A Love beneath a Twilight Sky
Imported from SF2 with no description.
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in shades of amber, pink, and lavender. The gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh grass and mountain air as Lunar stood upon the edge of the cliff, his deep blue coat contrasting against the evening glow. His white mane flowed in the wind like a silver river, and his piercing violet eyes gazed down at his beloved wife, Celestia.
She sat before him, her body curled inward as exhaustion weighed heavily upon her. The golden sun emblem upon her flank glowed faintly, a sign of the magic she had expended raising and lowering the celestial body. Her wings, usually held with regal poise, now drooped slightly, and her flowing pastel mane cascaded around her like a silken waterfall.
Lunar's heart ached at the sight. He knew that ruling the kingdom was a burden Celestia had carried alone for far too long. He had returned to her side not just as a husband but as a protector, determined to share her struggles. Yet, even in her fatigue, she looked up at him with warmth in her magenta eyes, offering a tired but loving smile.
“You push yourself too hard, my love," Lunar murmured, lowering himself to her level. His powerful wings folded neatly at his sides as he gently pressed his muzzle to her forehead. “You are the light of this land, but even the sun must rest."
Celestia sighed, her body leaning into his embrace. “There is always more to do, Lunar. The kingdom relies on me."
“And I rely on you," he countered, wrapping his front leg around her protectively. “But you forget—you are not alone anymore. I am here." His voice was firm, yet filled with tenderness. “Let me carry some of the weight, as you have carried it for so long."
Celestia closed her eyes, resting against his chest, her golden shoes gleaming in the fading light. She could hear the steady beat of his heart, strong and unwavering. Lunar had always been her pillar, even when he had once been lost to the shadows of doubt. Now, he stood as her equal, her husband, her strength.
For a moment, there were no words, only the silent understanding between them. The mountains stretched endlessly in the distance, and the sky darkened into a canvas of twinkling stars. As the first stars flickered to life, Celestia let out a content sigh.
“Perhaps I have been too stubborn," she admitted softly. “But if you are by my side, then maybe… just maybe, I can allow myself to rest."
Lunar smiled, nuzzling into her mane, inhaling the familiar scent of sunlight and warmth. “Then rest, my love. I will watch over you."
And beneath the twilight sky, with the world resting in perfect harmony, Celestia finally allowed herself to lean into Lunar's embrace, knowing that with him, she would never be alone again.
