Kert is watching over his grandmother's shop. Unfortunately for him, a group of werewolves deiced to lay waist to the shop

So this is a remaster of my first story I ever wrote, so if you want a PDF of the story here ya go

As I opened the door to my Grams's shop, I pushed aside any debris before it. Stepping through the broken glass, I find myself gazing out to the outside world through the massive hole in the store's main window. With a heavy sigh, I tossed my scarf onto a nearby hanger and began inspecting the damages.

Fresh claw marks ran alongside ones made days prior amongst the shelves. Replacing them might run me dry this month, but Grams deserves to come back to a good shop. Walking over more shards of glass, that once held a variety of potions, their crackling sound echoing throughout the store, I made my way to the counter. Nearly slipping on an icy puddle near the counter, I took out the broom behind it. With a snap of my finger, I brought the broom, commanding it to clean up this mess. I'll deal with the frozen puddles later. As the cold air nipped at my neck, I made my way over to the destroyed window. Reaching out a hand, I began casting.

“Repair." The glass began rumbling underneath my foot before swirling around me and flying back into place. Before me, the name of the shop was shown on the window. Trinkets and Wishes. Grams would have been so proud of me for this without my staff. As I got closer to inspecting my work, I noticed small holes still in the window. Problems for a later date. Looking over to the pile of broken potions and smashed trinkets, I snapped my fingers once more and had them compiled into a nearby trashcan as I took out my clipboard and began my inventory check.

Completing today's inventory check, I noticed half the products were destroyed this time. How kind of them. None of the potions they broke could be saved, so what little I had was it, but that's fine. I can always make more. I have to make sure the shop is still around for Grams. Gathering the trash, I headed out back.

Upon entering the alleyway, I noticed the snow had been removed. Looking around, I saw the butcher had his door ajar. Not wanting anything to do with that old werewolf, I quickly made my way to the dumpster.

After tossing the destroyed contents, I sunk into the nearby wall. Dealing with these guys is starting to take its toll on me. Choking back the tears, a creaking sound caught my ears.

Looking over, I saw a younger werewolf exiting the butcher's shop carrying a trash bag. His white fur was completely soaked in blood, from his head to his paws. Not a single thing was spared. Even his apron dripped with the remains of his fresh chop. His fangs protruded from his maw, giving him a nasty underbite. He stared at me as he tossed the bag into the bin. His cold blue eyes reminded me of the sky.

“You okay?" he asked, approaching me.

I quickly moved back.

“Yeah," I answered back, making sure there was a good distance between me and the beast. Though his imposing frame still engulfed me, his eyes followed my every movement. “Where is the old werewolf that runs the shop? Thought his trip was supposed to end." I watched as his claws twitched at that. Shit, those fuckers could rip me apart like scissors on paper.

“Still out," he tossed the trash into the dump and began walking away. “What is this the fourth time this week? I advise you just to pay them. It's getting annoying listening to them wreak havoc on that shop."

“Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't know ME being harassed was bothering you so much. Nothing is stopping you from dealing with them."

“I don't wish to get involved."

Well, good for fucking you, you furry bastard.

“Well, I can't be as fortunate as you to just ignore them. If you have nothing else to say, leave me be," at this point, I was just trembling. My Grams's shop is being destroyed, and this mutt is just annoyed with the noise it causes.

“Don't get mad at me, wizard!" He snarled back, “It is not my place to get involved in these useless affairs your kind has with other races!"

“Oh fuck you!" I spat back, “You're just saying that because it's your friends that are messing with my store!"

“They aren't my friends." He said in a low, deep growl.

“Oh, sure they aren't. It wasn't your friends that have been terrorizing me and destroying my Grams's shop for the past few days."

“Watch your tone, wizard. I won't tell you again."

“Or what?" I asked, almost mocking his tone. “You mutts are all the same. We're just trying to make a living that doesn't give you the right to-…" it only took a second. I blinked only for a second before he appeared right before me.

