Spyro and Cynder's life pt1
These are mostly written ideas the life of Spyro and Cynder after the war against Malefor might go back and turn it into a proper book or something. But for now enjoy.
LEAVING WARFANG After nineteen months of living in the city of Warfang, peacefully and comfortably were not the words the young heroes would describe when it came to living in the city. For the months they stayed in their new estate in the second division of the city, it did not deter those wanting a peak of them while in their home, with some hoping to catch them mating other proposing to them and with all this going on Cynder groaned as another guard ushered a group of spies away from their home. “I can’t live like this. We need to leave the city.” “I for one agree.” Looking up as Spyro came in from the other room, a scowl was on his face as he went to the door and shouted something fierce as a small group of females and a few males scurried away. “Why can’t they leave us in peace?! Is this how they treat their ‘heroes’?” “Apparently.” She sighed while Spyro simply flopped onto the ground next to her. “Any ideas where we can build a more secluded home?” He asked, gazing up at his mate. “At the moment, no…and we will need to figure out stonemasons that will keep the secret of the location so none can find us and disturb our peace.” “Hmm, I hear the Mountainspire are rather talented builders, so possible them…but then comes the question of who will be the architectures and what will be the cost and we would need to design our own home if we are going to leave the city and not have a simple copy and paste style home.” With that in mind, it wasn’t long till the young couple worked on designing their new home and through long nights, though they have been living off the hero pensions the Elder guardians have been sending them, along with the money they have collected during the war, it would still be quite a lot of coin to hand over. For the week they have tried and tried to design their dream home yet with their artist skills lacking they eventually gave up. One afternoon, Spyro was out in the city while Cynder continued to try and figure out their home design. A lot weighed on the young dragon's mind, and yet he couldn’t figure out where to begin, sighing he stopped in the streets. “You seem more blue than purple right now.” Perking up he looked around before looking down at his shoulders smiling as Allan stood next to him. “Yeah, I just got some major decisions to make, just not sure where to begin.” “Let’s start with a drink, I’ll buy.” Smiling, they headed over to the Twin Dragon Cafe, getting a booth at one of the corners for more privacy, Allan ordered himself a red rock ale while Spyro opted to have a tropical blue serpent. “So what is on your mind?” “Huh, first off is…well I’m sure you have heard how the majority of the citizens have been treating us.” Allan nodded with a deep growl of a sigh. “So me and Cynder have decided it is time to move, and have a house of our own, and this is where all the problems come in. Since we never were a part of any traditional school we don’t have much skill beyond combat, so drawing a home is…well…they don’t look good. Second would be who do we go to to help with designing a home and who do we go to build it? Then there is the matter of coin, though we are not hurting by any means, we are just…” Spyro trailed off with a sigh. “Nervous?” Spyro nodded. “Yeah it can be nerve-wracking when it comes to building your own home, believe me I know too well, build my own home with these two hands. Now I know a rather amazing architect named Azzarius, he is the current architecture master here in Warfang, with his building of operations and team located in District three, a patient, understanding dragon and can keep a secret, he has helped design many homes here and outside the city. As for stonemasons, I know a few in the Mountainspire clan in the North and they can keep your home a secret if that is your desire. And lastly for the coin, don’t worry about it this time, I will have you two covered.” “Wait what? Really!?” Allan nodded, getting Spyro to stare a bit dumbfounded at the old being as he took a swig from his mug. “So, um, when can we set up a date to meet Azzarius?” “I believe he is available in two days, as for the masons, you would need to complete the design before I get to speak with them. Want me to set you two up.” “Yes please.” Smiling, the two finished their drinks before Spyro returned home to deliver the news to Cynder. It was a wonderful surprise to the dark blue dragoness as she was surrounded by crumpled up scrap parchments and some spilled ink, waiting for the day seemed long as the two dragons discussed what they wished for in their new home, with agreements and disagreements though they believed they had at least a fair idea as to what they wanted. Coming into the city, Allan waved them over before they headed to meet with Azzarius, coming into the room they met with a pale yellow, near white dragon with grey underside, most of his neck, limbs and end of his tail were also grey, his striking pale yellow eyes looked at the young couple before him and smiled at them. “Spyro, Cynder, welcome. Master Allan informed me you wish to design a custom home.” “Yes sir, we are…not enjoying the city life and need a new place outside the city.” “Well then, shall we get started on designing you new home?” There was no need to delay as he welcomed them into his office while Allan returned to his patrol. While in his office the young couple happily discussed what they wished for a home, something bigger than the estate they are currently living in with more space for extra rooms, a larger kitchen seeing as Spyro does most of the cooking, a dining room close to the kitchen, two guest rooms for friends only, a large living space with a small library section for Cynder’s book collection. An indoor spring for cleaning, They wished for a second level where the master bedroom would be located as well as a balcony out the front with a door leading to the master bedroom, a private spring and two empty rooms, they have some ideas as to what might be in them but Azzarius needed no clarification knowing what might be happening behind closed doors. Azzarius sketched down their ideas before the young couple watched as he brought all their ideas into one sketch, discussing how some of their ideas might need to be either shared with another space or unfortunately removed. Making the few sacrifices they watched as their dream home was slowly coming to life on the sheet of parchment before he showed them the final results. “How is this for a home? A two story building, master bedroom located here at the front on the second floor located behind the balcony, two empty rooms for your own design, one having the staircase located next to it, a deep blue stained glass dome. The main building is a large circle body with two semi circles where you have the kitchen and dining room in one, the main body is the living space, one guest room, and I even decided to have a back door and a porch for you two. On the other side, is a second guest room, your spring and the stairs leading up.” “We could not have done a better job, thank you, Master Azzarius.” Spyro smiled as Cynder was nearly in tears as their dream of having a family seemed to be drawing closer with this new home. After they left the building, and returned home, Azzarius had Allan head North to deliver a contract to the Mountainspire’s. Allan was more than happy to head North to deliver the contract, he was thinking of returning home for a while, opening a portal he made his way over to the North Mountains. Once he was in the North he made his way towards the Mountain range Northwest coming to the home of the earth dragons he was greeted like an old friend before coming to their Leader Valleris, she was more than pleased to see the designs of Spyro and Cynder’s new home and promised to keep the location of the home a secret, in honor of their alliance and friendship with the hybrid. Over the next few months Spyro had found a location outside of the city, about an hour flight away before construction began to take shape. Once the earth dragons arrived and started working, Cynder had the blueprint of their home and wanted to be there as much as she could watching as the Mountainspire dragons worked alongside either with Azzarius himself or one of his dragons he trusted with the plans. Spyro would watch and at times help the stonemasons build their home, it helped him use his earth element in more than just combat, learning from them as they cemented the stone blocks together. Many would carry the large blocks in thick rope nets lifted by two rather bulky dragons that Cynder would watch at times, admiring their form. During the months, Spyro had ventured to the temple to discuss with the Elders about selling the estate, they were a bit heart broken they were leaving the city but understood for they too have heard the many reports about the inappropriate behaviour of the citizens, wishing them luck with their new home. After nine months of hard work, Spyro and Cynder sat outside their new home, unable to fathom that this was theirs. “Shall we?” Spyro asked. “Let’s see what we have.” Walking towards the front they saw the thick wooden doors, under the balcony held up by six stone pillars, three on either side, a gold trim around the frame, breathing fire on the lock the doors revealed their new home. They had to explore their new home, the sense all around them was quiet, no guards standing before their door, just lush grassy fields, passing the small entrance hall they entered the main living space, and along one of the sides, Cynder had her reading space near a window for light near the entrance, a guest room off to the far left of the main living space, and a back door. They moved towards the kitchen, Spyro was pleased to see the oak cabinets for some of his spices, a large fire pit for cooking, and a solid well crafted oak table, Cynder recognized the work to be Allan’s own handy work, it was able to fit nine dragons around it, moving to the next room, they saw their cleaning spring and another room that was another guest room between them were the stairs heading up, and they wanted to see what was up there. Moving up, they came up to one of the empty rooms across from them, looking up to see that wonderful deep blue tinted glass roof above was nothing short of amazing. Passing through a combination of her and Spyro’s color curtains they were astounded by what laid before them. A well crafted, rounded bed the surface was smooth to the touch, smooth enough to comfortably sleep on, the room was a quarter of the upper level, leaving lots of space for whatever they desire, a door leading out to the balcony, walking out they breathed a sigh of fresh air, now they can slowly build their dreams from here, after placing furniture and other items into this wonderful new chapter of their lives. COUNCIL OF THE WEDDING As soon as word got out that Spyro proposed to Cynder a month ago, many of the elders of various clans both agreed and were against this union. Unknown to the young dragons, the Elder guardians have gathered the leaders of the clans and the guardians from Titan Fields in hopes of quilling the fire before one is even spread…unfortunately one has already begun in the Summit. Sitting around in the summit, the highest room of the Ancestral temple were the Elder guardians, led by Allan himself in the center, to his right were Solstice and Icillia, to his left were Terrnus and Zilan. Sitting to the right of the Elders were Guardians Terrador, Cyril and Volteer while across from the guardians were