To Bring Out The Snarl
It’s been a little while since I’ve written something new. Finished this vent poem recently about something that happened to me about a month and a half ago. Meant to finish this sooner but life has not been easy lately which is part of why I wrote this poem in the first place.
To Bring Out The Snarl
By: A.X. Bueno
You go about your day trying to do what needs to be done
Traveling to work is already something not fun
Lost in your own thoughts with nary a care
Banking on people being smarter than needlessly trying to provoke the bear
But every once in a while someone will start something for no good reason
And you’ve got so much pent up stress you’ve been trying to squeeze in
To keep inside but eventually even the chillest bears patience runs thin
And you’re not quite cool enough to be able to say that’s you
So when someone confronts you and won’t back off some anger comes through
Because although you tried to defused things they wouldn’t go away
You don’t know why they antagonized you but you snapped and snarled back this day
You bared your fangs and you growled and stomped and showed
That you had had enough
And a glimpse of what would happen if they continued to goad
To prove you’re not one to toy with or bluff
So you snarled and as moves were made and the encounter continued to transpire
You decided to get back to moving along
You made your point and don’t want anymore people caught in the crossfire
Of these persons issues or yours because that would be wrong
You’re only wanting to strike fear so this one person would be gone
You don’t want or need to resort to further threats and especially not violence
All you wanted was a quick trip to work in peace and with silence
Even though it did feel sort of freeing to snarl and let some of the rage through
The incidents over now as you’ve decided to end it there
And anyway baring your fangs still isn’t something that feels quite like you