The scent of blood hit my nose as he was inches away from my face. He easily dwarfed me up close. I was fully engulfed in his frame. I trembled as he just stared me down, uncertain on what to do next. Without my staff, I could only rely on minor spells. And I already know those alone aren't enough for a drawn-out fight with his kind.

“They are NOT my friends, wizard." He got close to my face, his maw inches away from ripping off my nose, his teeth nearly poking me. His breath reeked of… chocolate?

“I- I'm sorry. I…I just," walking back, I tripped and fell hard onto the concrete floor below, cursing the bastard who removed the wintery cushion. Looking back at the wolf, a flash of concern swept across his face before returning back to his stone-cold demeanour. He extended a paw my way.

“Are you okay?" He asked, but I just swatted his hand away.

“Look, can you just leave me alone. You and your kind have done enough. I- I just want to be alone."

I couldn't bring myself to look at him. But the sound of his feet scraping against the ground was a dead giveaway of him leaving. It wasn't long till I heard the sound of the creaking door close.

Left alone, I collapsed against the wall as tears began running down my face. If anyone could see me now, if those bastards could see me now, they'd probably laugh at me.

“Grams, what am I supposed to do?" I don't know how long I laid there crying, but I still need to open up the store soon. Cleaning myself up, I put on a smile before heading back inside.

Sliding into the chair behind the counter, I stared at the somewhat clean shop. I've been open for nearly an hour now, but not a soul has decided to enter. I watched the few passersby. A few pixies, some elves, a goblin or two, but none dared enter the store. The chair creaked as I laid further back. Before I could even think, the sound of the door opening caught my ears, and I immediately shot up

“Welcome to the Trinket and Wishes! Please excuse the mess. How can-!" Before I could say anything else a giant werewolf trotted into the store, followed by his underlings.

The tallest one and the man in charge, Ethan, was probably the tallest werewolf I've ever seen. The man stood seven feet tall, making every other werewolf dwarf in comparison. The man was built like a brick house. Looking between him and his friends, one could easily mistake them as a father with his two sons. And here I was, barely five foot eight, looking at this behemoth.

“Hey, Ethan," I tried to hide my disdain from him as I sat back down. I could just feel his eyes following my movements. I didn't even try to go for my staff for safety. “What do you three want?"

Ethan just let out a chuckle, his deep, raspy voice echoing throughout the quiet store as he sauntered over. His friends stayed back, making their way to the trinkets and tomes they'd not destroyed. Ethan slammed his arm on the counter before leaning in.

“You deeply wound me, Kert," his voice was like a crackling fire. “I thought the two of us were friends. Shoot, my boys and me even went out of our way to give you a friendly surprise when you came in this morning. Did ya, did ya like it?" His tail wagged behind him as he gave me a toothy grin before he erupted with laughter, soon followed by his friends. I had to cover my ears so as not to lose my hearing.

The laughter died down as soon as he gave his friends a look. The two bozos decided to rummaging through my shelves, pulling tombs and trinkets out and tossing them precariously on the ground.

“Ethan, I don't really need this right now. As you can see, I just finished cleaning up your mess from this morning." He'd let out a low growl. “And if you aren't here to provide any real assistance, then do me the honor and get out."

I pointed to the door, but he just stared at me, before giving me a big smile. His razor-sharp teeth sent shivers down my spine as he petted my head.

“Oh, my lovely little wizard, now, don't you forget, I've already dealt with the old crow who used to own this shop. You don't want to be like her now, do ya?"

Before I could even respond, looking past him, I saw his buddies tearing up a tome. I was about to shout at them when I felt sharp, cold claws piercing my face, drawing blood as a fuzzy paw covered my mouth. Ethan forced me to look him in the eyes, his bright yellow eyes outlined by the red that swirled around them.

“I don't like being ignored, Kert. You don't want to end up in the hospital like your dear old grandma now, do you?"

I pried myself out of his clutches, or better yet, he just let me go and fixed my shirt.

“I'd rather not deal with you, and just so you know, she's recovering just fine. And if you even try to do anything to her while she is there, I'll make you pay." It was an empty threat, he knows it.