the clan leader, Tyndrith of Arctic Shield. Idyia of the Scions Aether. Tordorn of Storm Blade. Amareis of the Golden Flare. And Lutumir of Earthwood. And it was the ice queen herself that started the fire bringing up Cynder’s questionable past. “Objection! Cynder has a dark past that is fraught with spilled innocent blood and is unfit to be unified to the purest of dragon kind.” “And what do you propose, Tyndrith? Have the purple dragon marry into your clan? Perhaps you niece? I don’t think so. Your clan isn’t as pure as you dream it to be, and you only want him to create that mystical purple ice your clan has been chasing for centuries.” Tyndrith snarled at the white water dragoness, “And you have a better solution Idyia? Are you agreeing that our world saviour marries that abomina…” “Hold your tongue Tyndrith!” Allan shouted from amongst the Elder guardians. “I will not have anyone slander Cynder here in mine or the guardians presence. She has done more than enough to atone for her past. And le’ts not forget you captured Cynder along with Caelus, Vorsteir, and Pyrous after they defeated the golem.” Tyndrith snorted before counter arguing. “A mistake to be sure. But I disagree. One year in war against the four years of slaughtering her own kind, killing many of our soldiers and guards is hardly redeemable when there is a three year gap she needs to cover.” “And helping kill Malefor, save the world, along with helping where she could over the past two years isn’t enough for you? She and Spyro have been through hell together. I can't see another dragoness that can even come close to their bond.” “Guardian Terrador, Guardian Cyril, Guardian Volteer. You three have spent much time with these two dragons, what is your opinion on this matter?” Elder guardian Solstice asked, looking at the trio. Terrador stepped forward. “Thank you for asking Elder guardian Solstice. As you have stated, myself, guardians Cyril, Volteer, and our late elder Ignitus, along with Elder guardian and head General Allan all had the pleasure of training and watching over these young dragons over the past six years during the war, and we approve of this unification…though personally I do not see the meaning of this council when it is not our decision who Spyro marries. At twenty years of age, he is free to marry whomever he decides.” “Incorrect, Guardian Terrador. As young as he is, Spyro needs a more stable place to plant his roots. A place where unlike the city has been treating him of late he can be at peace and undisturbed. A place he can call home and have a home to create memories with his newly unified mate.” “Like what your clan has done to Malefor?” Allan growled at the ice dragoness. “Don’t forget it was partly your clan’s fault that caused Malefor’s downfall. All the fear mongering your ancestors have caused and the horrific rumors others spread about him. Not too mention Terrador is correct, Spyro can marry whomever he wishes.” “Terrnus…you have been awfully quiet over there.” Solstice looked over to her far left seeing the strongly built earth dragon pondering everything. “I am undecided about this unification. Yes Spyro can marry Cynder, or whomever he wishes, yet I can see the points Tyndrith is making, Cynder has committed sever crimes over the past years, even I have felt them personally, killing many from my own clan and some of my personal templars here at the temple. But she has made an attempt to atone for them over these past years and that speaks to me that she is trying to redeem her past, that is good enough for me.” For the next few hours, Tyndrith continued to banter and try to convince the others that Cynder wasn’t the best pick for Spyro, and out of the group of thirteen dragons in the summit, only four were convinced Cynder should not marry Spyro, yet those four believed he would do better being unified to one of their own clan members before Amareis called for a recess. With temperatures needing to be cooled, many left the summit, wandering the halls of the temple, Allan and Solstice learned that Terrnus had lost his son, a Commander in the Military of the 62nd Regiment for nineteen years and was killed by Cydner herself, hence his skepticism towards the young dragoness. “I’m sorry old friend, I never knew.” Solstice spoke with sympathy. “It is alright, not your fault, but Allan, tell me. How do you manage to accept her when you know many dragons fell under her very claws, some of your own personal soldiers as well?” “I do not blame her for her actions, in fact I feel bad for not being there to save her. Yes she was semi aware of what she was doing yet the darkness that had affected her controlled her movements, so she really had no say of who she hurt or what she did. Yes I lost some good dragons but I do not blame her, she already feels terrible for her actions. She has tried to punish herself while we were still at war, even tried to take her life from the guilt, thankfully Spyro and her friends saved her and convinced her to live. I blame only those who manipulated her into using her as a tool.” Terrnus took what Allan said into consideration before it was time to return to the summit and once more listened to the invalid argument of who Spyro should marry. Returning to the summit the Elder guardians took their spots while the rest of the council returned and sat across from the Elder’s, and as the Elder’s expected, Tyndrith was the first to speak up. “Again, I say Spyro will be more at home at Arctic Shields than living on his own, he will be unified to my granddaughter and future heir to the clan, and should he desire, he can breed as many females as he desires.” “And how could your granddaughter help calm him? Help him with his trauma from the war? And really…you want Spyro to breed more than one female? If you know the young dragon, he would not betray the one he is unified to by breeding others. We have seen his devotion towards his friends and most importantly Cynder. A loyal dragon. He belongs with Cynder.” Cyril spoke up. “Guardian Cyril, Many of the clans wish for Spyro to intermingle with many of their members in each clan to create new unique dragons. I am the only one voicing it.” She glared at the other council members. “Besides I will even pay him to breed.” “So you would whore out our saviour.” Icilia raised an eye ridge. “If any clan he would be comfortable in would be Earthwood, if I recall, his father was a member of that clan.” “You are correct.” Lutumir turned to the ice elder. “His father, if records are correct, was Terracon, a well respected, well known, fierce, devoted and remembered templar, he is written down in our history as possibly the bravest templar to this day and married to Amateris of Igniscrest. So he could be a part of either Earthwood or Igniscrest. Yet we are not here to discuss his clanhood. Spyro proposed to Cynder a month ago and she agreed and nearly all of Warfang is anticipating this unification; it will be the largest unification this city has ever seen in centuries.” “Be that as it may, a half breed is not worth the affection one such as Spyro is giving out.” Idyia growled before turning towards the ice dragoness. “Half-breed? That is a low insult, even from the likes of you. She is a well respected dragoness and a member of the Zephyr kingdom. She is the one Spyro wishes to marry and breed. Yes I too wish for him to marry my niece, yet it is not my call to have him breed those he does not wish to intermingle with.” Allan rested his hand against the side of his head as yet another argument broke out among the clan leaders and the guardians, many trying to convince that Spyro was more suited to be a part of their clan or marry Cynder. Yet Allan looked at the sun as it was midday already and whether the vote was approved or not, he knew within a week was their wedding day and with the dragons of Warfang behind them there was no stopping the wedding, decorations were already underway, friends and their families were gathering for the big day and along with the spot at Earth Peak ruin Spyro had selected would make it difficult for anyone to say no to the wedding. Listening to the small sparks of electricity escape his friend's nostrils more from annoyance, Zilan shouting out as lightning caught the others attention. “Enough! Perhaps instead of constantly arguing for another few hours of who gets Spyro and why. Why not bring this to a close with a vote.” “Agreed, Zilan. All those in favor of the unification?” Solstice called out. Many paws and a hand rose in the sky, much to Tyndrith’s displeasure. “Those against the unification?” Tyndrith and three more paws rose into the sky, it was clear they were out voted. “It is decided, the unification of Spyro and Cynder will commence.” “And a word of warning.” All turned to Allan. “Should any of those opposed to the unification disrupt the unification, or interfere in their lives after the unification, try to break them apart, force Spyro to breed others, hold Cynder hostage, I will personally have them tossed into the dungeon before a proper punishment is sentence and will remain in the dungeon until the punishment is over and you learn to accept them as a couple. Now let’s make sure this wedding go without a hitch and make it the best day of our saviours lives.” Many smiled and followed Allan outside as he levitated himself while Tyndrith was sitting in the summit dumb struck by how many denied her, her dream of possibly finally getting her dreamed purple ice dragon. Despite his size, she dared not cross Allan less he stripes her of her title of her clan and membership of the council. She sighed more to herself before leaving the summit, yet she wasn’t done trying to get the purple dragon’s seed inside her granddaughter. Solstice looked over to Allan who was now riding on Zilan and smiled, “something tells me you knew council or no council, there was going to be a wedding.” “I did, but I also knew things needed to be quilled before the wedding was interrupted and ruined for them because others disapproved of the unification.” “Sly old man.” “You don’t reach my age by not learning a few things, now come on, a wedding needs our attention.” GIFT FOR THE BRIDE: Racing through the city, Spyro was looking for a jewel smith yet a majority of the jewel stores and other stores were closed in preparation for the upcoming wedding, his wedding. Panting he saw a fire dragon about to leave his shop and Spyro picked up the pace as fast as his legs could carry him and gave a yell. “HEY!” The fire dragon turned to see the purple dragon panting as he neared the shop. “P-please…don’t close…shop…” Grunting he sat down holding his side from the cramp that made itself known. “Take your time, young hero.” Spyro smiled and took a few deep breaths, before sitting up right to look at the fire dragon patiently waiting for him. “Thanks. I need a jewel smith to…help me forge a set of bracelets for Cynder. But I wish to be the one to forge them. I just need…” “Someone to supervise?” Spyro nodded. “Well if you wish to work on the bracelets, I will be more than happy to make sure she gets the finest materials.” Smiling as the fire dragon opened up his doors to the purple dragon, walking in he saw many well crafted items sitting upon shelves that were lined up upon rows after rows before taking him to the forge and Spyro was amazed by what was needed to create even a simple bracelet. A large round coal forge, a few different size hammers, an anvil, a stone workbench and a quench barrel. The fire dragon explained that mostly fire dragons can hold the hot metals by manipulating the temperature around their paws so as to not burn themselves while dragons of the other elements need tongs to handle the