Mickey Mouse in the Public Domain - Chapter 22
Chapter 22
Evil swirled around the Mickeys as their fight carried them through the hidden depths of the ship, dark tentacles of inky blackness rising out of the depths of their souls, expanding like vines everywhere it could reach, reaching out beyond the hallways for the light, not so it could grow, but so it could absorb it, to pull it down into the darkness with it.
Mickey's heart had grown black, that was just the way it was, with mildew - or something a bit ickier, you'll have to decide for yourself, but it wasn't pretty. And apparently it was contagious, or it wouldn't be spreading out like tentacles like that. At the very least, this ship's mold problems would be way worse than what any of us had bargained for.
Hate. Pure hate. That was all Mickey saw for his enemy as he slashed again and again, not caring what muscles and tissue got in the way; he hated The Mickey, the embodiment of his curse in the Public Domain. Mickey was here, and then he was there, it was all a blur, his vision merging one moment into the next, the darkness filled with nothing but lacerating slash after lacerating slash; Mickey didn't know if his enemy was wounded, if he was wounded, all that mattered was the unceasing slash of the blade, the pain and blood nothing more than fuel for the next slash.
The fight took them to a gaping hole in the ship's floor, a deadly drop to hard steel over 100 decks below, one fall would mean instant death, but that didn't matter, because death was all that mattered.
And over the edge they fell, like it was almost automatic, no thought to it, the fight had just led them there, and carried them over the edge, nothing but pure brutal slashing occupying every thought as they plummeted uncontrolled downward.
The Mickey latched onto something on deck 76, Mickey continued downward, hitting the bottom deck full speed.
Normally Mickey would've splat, just like a pancake, then jiggled himself back together like gelatin, but his cartoon logic had already begun to slip away, being replaced by the far more sinister horror villain logic, which was way scarier, and far less realistic. As he hit the floor, every bone in his body splintered with a sicking crack, but nothing in that had stopped him, for in seconds, he was pulling himself back together, all his bones cracking back into place, a unnerving grin plastered to his face as he stared back at The Mickey who had knocked him over the edge.
So there you have it, for those of you who are still struggling to walk 8 weeks out of your total knee replacement, Mickey pulled himself up after literally breaking every bone in his body; what is your excuse?
The two Mickeys looked at eachother, one looking down, the other looking up. Then, The Mickey dropped down the last 30 or so floors after Our Mickey, shattering his own share of bones. Hobbling toward him on crooked knees, he twirled his knife, evil blackness glinting in his eyes upon his grinning face.
And like nothing had ever hindered them, they were back at it, slicing and goring eachother with nothing holding them back from that darkness overflooding their souls, carrying them deeper and deeper into the darkness of the hull.
Water sloshed at their feet; the lower decks had become waterlogged, having taken on water after their earlier crash; the air was damp and mildewed much like their souls had become, which we mention earlier.
And then The Mickey plunged his knife into Mickey's heart.
Mickey glanced down at the knife and gave a laugh. Twisting the knife, he pulled it out of his heart and threw it aside, leaving The Mickey weaponless.
"You mistake me for weak like you did for Minnie? Well, your mistake, I haven't got no heart anymore."
And then Mickey lunged at The defenseless Mickey, knocking him to the floor with a splash, and plunging his knife into him again and again. The Mickey only smiled back as Mickey descended into a fit of maniac laughter, slashing and plunging as The Mickey joined him with the laughter of his own.
Okay, I may or may not feel officially sick by this, let's visit some more pleasant characters right now.