He let out a deep sigh before looking at his friends. They were tossing an old tome around like it was a frisbee, catching it with their teeth, ruining it's contents.

“I'd greatly appreciate it if you and your friends would just leave me be," I said, looking at the brute. Ethan just rubbed my head.

“Now, Kert, o buddy o pal of mine, I've done told you already. If you pay up, we won't cause you any trouble. Don't be like your grandma. The old bag just didn't understand that setting up shop in werewolf's territory wasn't a smart idea, and she just needed to pay for protection. Isn't that right, boys!" He called out to his friends, who just dropped the tomb from their mouths and nodded enthusiastically.

“Right, Boss!" cheered Ven, the shorter of the two, a bit more stout than either Ethan or his buddy.

“Of course," said Ross, the one that dressed the nicest of the three, as they nodded.

Soon, the three of them began barking up a storm, as if they heard the funniest joke.

“You three wouldn't be so confident if the old man next door was still here and not out on his hunting trip," I shot back, getting the three wolves to immediately quiet down.

In fact, the two mooks' tails were tucked between their legs at the mere thought of him even being here.

Ethan just loomed over me, his face obscured by the shadow he cast, only his piercing bloodshot eyes showed. He bent down to meet me at eye level; as he spoke, the scent of mint hit my face as he spoke.

“Well, he's not, and I don't see the loser he has working next door doing anything to stop us," he lifted me in one paw with so much ease you could have thought I weighed no more than a cup of water. “Now look here, Kert. I've been doing my best to be patient with you. Hoping that you were more reasonable than your dear old grandma, but it seems that you're trying to push my buttons. Now, I ain't asking for much, just that you pay up. The sooner you pay, the sooner your store will be safe from any harm. Wouldn't that be just great?"

It would be if it wasn't you doing the destruction! I wanted to shout at him. I don't have enough power to do much damage to him, at least not without my staff, but at the same time, I can't just let him do what he wants to Grams's shop. The idea of selling it didn't bode well, but we already asked for help with this, and the magic counsel said it was out of their jurisdiction. No matter what, it's a lose-lose situation for me.

As I weighed my options, I saw an old ticket with a star pendant hanging off the side of the door. It was the first thing I ever gave my grandma after a really hard treasure hunt as a kid. I'm a bit surprised she kept it after all these years.

“Sorry, Ethan, but I'm still going to have to refuse your offer. This shop means too much for me and my grandma. I just wouldn't feel right paying a bully to protect it from them."

With a heavy sigh, Ethan just drops me. I crashed on the floor, hurting my butt in the process.

“You know, I was really hoping you would come to your senses, but I guess that was just wishful thinking," he looked at his friends. “Just so you know, this will hurt me just as much as it will hurt you. Ven, Ross, go at it. Make sure nothing stands."

And just like that, the two went to town in the shop. They started knocking shelves over, destroying whatever they had missed on their earlier rampage through the shop. Tombs were being tossed, potions shattering on the ground, and they had even knocked over a cauldron, spilling its contents all over the floor.

“Goddamn it!" I shouted as I leaped in front of the counter. Raising a hand, I began to cast. “Air Bla-," but before I could even finish, Ethan had grabbed my wrist.

“Now, hold it right there. We don't wantcha to do anything stupid, right?" He said, with a cocky smile plastered on his face. “Now, this wouldn't 'ave happened if ya had only a-ack!"

Without thinking, I shoved my free hand into his maw. “Spark!" I poured every ounce of the energy I had into this spell, and a quick burst of lightning flashed through his maw. He immediately let me go, giving me enough time to attack his friends, who were stunned at what had just happened. “Lightning Spear!" I shouted throwing my hand toward them.

I directly hit Ross in the face, blinding him for a split second, but that was all I needed as I ran towards Ven, who stood there in shock. But before I could even get close, a rough paw grabbed hold of my leg, and I soon found myself being thrown through the store, shattering the window I had just fixed this morning.