steel, yet earth dragons often are able to blend metals far better than the others. The fire dragon named Ayerz watched as the young purple dragon picked out some brass, and ignited the forge. Ayerz helped Spyro figure out the right size of Cynder’s forearms before placing the steel into the forge. Over the next few hours Ayerz supervised and informed Spyro how to forge the bracelet, using the anvil and slowly pound the heated steel around the horn of the anvil, slowly turning the steel around forming the shape he desired. Inch by inch the outer edges slowly grew closer to one another. Spyro played with his elements, heating up his paws to grip the heated steel, placing it in and pulling out of the fire, moving the coal and keeping the fire going seemed like a futile thing until Ayerz showed him a small trick to keep air moving through the pit. Once the edges overlapped Spyro was shown small tools to puncture the heated steel, punching two small holes before placing two small pins through them using a heated claw to cut the pins to size before pinning it over. Now it was time for the gem and where he wished to place it. With night creeping, Spyro was still adamant on forging the bracelets despite yawning and having a few fingers wrapped in bandages. Spyro used his paw gently pushed aside the metal in the center forming a cup of sorts before looking around at the many gemstones that were placed off to the far end of the forge, Ayerz watched as Spyro picked two gems and to his surprise used his earth element to split and combined an amethyst and a sapphire before smoothing out the slip to were they fit together in the center of the bracelet in the cup. “Good now tighten up the edges of the cup around the gem.” Tightening the edges around the gem securing it in place before smoothing it out. Though Ayerz offered to do the eching, Spyro once more heated up a claw and did the etching himself, shocking the fire dragon, and making him smile having never thought of doing that trick himself, he felt Spyro had some potential as an apprentice. Once the bracelets were finished Spyro placed them on the stone workbench, standing back admiring his work before yawning again, nearly locking his jaw. “Ow…” Ayerz chuckled, walking over to the young dragon, placing a paw on his shoulder. “You are welcome to stay at my place for the night, or if you wish I can escort you home.” “Home please.” Nodding he escorted Spyro towards the entrance before Ayerz moved towards the bracelets, picking one up, looking over the details, within eight hours he was impressed, it often takes him ten hours to finish a bracelet separated in two days, though the etching was well done with his claws, there wasn’t anything fancy but to Cynder, it would mean the world to her. “Boy has some talent…wonder if he’s interested in being an apprentice and work here?” Heading back to the entrance, he and Spyro left the store once he locked it and together took to the sky, keeping the young dragon awake enough to make the journey outside the city before coming home. Cynder saw the two dragons and met them on the balcony, escorting her soon to be unified mate into their fairly new bedroom. “Thank you for bringing him home…mind keeping our location to yourself, please.” “Of course Cynder, I understand your asking.” Taking back to the night sky he headed home for the night. THE UNIFICATION The day of the unification had arrived after a month of planning and two weeks of decorating, setting things up and making sure the place was perfectly set for everyone. Spyro looked from the platform situated before a cliff overlooking Paradise Bay, the soft sandstone was a homey feeling, the pillars encased the platform around him. Breathing in before letting out a long exhale; he felt more at ease here than in the city. Smiling to himself after everything he had to go through, his one dream was slowly becoming a reality. The soft clicking of claws against the stone caught the young purple dragon’s ears. “You doing alright young dragon?” Terrador’s booming voice came over. The earth dragon had a cape draped over his right shoulder, with a chain forming an x over his elemental sigil hanging over his chest, a pauldron strapped to his left shoulder along with vambracers on his forearms. “Yeah, just thinking, trying to make myself believe this is real.” “The wedding or the scenery?” He asked, sitting next to the groom, taking in the scenery himself. “Both. This is the ideal wedding I have dreamed of. Here at Earth Peak ruins, overlooking the beautiful waters of Paradise Bay, and about to wed the most beautiful dragoness in the realm.” “Indeed, I am pleased you are settling with Cynder, and moreover, picking this view, not many dragons wish to have a unification in old ruins, yet Earth Peak has the, dare I say, perfect ruin to have a unification.” “You would think it wasn’t ruined at all, but it was always like this.” “Indeed. I suggest you go get into your armor, young dragon.” Smiling Spyro headed off as Terrador smiled feeling proud he was the one to marry Spyro to Cynder, looking up he smiled more to himself. “Terracon, my friend, you would be so proud of your boy, becoming a fine young dragon, bless this day with yours and Amateris presence.” While Spyro headed off to see his armor, Cynder, Lynerus, Ember and the tailor marvelled at Cynder’s gown, it was a blend of her colors, dark blue and magenta, somewhat transparent, her collar was silver with small runes on it, a small emerald necklace hung in the center of the collar, along the edges of her robes were the dragon runes. Cynder smiled at the collar that snaked around her neck and the one on her horn also holding an emerald gem. “You look beautiful, Cynder.” Lynerus smiled at her friend's wedding attire. “Thank you. Can you believe it? I’m getting married.” She half shouted with excitement, getting their tailor to smile. “And the location Spyro picked is amazing.” “It is a wonderful view…wonder what he has planned for a honeymoon?” Ember smiled, getting Lynerus and Cynder to do so in turn. “Knowing him, it will make me squeal like a little girl, he never ceases to amaze me. Um shall we get going?” Cynder turned to her tailor. “Not yet Lady Cynder, Master Allan, Master Cyril and Master Volteer are still getting the quests seated and ensuring all that were invited are here and those that were not are escorted back to where they came.” With time to spare they looked at the other designs more for Lynerus as she wished to have the tailor here for her wedding as well. While Ember wasn’t quite ready for a commitment like this with Flame yet. Outside Allan already had to get his guards to escort a few uninvited guests while Cyril and Volteer, like Terrador wore their ceremonial armor with their own elemental sigil hanging over their chests, seated everyone to their proper place, with relatives and friends near the front and others behind them. Making sure all decorations were set in place one last time, the chiefs were cooking the meals, many clans and restaurants provided. As everyone were situated, behind the stone walls, Spyro looked himself over in his custom made armor Allan had a friend forage for him, a two segmented breastplate with the aether emblem on them, same with his two segmented pauldrons and vambracers that were adorned with a sapphire. His cape rested on his back and left shoulder, black with white trim with the dragon runes in purple running along the trim, Allan made his way over to the young purple dragon, dressed in a white tunic with silver embellishments at the front, the tunic reached mid thigh, with a black belt with brass accents and clasp. Black pants and boots matched his overcoat with silver trim, he didn’t need to wear any sigils or armor, everyone knew who he was. His hair finely combed and pulled behind his head, some would think it was his wedding. “Not getting cold feet now are you?” “Ancestors no…just emotional right now.” Spyro couldn’t think of all the feelings he was going through but Allan smiled, knowing the feeling himself many years ago. Without saying anything else he led Spyro up to the platform before taking his place next to his guards while Caelus stood next to his friend as Flame sat on one of the stairs below. With a quick nod, Allan got the bard to play the lute in a gentle tune. Many rose as Spyro stared dumbfounded at the beauty walking down the isle. Two young wind dragons let white petals fall before Cynder as she made her way towards the platform, her robe was fully across her back, swaying ever so gently with each step. Dragons bowed before her as she made her way down the aisle with Bryvir, Caelus’ uncle and friend of her mother, climbing up the stairs he handed her paw to Spyro as she sat next to the young dragon with Lynerus behind her, looking across to her own soon to be unified while Terrador walked behind them taking his place. “Honored guests, families and friends welcome to a very special unification. Today with the ancestors as our witnesses we are gathered here today to bring together two very special dragons. Spyro son of Terracon and Cynder daughter of Rhysera.” Terrador smiled down at the two for a minute before continuing his speech. “I ask each of you to repeat after me. Spyro. I Spyro take thee Cynder daughter of Rhysera as my beloved unified mate. To love and nurture. To guide you through the vicissitudes of destiny. From this day forward I shall take care of thee.” “I Spyro take thee Cynder daughter of Rhysera as my beloved unified mate. To love and nurture. To guide you through the vicissitudes of destiny. From this day forward I shall take care of thee.” “Cynder. I Cynder take thee Spyro son of Terracon as my beloved unified mate. To love and nurture. To guide you through the vicissitudes of destiny. From this day forward I shall take care of thee.” “I Cynder take thee Spyro son of Terracon as my beloved unified mate. To love and nurture. To guide you through the vicissitudes of destiny. From this day forward I shall take care of thee.” “May we have the tail rings?” Flame walked up bearing a set of highly decorated tail rings, one of gold and purple and the other silver and deep blue Spyro and Cynder placed the respected rings midway on their tails. “May the ancestors above grant you peace and unconditional love for each other. You may kiss the bride.” Smiling, Cynder leaned forward and Spyro met her halfway, as the crowd applauded and cheered loudly as the young saviours sealed their love in one passion filled kiss, breaking the kiss they walked down the isle as one, tails intertwined with their friends trailing behind them. While the others left, Terrador looked up and smiled as a vine of deep olive and a fiery orange twirled into a heart that was above the young dragons, as a soft wind blew across his scales, while the shadows above also resembled a large heart on this day a sign from both their parents they were watching and pleased with their children. With the ceremony of the century over, the couple took to the dance floor starting out slow and alone as the others watch, soon Lynerus and Caelus joined them before other couples slowly joined them then after an hour the meet and greet of the newlyweds began, something Cynder, even now, was never a huge fan of large crowds, after the many threats cursed her way after her release from darkness yet with her new unified mate beside her, she could handle this. Over the next few hours many dragons came up and chatted with the young dragons enjoying the friendly conversations with them, some finding just how…ordinary they were even with their power, they were no different when compared to regular dragons. Some of those around their age seemed to find a possible