will come crashing through the roof. Staying with us will be the smart choice."
Jill acts like she's listening, but she already knows what she's going to do. Act like they're her friends, yet if (no, when) she wins Head of Household, she'll take them to the curb. After all, these two lame brains obviously have a Final Two deal. So why bother acting like a third wheel?
"I'll think about it," she says. Jill leaves the room to head back to her fellow friends.
Teresa then turns to Gina. "She better go through with this. I'd hate to see her go down in flames because she made the wrong mistake," she threatens.
"I agree," Gina says. "But we still can't put her up."
"Oh, goodness no. As long as she stays safe, we have a chance to win this game. Besides, she's not very strong. The odds of her winning: very slim." The collie starts to pace around the room. "Plus, if we send Brandon home, her train of thought will definitely be broken. Then we send home that white dog. Then it's you and me in the finale together."
The dalmatian nods. "Just don't get too hopeful. The last thing we need is a jinx on us."
When Brandon dries off and gets dressed, him and Will head outside to the backyard. Both of them decide to rest in the hammock after a long day. "I've got to tell you, it's very exciting to be here," Will says. Brandon nods in agreement.
"It would be even better if you didn't have to stay on your toes all the time," the wolf mutters just enough for his friend to make out the words.
The shepherd closes his eyes and breathe slowly. Suddenly, their ears perk up when they are filled with the sound of a roaring engine. Both of them sit up. "Do you hear that?" Brandon asks.
Will nods. "What in the world is it?"
Both boys look around the backyard, both coming up short. That's when they look up and see a small plane flying over them in the sky. They squint and see a banner flying off the tail.
The back door opens with Gina standing there. "Guys! You have to come inside when a plane is out!" Brandon and Will snap out of their paralysis, jump out of the hammock, and run back inside where Teresa locks the door shut.
"Sorry guys," Will says. "I didn't realize it was a plane until we looked up." And they saw a banner. He would've sworn that it said "Teresa is a liar."

The housemates, minus one sit around the dining room table waiting for Teresa to come out and begin the ceremony. Jill reaches under the table to squeeze Brandon's paw to plea good luck, yet winks at Gina when she looks at her. Will flips his fedora around in his fingers when Teresa come into the room with the nomination box. Everyone can see only two keys inside it.
The collie sets it down on the table and clears her throat. "Well, time for the next nomination ceremony," she starts out. "As everyone knows, I have to nominate two of you for possible eviction this week. I'll pull the first key and that person is safe, then they'll do the same for the next one." Teresa reaches out and pulls the first key from the box. "Gina; you're safe."
The dalmatian relaxes and takes her key. As she reaches for the next key, the Triumphant Trio no longer feels victorious. "Jill," Gina reads. "You're good." The vixen surprisingly takes her key and wraps it around her neck.
Then those without their key turn to the HoH. "Brandon and Will, I have selected you to be nominated this week," Teresa explains. "Brandon, I feel like you're a competitive beast and it threatens my game. Will, simply put, I haven't gotten to know you within these five days of being here together. With that, meeting adjourned."
Everyone slowly gets up with different things on their mind. Teresa hopes to see Brandon out the door this week, no questions asked. Will is a bit confused from her speech. Jill is surprised to see her key, but she swears that if things go her way, Teresa will live to regret ever coming after her.