The sounds of people screaming were muffled out by a mixture of snow and me trying to regain my senses. As I tried to get up a massive weight was placed on my back. Looking up I could see Ethan looking down at me as he placed more weight down upon me.

The man did his best to hide his snarl with a joyful smile, but I could see his cracks. I tried to raise a hand, but he only slammed down on me. I let out a silent scream as he and his friends laughed above me.

“Now, see here," Ethan spat out, “I'd tried my best to work with ya. Really, I did. And I do not like the fact that you are making things so difficult for me. You humans think you can do whatever you want and not face any consequences. All I'm doing is offering you a simple and easy solution. We didn't need to do all of this, and yet, here we are."

Ethan got down on one knee, still keeping a foot on me. I wanted to cast something, but the pain muddled whatever words I could think of. Then, I felt a gentle stroke against my face. Looking up, Ethan wore a gentle smile.

“Kert, I ain't here to hurt ya. Not many wizards live here, and having someone like you as part of our team would do wonders. All ya have to do is pay us for protection. Don't be like ya's grandma. Make the right choice. I ain't gonna offer it again."

He extended his paw but kept the pressure up. As I began to black out from the pain, memories of my Grams laying on the hospital bed, rang out in my head. As she was hooked up to machines, trying to fight for her life. This shop is something we built together, her smiling face when I came back with a new artifact. Her scolding nature when I came back beaten up. I don't think I could let this bastard just win. I could never look at her again.

Swatting his hand away, the three of them jumped in surprise.

“Sorry, Ethan, but you can go fuck yourself."

A flash of disappointment flashed across his face before he gave me a big, toothy smile. With a shrug, he raised a claw. “Well, I tried."

I closed my eyes in anticipation of the strike. And waited. But nothing happened. I noticed that I was feeling lighter. Opening my eyes, I saw that Ethan was no longer on top of me. Looking around, I spotted him knocked back into his friends. Looking up, I saw the young werewolf from the butcher's shop above me.

“You okay?" The werewolf asked as he covered me.

After Ethan regained his footing he started growling at the younger werewolf followed by his friends. Soon all four werewolves growled at each other; the streets sounded like cars revving up. Cracking my back, I slowly made my way up. I struggled to stifle the screams, but as I lost my footing, a few screams of pain got out.

The young werewolf moved me behind him.

“Thanks, um…"

“Dolph."

“Kert. Thanks, Dolph."

Looking past Dolph, I saw the other three slowly spreading out and trying to circle us in. This isn't good. Checking Dolph out, the man was able to tackle Ethan despite his physique, but I don't think he can take all three of them on at once. Looking back at the shop, an idea popped into my head.

“Dolph, do you think you could buy me some time? I need to get my staff," I whispered to him.

He just nodded, before charging at all three, catching everyone off guard. But I didn't have time to waste, immediately I rushed to the store. The sounds of snarls and growls mixed with the crunching of snow filled the air as I made my way into the shop through the broken window.

Tossing stuff off the counter, I searched all over for my staff. It was supposed to be right by the counter, but I couldn't find it in its usual spot. As I frantically looked around, I saw the tip of the staff over the back exit. Rushing over to it, a sudden impact sent me flying into a nearby shelf. The tomes help cushion the blow, but it still left my side sore. Emerging out from the rubble, hacking up my lungs, I saw it was Ven standing before me.

“Sorry, wizard," he snarled. “But Ethan wants me to ruffle you up a bit. Ah, but don't worry! It shouldn't take 'em long to deal with the butcher. Soon, you and the Boss can get back to negotiating." The bastard said while howling with laughter.

He stood over me, and with my staff so far, I only had one shot at this. Luckily, I had a spell just for this. It's an oldy, but as Grams always said, “Nothing wrong with using a last resort!" Closing my eyes, I extended my hands.

“Radiant Light!" the room suddenly filled with a flash of bright light and the bastard screaming in pain.

“AH! MY EYES!" The man howled in pain as he swung his arms around like a wild animal.

Taking this chance, I dashed to the staff. It was tricky dodging his swipes; he almost nicked me a couple of times, but I was able to make it past him safely. With my staff in hand I was now able to be of real help to Dolph.