friend within them. As dinner was soon served out, the conversations never ended as some would come up sharing a drink and ask a few questions before moving on. Spyro looked over to his mate, pulling her in with his wing letting her know he was proud of her handling this very well. Turning over he nodded to Caelus, getting the wind dragon to move off. “Hey, Cyn…if you permit me, I have a small gift for you.” Turning to her mate with a curious glance she eyed her mate for a second before nodding as curiosity crept into her mind wondering what he had for her. “Should have told me we were doing gifts, I got nothing for you. And don’t be cheesy and say my love is enough you dork.” Spyro chuckled, she knew him well enough to counter him before he could speak. Caelus arrived with a fair sized box, shifting the box towards her, Cynder unravelled the wrapping, removing the top before covering her mouth in a silent squeal. Inside the box were bracelets made from brass and in the lighting gave it a soft gold appearance, an etching that was a heart mixed with a diamond, along with runes across the top and bottom all around an amethyst and sapphire gem in the center. “S-Spyro, these are gorgeous, where did you get these?” “I pawmade these myself under the supervision of a Master jewelsmith. I wanted to personally craft you something special as a wedding gift.” There was no hiding her tears as Cynder hugged her mate, thinking he had gone out to hangout with Flame, but this was a wonderful surprise for her, his own paws crafted his love for her. With the passing of supper shortly after cake was brought out, as soon as the first piece was sliced, Cynder pushed it into his snout, getting many to laugh in turn Spyro took what was left and caught the side of her face before sharing a newly sliced piece. The evening started winding down, it wasn’t long before dragons moved from the ruins back towards the city of Cliffwall. With Spyro, Cynder, their friends and the guardians being the last ones to remain in the ruins. Before leaving, one fire dragon turned back and invited the newlyweds and their friends to stay at his place, returning to the city of Cliffwatch they arrived at his home where he opened his doors to them for the night. SPYRO’S JOB After six months after the wedding and all the fun times afterwards, Spyro was starting to grow restless. Training did nothing to ease this restlessness, and Cynder noticed this. Walking out to their balcony, she handed Spyro a cup of cinnamon tea before speaking. “So what is bothering you?” “Hah, I’m not sure, its just this…I guess a desire to do something. The time in the war, surviving on my own had me doing something, now that we have our dream home, each other, and all the nights to brighten the skies. I have enjoyed the down time but…” “Now you wish to be active again? Mating isn’t enough for you?” Spyro chuckled at how much they have mated already these past six months since their wedding, and he always enjoyed their rumps. “It is more than enough for me, but I guess it is something for me to do. We have plenty of money from the war and the hero pention the guardians are giving us for being saviours. But I don’t know what to do.” Cynder walked inside for a minute, coming to her table that held some of her finery before spotting her bracelets and recalled when Spyro presented them to her on their wedding day, pawcrafted himself and that made her grab one before coming back out. Spyro watched as she presented her bracelet to him. “Why not do this? Craftsmithing. You made these yourself so why not go and ask to be an apprentice?” Spyro stared at the bracelet then back to his mate, smiling he handed her back the bracelet, giving her a peak on the check before placing his cup on the railing as he then took to the sky. Cynder smiled, knowing she helped her beloved dawn find something to do. “Hope he brings home some new crafted items.” She smiled to herself. Spyro though about what Cynder presented and was rather surprised yet pleased he might find a job, thinking about when he first made those bracelets and though he had a few bruised fingers, it was rather enjoyable making something. “Ancestors please let him be searching for an apprentice.” The hour flight seemed shorter today as he soon flew over the walls of the city as many dragons waved at him, waving back he flew towards the general area where he remembered where the store was. Moving over the districts Spyro saw the shop and descended down to the streets, walking over towards the shop, the doors opened up he walked in and got a better look at the shop. Shelves housing many well crafted bracelets, horn rings, tail rings, chokers, some were adorned with gems, others had different blends of metals with so much more. “Ah Spyro, welcome back,” Turning around he saw the fire dragon Ayerz coming from behind the curtains. “Master Ayerz, how are things?” “Steady, got a few new jobs underway. What brings you back young one? Got another gift you wish to make for your lovely mate?” “Actually…I was wondering if you are looking for an apprentice.” Spyro asked, rubbing the back of his head nervously. Ayerz smiled, “I would be honored to have you as my apprentice.” Motioning his tail for the young purple dragon to follow him into the forge “Alright, so I saw first hand how you played with your elements while forging, and I have to say, I was impressed, but if you wish to be crafting for others, then let's hone your skills. Let us start with another bracelet, follow these simple designs.” Nodding Spyro got the forge going once more and began following the diagram, picking out the specific steel ingot it asked for and began the process of forging once more. Over the next two weeks, Ayerz had Spyro craft minor items getting him use to utilizing his elements in crafting, blending and playing with various metals, using his claw to etch in details. Making sure he knows the different variety of gem cuts, the purity, and shades of the colors, wanting him to distinguish them before placing them in the item and sealing them in. While Spyro recognized himself with the forge and the tools there was another side to the job and one dragoness he had befriended during his times was the daughter of Ayerz, Pyralis. A blue fire dragoness that was the artist and desk worker of the shop. “Hmm, your artistic skills have improved since the last time, but you may want to clarify some of your etchings along the sides so others might know what you are trying to show.” Smiling, he slowly took his time and redrew his designs and made sure his engravings were more clear, making Pyralis smile. Spyro learned more art tips from her, she was pleased he was taking some time to develop his skills in art and she had become his teacher, not a fancy Master or an artist that spent years in the trade, it was her, his friend. As those weeks slowly turned into months Spyro slowly became better at working the tools and utilizing his earth and fire elements creating more advanced pieces while Ayerz watched and forged some of his own pieces, even showing him how to identify certain customers and the type of jewelry and gems they often preferred. All while the items he crafted, the better ones were placed on the shelves and he got to watch as dragons bought his items, not even knowing they were crafted by him until purchasing the items, making him feel rather proud that others will be wearing his work. Cynder watched each day as he became more delighted he had something to do and it made him get out and moving, though she was never a fan of seeing him come home with his fingers bandages, or his paw burned, but knew it was minor compared to the scars barely visible along his right side. Ayerz walked in to see Spyro and Pyralis sitting at the front once more working on his artistic skills, both looked up seeing the elder fire dragon walking over towards them. “Spyro, you have a talent for this kind of work, never have I seen a dragon improve and adapt in such a short time. Though there is more to learn, I think this could be the place for you young dragon to continue your improvements.” “Thank you Master Ayerz, so um when do you wish for me to arrive to begin work? I know most other jobs have set times to begin work but you haven’t told me when ours usually is.” “We do not have one, I am often here early morning to clean and place items on the shelves, then make sure all tools are cleaned, and check supplies, if I don’t do that Pyralis has a list waiting for me.” “And I show up not nearly as early as dad, but still in the late morning sometimes even in the afternoon, we then go home roughly the same time unless he has a larger commission to work on and he stays behind. So I think it is safe to say, you can decide your own hours Spyro was impressed by this and thanked Ayerz for the opportunity to work here, and thanked Pyralis for the art tips. Flying home Spyro felt pleased he was going to be more like an average dragon now with a paying job than living on the hero pension the Elder guardians were paying them. CYNDER’S JOB Resting in the temple’s library after coming to the city with Spyro as he went to work, she sought inspiration for the empty room and even their own master bedroom. With a few old historian books, she looked through images of old draconic castles or estates that are now ruins, such as the beautiful castle Heliodor of Earth Peak. On her table were many small pieces of parchment with some already having some sketches on them, though her skill wasn’t as defined as her mates, he had helped teach her some techniques as she slowly improved before started drawing on her own. Some of her parchments were already filled with ideas, laying in a small pile while she took a small nap in the light coming from the window while the librarian smiled and made sure those that entered did not disturb her. Looking through the scroll of books, the librarian heard the doors roll open, glancing up she saw a young lightning dragon walk in and vanished behind a shelving unit as she returned to her scroll and the books next to her. Scrolling the shelves the young lightning wandered down the isles before coming to the section he was searching for yet the books he was searching for were missing, curious he walked over towards the counter before stopping in his stride to see the books nested around a sleeping Cynder. Softly moving towards her, he gazed at the open books before looking down at the parchments and their sketches they held, looking over his shoulder to see the librarian moving books around he picked up and looked through the drawings. Selecting a few he moved towards the doors before a cough made him turn and looked into the cold eyes of the librarian. “Those do not belong to you young dragon. I suggest you return them to her.” “I will, but she has a natural eye for detail that might catch the eye of my Master, he is looking for such a dragon.” Before the librarian could counter argue him, he left, making her frown. She wished to go after him, yet she did not wish to leave the sleeping dragoness alone, growling as she sat down and waited, praying to the ancestors that she doesn’t wake until he returns. The lightning dragon moved through the halls of the temple before coming to the section he came from, moving through the temple he arrived at where his master was finishing talking to flight master. “Master Azzarius, you have to see these brilliant pieces.” Cocking an eye ridge he took the sheets and carefully looked over them, some were nicely sketched and he recognized some of the older designs while spotting rather unique sketches that caught his eye, and some that seemed more private getting to him glance up at his worker swiftly before returning to the drawings. “Indeed, these are rather wonderful…did you or one of our own designers do these?” “N-no sir…” “Then who did?” He glared up. His worker rubbed the back of his neck before leading Azzarius back towards the library meeting that cold stare from the librarian again and she watched as he was placing the sheets back on the table, just as Cynder stirred and looked up to see him taking her drawings. “THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!” Before he could speak, she blasted him with her siren scream, getting him to drop to the floor like a frightened cat. “You thought it would be alright to steal my ideas while I was napping! Some of those ideas are very personal! Were you planning on blackmailing me with them?” “No, dear Cynder he wasn’t.” Looking up, her eyes that were glaring down at the young lightning dragon soon widened when she recognized the owner of the voice. “Master Azzarius? W-what are you…” “My sincerest apologies Cynder, this is one of my designers Blitzius, also my nephew. He had already taken your designs and shown them to me, I believe he did not see them all, otherwise he may not have shown them to me. Though I must say, my dear, you have a rather unique eye for detail and using old designs and bringing them into a new light is a brilliant idea…plus I rather liked some of your more private ideas.” Cynder’s cheeks flushed at his last comment. “Y-yeah, no one was too…” “And no one will know of them, my dear. But while we are here and after seeing some of your beautiful design choices for additions, or renovations to your own house are rather special and the details you show are remarkable. How would you like to be a member of my personal design team?” Once more her eyes widened at the request, she didn’t have any intent of looking for a job but now with one being offered to her surprised the young dragoness. “I can offer to help with your artistic skills, if you desire. You will get paid to travel to see some ruins of your choosing for inspiration, and make a small vacation of the travels as well. You get to oversee custom and contract constructions. And in my team it is like working with family, I allow no misbehaving…speaking of that, when will the paralysis wear off?” He pointed to his nephew quivering on the ground still. “Another hour, I gave him a rather powerful dosage. And yes. I would be honored to join your team, when do you wish for me to start…do we get benefits on construction prices?” She asked sheepishly, seeing him smiling as to why she was asking. “We do. And whenever you feel ready to join my team, you can find me here at the temple or in District three where my main building is. But while I have an hour to spend here, let's have a proper look at your new designs.” Cynder moved some of her books over, showing him which one of the old castles she got the inspirations from while explaining some of her design choices. CYNDER’S TEAM For a few months Cynder has been going to District three where Azzarius said his main building was where herself and many other dragons were under the tutelage of the lightning dragon on customizing many houses and towers, some dragons seemed to specialize in the contract style of building while Cynder along with a few others more enjoyed the custom building, even if it meant dealing with picky clients. Azzarius watched as some of the dragons seemed to separate themselves into different teams yet continued to work as a full cohesive team, something he was pleased to see. As time passed, those with contracts often had a team already assembled for them but Azzarius knew those doing custom work would need to pick their team from a number of dragons with the training of stonemasonry, often earth dragons, but unknown to him Cynder was at home wondering about how to assemble her team. Cynder groaned as she sat in her reading corner, looking up from his design plans, Spyro saw the stress on his unified mate's face. Walking over he nuzzled her before she returned the gesture. “What has my night flower so bothered?” “My team. Or lack of one. Master Azzarius usually has a team ready for those dealing with contract designs, but for those doing the custom ones, we need to assemble our own team trained in stonemasonry. A team with good people skills, manners…but finding such dragons can be tricky. And honestly I don’t want all earth dragons on my team.” “I’m sure you will find a suitable team. And if I can help in any way you know I will, sending dragons to find you that are looking for a job.” Smiling, he nuzzled her nose, having worked his job for a good year and a half now he understood the criticism of clients and how picky some dragons can be. Over the next two weeks Cynder would move through the various districts of the city in search of dragons she had hoped to be able to work with her. Many moved about either going to work, some came by and asked for her autograph while others simply wanted a quick sketch with her, but none seemed interested into working with her or had friends in search of jobs. Coming to an outside cafe, she came to rest as a fire orange and red dragoness came by handing Cynder her chai tea, hearing the dark blue dragoness mumble something. “Aarrggh…who would be willing to work on custom houses?” “Sorry for eavesdropping but are you looking for something?” Looking up Cynder locked eyes with the fire dragoness, her golden eyes seem to stare back into her emerald eyes. “Yeah, I’m just starting out as a custom architect but I need a team to work with me in doing the actual building of the homes. One with some training in laying stone, at least decent manners and of course taking orders.” The dragoness seemed in thought before speaking. “I actually have a roommate that has training as a stonemason but wished to be on a custom team, though there are few and far between districts and after three years of searching he gave up. If you can come by tomorrow around the same time I can bring him over.” “That would be wonderful. Thank you.” Nodding with a smile she left as some other clients called her over. With hopefully one dragon down she needed four more but Warfang is a massive city and with many jobs lined up and few with the training she is specifically looking for. Finishing her tea Cynder continued her roaming with some interest but none ready to commit then and there. After the long day she returned home to have the sweet smell of dinner assault her nostrils, walking over to the kitchen she smiled as Spyro was moving about adding some herbal spices to the turkey, pickled beets resting on the plate. Walking by, she rubbed his tail with hers, getting his tail to intertwine with hers as she began peeling at a few potatoes. “How was your day?” “Long. I have a possible one dragon that I will be meeting tomorrow, a few others interested but had no interest in taking orders from me. Others did not have the training, some wanted to be with me…in a different manner that I refused and told them to go into the abyss. Other than that, no such luck. How was yours?” “Descent. Made a pair of tail rings for a soon to be unified couple, forged a few horn rings and a complete set for a rather wealthy client that wants intricate designs along the edges of their jewelry. And I think I may have found another dragon to add to your team, yes he is an earth dragon but has the training and seemed rather polite so I recommended for him to come back tomorrow and then we can look for you.” “I will be at the Blue Flame cafe around noon.” Sharing another wonderful dinner and a surprise desert, they spend an eventful night together before falling asleep. With the following morning, Spyro turned and to his surprise Cynder had already left, a rarity for her to be up before him. Coming down to the main living space a smile crept along his face seeing a blueberry muffin, his favorite with a small note in Cynder’s writing. Thank you for helping me hun, I honestly hope this works out and thank you for the amazing night last night. The mess is cleaned up, and I wanted to get an early start, hope this muffin makes up for my early disappearance. Taking the muffin he headed to the city to begin his day. Already moving about in the city Cynder was walking with a red lightning dragoness enjoying a conversation. “Of course I would be honored to work with you, Cynder. It would be a better thing than working in that overly-bearing tavern my brother is setting up.” “Wonderful. I’m glad there will be another female on the team. If you can write me where you live, I can send you a messenger to tell you where to meet me once I have a full team.” Handing her a sheet of parchment, the lightning dragoness scribbled down her address, thanking her Cynder and the lightning dragoness continued to walk until she turned a corner as the dark blue dragoness carried on. Looking up it was nearing noon, she flapped her wings moving over to the next district she returned to the Blue Flame cafe, seeing the fire dragoness working outside again she landed before the cafe, walking towards an empty table she waved her wing getting the dragoness to nod and after dealing with the client went inside. Waiting a few minutes she saw the dragoness coming with a green fire dragon and to her surprise a chai tea. “Welcome back, this is my roommate. Soveral.” “It is a pleasure to meet you. I hear you are a mason looking to do custom job.” “Yeah with no success. Three years of searching with nothing. Embira said you are searching for a team?” “Yes as a matter of fact I am and…” Cynder stopped as an earth dragon seemed wandering around the place until his eyes seemed to lock onto Cynder as he made his way over. “Apologize for the interruption but your unified mate had sent me over here saying you were looking for a mason?” “No worries. And you are?” “Forris.” “Pleasure, this is Soveral. If you two are okay with working with me, I would be more than happy to have you guys on my team.” With both dragons happily agreeing to work with Cynder, a small smile brushed across her face now having three dragons in her team. Continuing to speak with the males for a bit longer before they dismissed themselves as she too left the cafe, taking flight she headed for the temple, flying towards the headquarters where Master Azzarius was, she headed in. Some of the dragons there smiled and waved at her, waving back before she arrived at Azzarius’ room, he saw the smile on her face, listening as she has three dragons in her team. Azzarius was pleased she was finding success now it would be a matter of time before she could claim her first client. Before leaving the temple she got a messenger to send a letter to the lighting dragoness she was talking to this morning letting her know she was on board. With the messenger leaving she headed home more than happy she could start her job shortly. TYNDRITH’S SCHEME Pacing around her great hall, Tyndrith was still rather furious of the decision of the council two years ago now, the idea Spyro would be impregnating Cynder with children that should be in her niece and granddaughter. Though she still feared Allan would bring down a harsh punishment and strip her of her positions, she did not want that dark half breed to bear any of his children. Hearing the doors roll open to show a light grey ice dragon with light blue ice swirls along his body, with a black underside and horns with light blue along the edges. “You summoned me Chief Tyndrith?” “Yes I did Wintus. I want you to bring me Spyro.” “Y-you want m-me to do what.” “Did you hear me stutter!?” Turning, her cold glare froze the young guard as she moved towards him. “I want you to bring me the purple dragon here. I will not have his seed wasted on