I ran past him once more, dodging his swings once again. The exit was just within reach. I was forcibly pulled by the collar of my shirt and slammed onto the ground in one swift motion.

“Did ya really think I couldn't smell ya wizard? And here I thought your kind was supposed to be smart." He got real close to my ear as he said that. His voice reverberated in the back of my aching head. “Now, Ethan said to make sure you were alive, ain't say I couldn't break a few bones. Been needing a new chew bone."

As he raised me off the ground, he reared his other claws back, while giving me a big toothy grin. But before he could strike at me, I smashed my staff into his crotch. A whimpering awoo escaped his lips as he dropped me to cover his jewels. Not taking a moment to rest, I pointed the tip of my staff at him and casted another spell into his crotch.

“ Gale's blast!" A gust of wind sent us flying back. I slammed into the nearby wall, bits of glass falling on my head, while Ven flew to the back door. A loud crash could be heard, but smoke covered anything worth seeing. Sadly, I didn't have time to check on him as Dolph was still fighting a two-v-one and needed my help.

“Dolph! Icy Pillar!" Racking my staff through the snow, a pillar of ice formed between the three, giving Dolph time to get away from Ethan and his friend.

Dolph ran back to me, dripping with blood. It was impressive that he was even able to stand. His body was riddled with claw and bite marks. With every breath he takes, blood drooled out of his maw. Yet he was able to stand on his own without any help. I wasn't even sure if the blood was entirely his or not.

“You good?" I asked, making sure not to take my eye off the opponent in front of me.

“Yes. Surprised you managed to win. Thought I would have to save you from him," his eyes were forced on Ethan. The two refused to take their eyes off each other.

“Yeah, well, I lucked out. We gotta find a way to take them out before- HEY!" I didn't even get a chance to finish as Dolph and Ethan lunged at each other. I didn't even have time to call him out as the other guy lunged at me.

I didn't have much time to react as his claws ripped my shirt apart, exposing my chest to the crisp winter air. He dashed back, giving me space, and licked my blood off his claws. After getting a taste, he bounced around like a kid who just got a new toy for Christmas.

“You know," he said this with an eerie calm. “When Ven told us he was going to bring you back, I had some doubts. Glad to know I was right," he let out a wicked laugh.

“Okay, Ross. We don't need to do this you know. I'm not really in the mood to fight you," I made sure to have my staff pointed at him at all times.

He stopped laughing just to stare at me, before getting down on all four.

“I didn't think you remembered my name. I feel honored. Shoot, almost feel bad for having to do this."

He then launched at me, but I was ready this time. With a quick flick up, the snow on the ground lunged in the air. “Snowy Shield!"

The snow erupted around us forming a snow wall, but did little to stop him as he plowed through it. Though luckily for me, he got halfway stuck in the wall. Before he could get out, I raised my staff behind me.

“Frost Reaper!"I swung my staff at him as snow formed around it, making it into an icy scythe.

In a panic, he mustered his strength to pull himself out of the wall, barely dodging my attack. Instead of it cleaving him in two, I was able to cut off part of his tail. He let out a ferocious cry as he looked at me. His bloodshot eyes made him look more manic than before as his smile only grew bigger and bigger.

“I'll try to keep you alive for Ethan, man seems really gun-ho about having a wizard under him. But I'm going have to pay you back first." as soon as he lunged at me, I erected another snow wall, this time being more prepared for his charges. The wall was able to keep him at bay as the sounds of him crashing into it like a cannon ranged out.

Looking over, I see Dolph trading blows with Ethan. Somehow, he was able to keep up with the larger werewolf. Ethan was struggling to keep up with his speed. Every time he lifted an arm, Dolph would immediately swipe at his exposed parts. Ethan struggled to hit him back, his broad strikes were easy for Dolph to dodge. Even when he tried to bite, the smaller wolf, Dolph was able to grab hold of his maw and quickly put him in a headlock. He soon slammed Ethan into the ground.