that dark hybrid. Drain his power, restrain him, render him unconscious, do whatever you need to, to bring him. I don’t care how you do it, just do it.” Bowing before the light grey, nearly white dragoness he left the chamber. Heading into the city he could not believe what was asked of him. To capture the saviour of the world felt like the biggest crime he and his clan would be making, the most loved dragon to be captured to merely impregnate two or more dragonesses just to see if any will be the famous purple ice their clan has been after since before Malefor. Torn between listening to his Matriarch and his gut while he continued to fly over the city, a heavy sigh escaped him many dragons did not question the matriarch of their clan, even her own children have scars from disobeying her, some have become outcasts and avoid coming back to the clan. As much as he wished to continue supporting the Arctic Shield banner, he also wanted to live a life where terror was not the way to rule over every dragon in the clan. Landing in the district where Spyro has been seen the most, to his surprise some other guards were patrolling the district, sighing to himself again he moved about as though he was on patrol as well, and none questioned him. Wintus watched as guards and civilians ignored him while his blue eyes scanned for the purple scaled dragon. With the hours slowly moving by with the sun, Wintus continued walking the streets before a yellow spaded tail caught his gaze and slowly followed the tail, peaking around the corner to see it belonged to a fire dragon that was secretly meeting up with a water dragoness. Letting them be, he continued to move about, though pleased it wasn’t Spyro, he also dreaded that it wasn’t as soon he would have to report to Tyndrith. With the setting sun he returned to the massive estate of the Arctic Shield clan, only to meet the pale grey dragoness waiting for him at the entrance. “I do not see Spyro with you.” “I uh…couldn’t find him.” Snorting she slapped him, leaving minor scratches along his cheek. “Don’t lie. Sanctus saw you moping around the fifth district not even looking for him. You are now assigned to aid him in bringing in Spyro. Fail me again and you will suffer worse than mere scratches.” Nodding he returned to his quarters. The next day, Wintus was back in the sky with Sanctus, a multi blue ice dragon, icicles jutting out from his shoulders, elbows and a nasty looking twisted club at the end of his tail. “Look here snowflake, fuck this up and it will be me who punishes you…provided you are not exiled from the clan.” Nodding solemnly, Wintus followed his fellow guard towards the fourth district where they believed Spyro’s shop would be. Without their armor, they hid their sigil so the target could not identify which clan they are from, seeing two dragons leave a shop, Wintus winched when Spyro emerged waving off the customers, feeling the pointed end of the icicles from Sanctus poke his side they moved towards the shop as Spyro headed back inside. Walking past the doors, they saw their target speaking with a dragoness behind the counter, before either Spyro or Wintus could say a word, Sanctus lunged for the purple dragon, biting the scruff of his neck, hurling the shocked purple dragon into the other wall. Cursing under his breath, Wintus jumped for Pyralis, moving as she swiped at him, tail sweeping with the momentum, knocking her down, he swiftly pinned her. “I’m sorry for this…” he whispered to her before hearing the sound of a dragon slam into the shelves, looking up he saw it was Sanctus that was slammed into the shelves, ducking as Spyro spun around with an ice bladed tail, slicing through the wooden shelf unit. Looking over seeing Spyro move as Sanctus destroyed a section of the self under where Spyro cut through with his club-like tail, with Wintus distracted, Pyralis moved her leg under him and kneed him between the legs, before getting a paw out from being pinned and slammed the side of his head into the counter. Howling he released her, she clamped her jaw around his neck, her teeth puncturing his scales drawing blood before slamming him against the wall, her right claws ripped his shoulder. Coming out of his second spin, Sanctus headbutted Spyro in the chest, his head spikes pierced Spyro’s chest scales, roaring from the pain he slammed his paws down onto his attacker, his claws dug in between his wings before feeling the wall slam into his back. Releasing the purple dragon, Sanctus grappled Spyro before slamming him into the ground. “Hey ice bitch!” Turning, Sanctus moved as a fireball struck the back wall, upon landing she breathed fire that was immediately counted by his ice breath, already she was being overpowered before she felt the chill of his attack shock her body as small ice shards cut her scales. Leaping out of the hailstorm she lunged towards him, spinning around, he dug his claws in, anchoring himself in the spin as his club-like tail struck her right side, crashing through the already damaged shelf and into the one behind it as it fell onto her. Trying to stay awake from the impact to her head she barely heard the one dragon speak. “Wintus get your pathetic ass up and place him on my back!” “Yes sir, Sanctus.” Grumpling he placed the unconscious purple dragon onto Sanctus’ back before swiftly leaving the shop, taking to the sky unaware a dragon watched them take off from their tower near the shop. Returning to the Arctic Shield estate, many watched in disbelief as they were walking in with the famed purple dragon before Tyndrith led them to one of the towers towards the back where a room was already prepared for their guest. Flopping Spyro onto the bed, a healer walked in as they left, meeting their matriarch outside the room. “Excellent job you two…or was it Sanctus?” She saw the wounds on Wintus who looked away.” “He held the other dragon at bay while I dealt with Spyro, he didn’t expect the other dragon to surprise him with a low blow before slamming him against the wall. Might I ask…” “No. Wintus go get those healed. Sanctus…you may head to your place outside the estate.” With that they left without a word. Midday, Ayerz arrived at his shop, stopping in his tracks to see the shop a mess. “By the ancestors…what happened?” Several different scents already assaulted his nose before a faint groan caught his ears. Looking over his eyes shrank in size, seeing a familiar tail pinned under the shelf unit. Looking back he saw a green dragon that seemed to be day dreaming with their head out their window. “HEY!” The dragon looked down, seeing Ayerz waving him down, leaping out of the window as a water dragoness moved towards the worried voice as they moved into the shop, the green fire dragon helped Ayerz lift the shelf while the dragoness slowly pulled Pyralis out from the broken jewels before the shelf fell back down. “Is she..?” “She is in critical condition. Busted ribs, these cuts have a chill to them, so she was attacked by an ice dragon. She needs to be taken to the hospital now.” Helping the green fire dragon lift the poor girl onto the back of her father they moved towards the hospital with the fire male yelling or sometimes breathing his element to clear a path. After thirty minutes of running they moved into the hospital where a master healer helped place her on a stretcher before moving through the hospital with the three in tow. “Master Healer Sierrus we have a female in critical condition.” Moving over was a teal and yellow-orange fire dragon soon he and another water dragoness and the one with the two fire males moved into the next room while Ayerz and the fire dragon waited outside. “Condition?” Sierrus asked the one that brought her. “Broken ribs, her right wing broken, forearm, index finger broken, middle and lower finger seem fine. Possible cracked vertebrae in her back, scales already bruising, left wing seems dislocated, three vertebrae in her tail either dislocated or broken where the shelf fell onto them. These cuts have a chill to them, so an ice dragon did this to her. Healer Typhasia is my name.” Nodding, they swiftly moved to work as Master Healer Sierrus used his magic, letting it cover around her ribs as the other water dragoness moved away to collect healing crystals. “Can you tell me what happened?” Outside the two males waited yet the green fire dragon looked back at Ayerz. “If you don’t mind sir, I should go get a guard to investigate what happened in your shop.” “Understood. I will remain here.” With that, the young fire dragon left the hospital and headed out to find a guard, flying over the city he looked for any guards or military soldiers in the area but luck would find him, seeing a dragon in armor coming up to him. “Afternoon sir, hope you realize you are flying higher than what is required in the city.” “I am well aware. Actually I am in search of someone to help with an investigation. Follow me please.” Leading the armored dragon back to the jewel shop, the sight shocked the earth dragon, the two broken shelf units, the blood on two walls and the claw marks along the floor. Walking towards the counter to see the blood on the counter and the wall behind it, then moved towards the center of the room seeing the gauges left in the floor, lowering his head he saw there was a minor size difference between the claw marks. The fire dragon merely watched as the earth dragon moved about, seeing the damage to the first shelf unit before seeing the scorch mark on the back wall. “So what happened here?” He turned to the fire dragon. “Wish I knew sir. The only ones here were Spyro and the owner's daughter, who is in the hospital after what happened here.” “And Spyro?” “I do not know sir.” That caught the earth dragon’s attention, but the fire dragon continued speaking. “According to another who helped bring the young dragoness to the hospital said some of her cuts had a chill to them, so she believed it was an ice dragon. She is helping heal the daughter. I only saw two ice dragons leave with Spyro across one’s back, I don’t know where they were heading.” “Thank you. I will inform my Commanding officer about this. In the meantime please remain here.” Nodding the fire dragon watched as the earth dragon took off. Meanwhile Spyro awoke and found himself in opal colored walls was different for him to see, groaning as his back spasmed in protest before he applied and flopped back down, the side of his head throbbed from hitting the floor. “Ancestors what happened? Where am I?” “In the Arctic Shield estate.” Spyro froze, turning to see an ice blue dragoness, a lighter blue underside and wing membrane. “I’m sorry for the manner of your arrival but Lady Tyndrith wishes for you to…” “To fuck whoever she sends me. Tell your Lady that will not happen.” “Oh it will.” Both turned to see the soft grey, dragoness herself move into the room. “You young dragon will breed the selection of females I have for you or your hybrid of a mate will suffer.” Spyro growled and lunged for her only to be tackled by Sanctus pinning him to the ground, but was blasted off by his lightning, Spyro moved and clamped his jaws around his neck, ignoring the pain as his claws struck his side, pivoting he tossed the ice dragon. Landing on his feet Sanctus swung his tail, Spyro leaped over it with a strong jet of water striking the ice dragon in the face, shaking the water from his face, he avoided another bite to the neck by mere seconds knocking Spyro up he grappled Spyro, again he tried his strength but the slightly larger dragon out weighted him, pinning him to the ground after striking his side with his tail, dropping down on him, his claws dug into his shoulder. “If I was you, I would be honored to be mating females from a wealthy clan, but if that isn’t your taste then your purple ass will be mine to…” “That is enough for now Sanctus. I will give you a few more hours to choose your answer Spyro…make sure you have your ‘beautiful’ wife's interest in that answer. Sanctus heel.” The older ice dragon dismounted and followed his Lady out of the room looking back as Spyro stared him dead in the eye, he knew Spyro wasn’t going to mate others. Growling he paced back and forth not letting the dragoness go near him to heal his shoulder. “Please let me…” She backed off when he growled at her. “I need to heal that. Not for her sake to have a trophy breeder, but as a healer it is my job to heal others.” Softening a bit he let her heal the wound. “I pray Allan hears this. That will be the end of this corrupted clan.” “Then let it be so…as much as I love this clan, it has stepped far from saving, it needs to be cleansed again and hopefully someone better can rule it.” Her wish might come into fruition at the Ancestral Temple, the earth dragon arrived and searched the large temple before coming to the library in the upper section of the temple, spotting the individual he was searching for, resting on the lounge couch with a book on his chest. “Excuse me Elder Guardian Allan.” He did not get a reply, coughing loudly he got the smaller being to stir before saying his name again. “Sorry to disturb your rest sir, but there is something you must see.” “What is it?” Allan asked grougly. “There was a fight in a jewel shop in district four. Spyro’s shop.” Allan raised an eyebrow before rolling to his feet he moved towards the earth dragon, lowering himself as Allan climbed onto him before they left the temple and returned to the shop, once there Allan saw the chaos his man saw minutes beforehand and saw a fire dragon sitting off to the side. The earth dragon explained he helped the only witness to the hospital, he led Allan through what he thought of the fight, but Allan saw things differently before they turned to the fire dragon who then took them to the hospital, where Allan saw Ayerz. “Master Ayerz, Elder Guardian Allan.” “Greetings General. Please tell me you are here to bring whoever assaulted my daughter and took my best, and only worker to justice.” “I am. How is your daughter?” “Master Healer Sierrus has currently finished with the majority of the damage, and she is resting now. Should be conscious shortly.” Waiting together the water dragoness named Typhasia came to the door motioning for Ayerz and Allan to come in. Coming inside, Ayerz nuzzled his daughter, “I’m so sorry for not being there.” He whispered while Allan spoke with Master Sierrus about her injuries, saying she had nine broken ribs, several bruised vertebrae along her spine, three broken in her tail, her right wing broken while the left wing was dislocated, and some of the minor cuts indeed had a chill to them. Knowing those were healed the fastest, her ribs and wing would be longer to be healed but she shouldn’t move due to the bruising along her back. No flying for a month and bed rest for a minimum two weeks. While they spoke, Ayerz stayed close to his daughter. “Sanctus…” she whispered, getting him to lower his head towards her mouth. “His name…Sanctus…he took Spyroooo….” She softly said before going back to rest. Looking at the two they left the room before he turned to Allan. “His name is Sanctus. She must have heard it before they left with Spyro.” Allan’s calm face turned dark. “That name belongs to one of the guards, and he is a Arctic Shield member, Tyndrith you have declared war on your clan. Thank you. I will send some wood workers to replace the broken units and I will be damn sure Arctic Shield pays for the damage and her medical bill. Forestius, we shall return and inform the other elders, Arctic Shield pushed themselves too far this time.” With that, Allan opened a portal where he and the earth dragon named Forestius ventured through arriving back inside the Ancestral Temple. “Gather the others, I shall await in the summit.” Giving a quick nod, Forestius moved off while Allan headed to the upper section of the temple, coming to the great hall using his magic to activate the massive crystal, levitating the pathway to the summit before he ascended towards the top. Twenty minutes after reaching the top, Forestius and the other four Elder Guardians arrived atop of the summit. “Allan? You wished to see us?” Solstice asked. “Yeah. I do not know when it happened, but the jewel store owned by Ayerz, where Spyro works, had been attacked. Spyro and Pyralis, Ayerz’s daughter were the only ones in the shop, Pyralis was severely wounded and is in the hospital where Master Sierrus has tended her. According to Pyralis, she said an ice dragon named Sanctus had taken Spyro.” Shock gripped the guardians to hear someone had not only attacked, but kidnapped their saviour, then Icillia recalled something and it infuriated her. “Sanctus is a guard, has been for eight years now. And a member of the Arctic Shield clan…you don’t think..?” “Yes. Two years after the unification, and thinking we won’t act on a forgotten threat. I think it’s time to pay them a visit. Forestius, gather every templar here. You four I suggest you put on your armor, this will get ugly.” Once more they were shocked but understood the circumstances. Leaving the summit all dragones moved to the armory and with the servants' help they dawned their armor while Allan moved into his own room and dawned his armor, the minor scratches, the dullness of the color, the wars it had seen it had never seen an invasion of a clans estate. Soon nearly four hundred templars, and five elder guardians dressed in armor left the temple. Awkwardness filled Spyro’s room as four beautiful females along with the niece and eldest granddaughter sat and looked as Spyro sat opposite of them, they were here to be mated or so they were told but he wasn’t moving, shifting uncomfortably as he looked at the six females until one spoke up. “So you are not going to breed us?” “Sorry but no. I will not be mating any of you, otherwise it would betray Cynder.” “So then why are you here?” One asked a bit harshly. “Lady Tyndrith had two of her guards capture me bringing me here to breed whoever she sends to me…” Spyro sighed “I am sorry for any dreams you had desired, future kid names you planned on, but they will not be happening.” “If what you say is true then…maybe we could…I don’t know…pretend to mate… dry hump should any guards check things?” One suggested. The idea intrigued Spyro, feeling Tyndrith would either send guards or come in herself, though thankfully hasn’t intruded yet as she was preparing for something though she denied telling her guards. Down a few levels, the ice clan leader herself was growing impatient as none of the females had ventured down to report about their sessions with the purple dragon while one of her son’s reminded her they had the full day to enjoy themselves before returning the next day. She ignored him, commanding more guards to secure the towers, ordering them to attack all that are not of the clan, telling them she was preparing for something, making the estate into a fortress. Outside of the estate the guards watched in disbelief as the Elder Guardians and the templars landed before their estate shock and terror ran down their spine to see the guardians dressed in armor and to see an army of templars behind them made it even more terrifying. “Gentledrakes, you can either stand down and move aside, or lose your lives.” Allan warned, his voice deepened within his helmet. Both ice dragons dropped their spears and moved aside as the guardians opened the door only to be immediately attacked by guards behind the door soon others inside attacked as the templars engaged with the Arctic Shields. Ice and earth elemental power filled the main entrance while fire and lighting brightened the area, as Solstice unleashed a powerful stream of fire towards a group of two ice dragons, burning their wings as they covered themselves leaving them open for her templars to tackle them. Terrnus grabbed one, pinning him down, the force of his paw stomping down on the ice dragon’s chest broke a few ribs, turning his tail struck two more down before stomping on the ground as earth energy shot towards the earth dragons knocking them up before harshly landing on their backs. The ice dragons without question defended their home by order of their Matriarch as more dragons moved down to the main entrance only to meet a wall of resistance as the guardians tried to give them a chance to surrender before fighting, all fell on deaf ears. Allan ducked and weaved through the dragons, being the smallest, he had an easier time dealing damage to the legs of the ice dragons, warping out from under he would reappear with an ice hammer, striking the face of the ice dragon, letting out much withheld anger towards this clan. Moving from one dragon, Allan jumped from one dragon, he struck another, landing on the ground, his sword cut through the scales of the dragons, with the right angle and force he hewed off the legs. Icillia breathed a powerful blast of ice that slowed even the hearty ice dragons until lighting and earth blasts rendered them unconscious, it wasn’t long until the main hall was cleared and others surrendered. “Spread out! Find Spyro! If there is more resistance, show no mercy, should they surrender, drain and restrain them.” Allan ordered. Each guardian moved through different doors while Allan headed towards the main route towards the Great Hall of the estate having a feeling that is where Tyndrith would be. Over the next two hours, tower by tower the guardians fought through each one as many of the guards seemed ready for them before the templars and their Guardians claimed them, Solstice having an easier time as her fire warded off many Arctic Shield dragons before her templars restrained them before draining them of their magic. Zilan made quick work with his lightning breath paralyzing those that attacked him while his templars moved through the tower, many surrendered unaware of what this was about only for their Matriarch to have them defend the towers while the templars restrained them after the lightning paralyzed their muscles. “Are you aware Lady Tyndrith has kidnapped Spyro?” Asked the Elder Guardian of lightning. Many were shocked by the question with them quickly shaking their heads. “Then cooperation would be your best bet, Elder Guardian Allan is showing no mercy to those that dare challenge him. It would be wise to remain down and out of his path. Now tell me, do any of you know where Spyro is?” True to the word, Allan was cutting down many that dared even face him, moving under one as his sword struck below the knee, getting the dragon to stumble down before a green aura surround him, before a yelp of protest escaped his jaws he was flung into two others while Allan slammed two more into the wall fracturing the opal stone. “Try this, ‘general’.” One ice dragon smirked. Unleashing a hailstorm of small ice shards towards the smaller being only to be met by a wall of fire, and that wall expanded outwards engulfing the hailstorm before it consumed the attacker. Letting the fire fade to see the heavily burned dragon, sections of his armor melted onto his scales, while another backed away and fled. “You will never reach him. He is well guarded.” Spoked the burned dragon before darkness consumed him. Moving forward Terrnus and his group of templars met with more resistance in their tower, losing some of his men but many ice dragons also lost their lives as they fought through each level as earth and ice clashed against one another. Being bigger than the average earth dragon, Terrnus simply overpowered those that charged him, grappling one down before body slamming another into the wall, fracturing the smooth stone wall. Looking at one of his templars they slammed their fists onto the ground, the sheer earth energy was too much for the floor as the central portion crumbled with the ice dragons on it. Moving around the hole some of the templars jumped down to restrain those that were wounded from the fall and to see who survived the fall as well. Coming to the final room at the top Terrnus was displeased it was empty, all that fighting to find no Spyro. “Nothing here, let’s take the bridge and meet up with General Allan.” Forty minutes of brutal fighting Allan moved through four floors with his templars exploring every room finding some scared dragons, empty rooms before four of five guardians met outside the main hall on the fifth floor, each one shaking their heads before Allan turned and without warning blasted, not only the door but the wall as well apart. Tyndrith watched as they walked into her hall with their troops. She was surrounded by many of her most well trained guards, her three sons, and hidden from view were her daughters, and youngest granddaughter. “Hmm, so the guardians show their true colors. Invading my home when I have done nothing wrong. Killing my clan members and breaking walls…hope you plan on paying for this.” “Spare me your silver tongue. I know you have kidnapped Spyro, an eyewitness saw Sanctus take him away.” Tyndrith turned to the dragon in question with a glare that could kill anyone that looked back at her. “N-no there were no…the dragoness…she must have heard Wintus say my name.” “I told you, no witnesses! Fine you leave me no choice. Take them!” With no hesitation the dragons of the Arctic Shield charged as the templars unwaveringly roared at the challenge rushing before their guardians clashing with the ice guards. Elements clashed as many swatted, clawed and bit one another. One ice dragon bit down on a templar’s wing, one was getting mauled by three ice dragons until a powerful fork of lightning killed the attackers, but the wounds were extensive, growling, Zilian unleashed a powerful fork that struck several ice dragons leaving severe burn marks along their scales, some dropped dead. Tyndrith watched from the far wall unfazed some of her most dedicated followers had fallen, motioning her head towards the battle, her sons entered the fray. They made quick work of some of the templars with their breath attacks, all three unleashed an arctic storm freezing many before their guards shattered the frozen dragons. Hearing the side door burst open, Terrnus moved into the battle, grabbing a guard by the neck before tossing him into a few others followed by an earth bomb, cratering the area where they were and breaking the bones of the dragons. Solstice fended off two but they ignored the extreme heat roaring as they clamped their jaws around one of her wings and shoulder until a bladed tail cut them from her. Looking over, she saw Icillia over powering the guards with her own ice breath, demonstrating her mastery over her element. Ice shards pelted the ice dragons before being taken out by either her tail, impaled by larger icicles emerging from the ground, being slashed open by larger ice claws extending from her own paw or simply being frozen solid. Tyndrith snarled at the sight of her guards losing to another ice dragon but what really infuriated her was her most trained guards were not even coming close to leaving a scratch on the smallest individual of the entirety of the group. Allan was a whirlwind of silver, his sword cleaving through scales, his magic unparalleled to the others, blasting several away like pebbles. Hewing one’s leg off before bringing his sword down upon his head cleaving it, warping as a large ice club struck where he was before he re-emerged above, coming down with an earth flare, rendering the dragon unconscious upon landing on his feet with the dragon laying beside him. Using the wind element to boost his jump, somersaulting three times in the air before coming down with an ice hammer, crushing the dragon under him, in a flash he moved ever so swiftly, slashing one’s neck before landing and warping away before a dragon fell on him. One ice dragon, a mix of light grey and pale light blue with similar blue ice swirls along his body felt this was wrong, all this death could be avoided had his mother not kidnapped Spyro and respected his wishes to not mate with other females, looking over he saw his brothers gang up on one of the Elders. Tackling four on one, Terrnus was about to be overwhelmed when a grey blur washed over him, two of his attacker’s were down with the one of them being pinned by one of their own. Looking up, the ice dragon growled seeing his own brother had attacked him. “Traitor!” The dragon roared, clawing his brother’s face, getting him roaring in pain as he closed his eye from the sudden strike. The strike was deep as blood flowed from the open wound next to his eye, growling he slammed into his brother, biting down on his neck as his brother sliced his thigh with his bladed tail, soon they left wounds on their necks, arms and sides before the brother with the wounded eye overpowered his brother with his ice breath leaving him open for a templar to slam him into the wall. Terrnus reared up before slamming back down, sending a shockwave through the room. Far across in the final tower, Spyro paralyzed some of the guards with his lightning breath, while the girls moved behind him, giggling as they got to see the purple dragon in action, their eyes fell on his rump, eyeing his muscular back legs, watching his tail ever so slightly sway with each step, though he wasn’t going to mate them, they had a nice view from behind. Seeing a few more ahead he unleashed his wind breath sending them head over tail colliding into the wall before them getting the girls to giggle before they moved through the door and out across the bridge and into the main building where they stopped when the ground and air rumbled from Terrnus’ earth pound. “What in the abyss was that?” “Are we under attack?” “Shh.” Spyro hissed at the girls as they huddled close, moving with him as they headed towards the source. Moving through the building they came to where the source seemed to have originated from but Spyro was concerned as it sounded like a war zone in there. “Stay here.” before they could utter a word he moved off and into the the room to see it was indeed a war zone, scanning the area he saw Sanctus about to kill a templar and without even a moments hesitation charged himself with lightning and rushed the dragon that dared threaten to rape him, before he could see what happened, the ice dragon was on the ground spasming as the lightning infused dragon rammed him, letting the lightning travel from him to the unsuspecting ice dragon. Not letting him recover, Spyro gripped him by the neck and hurled him into the wall with enough force that it broke the tip of his horn off. Struggling to get up, Spyro moved in, grappling the unexpected dragon before being slammed against the wall before his tail struck Spyro aside. “Got to admit, you had the advantage but know you will be my bitch after this.” Both lunged for one another, Spyro weaved to the left at the last second, landing a heavy strike to Sanctus’ right thigh shocking the ice dragon as he fell to the ground as his leg collapsed, turning he blast a thick breath of ice at the purple dragon but was shocked as he countered with an even more powerful ice breath pushing through the hailstorm towards him and covered Sanctus with his own hailstorm of an ice breath. Shielding himself with a wing, Sanctus moved towards Spyro again, head butting the purple dragon in the chest, getting a paw under his chin before slamming the back of his head into the wall. Growling his eyes glowed yellow before Sanctus as well as several other ice dragons were electrocuted by the out blast of lightning from Spyro. Seeing that the ice dragon wasn’t getting up, Spyro moved into the air unleashing his roar, getting many to stop and Tyndrith to look at him wide eyed while many guards and templars moved as Allan walked up to the young purple dragon. “You alright?” “Fine, head still hurts from hitting the wall but other than that, fine.” Soon all eyes turned to the light grey dragoness herself. “This is what you get for kidnapping me.” Many looked shocked, seeing that what Allan claimed was now more than true seeing the dragon himself, one such shocked dragon was one of her son’s that had the wound over his eye as he had one his brothers pinned by ice while some of the guards that knew of this merely snarled, seeing the purple dragon free from his tower. “Thinking you could kidnap me then expect me to breed the girls you send into the tower…what a shameful way to treat your saviour.” Tyndrith snarled at the young purple dragon. “You are no saviour.” Those words shocked many when they slipped from her lips. “You and your team have caused untold damage to not the city but the world. When I had half your team and girlfriend captured I should have killed her then. For even to this day, eight years later the effects can be felt with forests still needing healing, oceans still having floating waterfalls. You are but a tool, and I intended to use you.” “Then what are we?” The eyes shifted as the four girls along with her niece and granddaughter emerged. “Were we tools for him to use as well, because we had the potential of creating that purple ‘pure’ ice you have been after?” Tyndrith felt the eyes in the room shift to her, Spyro caught movement swiftly moving to avoid a strike with a move he learned from Cynder, leaping into the air, twisting his body around before unleashing a powerful blast of lightning followed by a gust of wind sending the lightning sphere into the back of Sanctus sending him into the far wall, spasming on the floor. Tyndrith Swatted Spyro out of the air, the blades on her tail cut his scales, before she could pounce on the downed dragon, Icillia tackled her, pinning the older dragoness down as Allan stepped forward and spoke. “As Eldest of the guardians. I hear by strip you Lady Tyndrith of clan Arctic Shield of your title as council member, as well as clan matriarch of the Arctic Shields. Until a new Matriarch or Patriarch can be appointed, Elder Guardian Icillia will take charge of this clan until a leader is decided. Those that surrendered will remain here and be treated, those that knew of this and fought will be taken to the dungeon and be treated there for their wounds and await trial. While you, Tyndrith will be held in the dungeon until you are trailed for your crime.” Shock gripped the room for none had ever heard of such a thing happening over the millennium for the history of the clan. Before she could speak, Allan used his magic to muzzle her, draining her magic to form any kind of attack followed by his magic tethers binding her before levitating her. “Heed this warning all of you! We do not make ideal threats and we will make good on our threats should any be made. Even if it is years ago, we will keep the threat. Kidnap, threaten or endanger the lives of our saviours we will respond in force.” With that Allan left with Tyndrith levitating beside him. With the aid of some of her Templars, Solstice limped out of the estate, a templar helped Spyro to his paws as the six girls came by to help him, giving each one a soft peak on their cheeks before leaning on the templar as he got the purple dragon onto his back and headed for a hospital while Terrnus and Zilian led the remaining three hundred templars back to the temple.