Dolph locked eyes with me, his blue eyes filled up with fear. “BEHIND YOU!"

A strong blow to the back of my head had me crashing into the snow below. The soft, crunchy snow helped cushion my fall, but the flat line ringing in my ear kept me regaining focus. A sharp pain was felt in my stomach as I was forceable rolled onto my back. Looking up, Ross loomed over me, his tail rapidly wagging behind him as he gave me a big, toothy grin.

“Oh, man, this was a real hoot Kert! Let's do this again after we deal with your troublesome friend." Gripping my staff, I tried lifting it up, only for Ross to kick it out of my hands. “Oh, sorry, buddy. Can't have you doing any more of those fancy tricks of yours."

Ross lifted me off the ground, then threw me into a nearby lamp post, knocking what little wind I had out. I struggled to get up; everything was hazy, and Ross splitting into three wasn't helping. Wait.

As Ross inched closer to me, a red blur had tackled him, pinning him to the ground. Looking over, I saw multiple Dolphs striking at Ross's duplicates. I looked in the snow for my staff. It was a few feet away from me. It took me a minute, but I was able to get my footing. Pointing my staff at the two, who have finally been made whole.

“Gale's Blast-!" Before I could finish, a fuzzy pam grabbed hold of my wrist, lifting me with ease off the ground with little ease. Looking back, I could see Ethan riddled with scars and dripping with blood. His happy demeanour was long gone, and in its place was a raging beast.

“Kert," his voice was deep and raspy. “I'm getting real tired of this. I'm trying to be a good person, yet you keep making me out to be the bad guy." His rapid twitching sent shivers down my spine. I wanted to look over to Dolph, but his deadpan stare kept me focused solely on him. “Look now, Kert. I don't wanna hurt you, but my boys," he looks over to Ross, who was completely overpowered by Dolph. The man had him out cold, lying in a pool of his own blood. And Ven was still nowhere in sight. “Well, they'll want some kind of recompense, so."

His grip on my arm grew tighter, causing me to let out a blood-curdling scream as he slowly digged his claws into me. His other arm kept my body straight as he slowly began to pull.

“Sorry, Kert. I would have done it more swiftly and painlessly, but you not only decided to fight back, but you also got that mutt to attack us. Think of it as added compensation to your toll."

He gave me a devilish smile, flashing his blood-soaked teeth on my face. God, I hate this. Too much pain prevents the flow of magic as I tried my best to contract my magic into my free hand.

“Ahh!!!" looking at Ethan's side, Dolph had sunk his teeth in the bigger wolf's stomach, causing him to let me go. Falling onto my sore arm had me wanting to cry out in pain, but I had no time for that instead, I grabbed my staff and jabbed it into Ethan's stomach.

“ Gale's Torrent!" A mighty blast of wind sent him flying a good distance away from us.

Dolph, not letting the opportunity escape him, charged forth and started clawing at Ethan's face. Looking around, I saw that everyone had left the area, leaving only me, Dolph, Ethan, and Russ. Not missing the opportunity, I raised my staff and began to swirl it.

“As the sun descends onto the Earth, and the Fire cleanses the way. Let the Water depart as the Air breaths in new life. Grant me the power to create and the power to destroy." Soon, the snow in the area began to melt as the winter temperature turned into a warm summer breeze. A bright ball of light emerged from the sky as it slowly descended upon both Dolph and Ethan. “Dolph, come over to me!"

Without a second thought, he dashed toward me, leaving a beaten-up Ethan in his wake. Once he was by my side, I erected another snow barrier in front of us. I couldn't help but let out a laugh as Dolph looked over the wall, probably to make sure Ethan didn't get up.

“You need to keep your head down if you don't wish to get caught in the blast," I said in a weakened state.

“You okay?"

Before I could even say anything a massive explosion roared out from in fort of the wall. The ground shook a little, scaring Dolph as he looked down at me. I just leaned on the wall, letting out a small chuckle as I fought to stay awake.

Once the street stopped shaking we looked over to see both werewolves passed out on the ground. Their clothes singed, and their bodies twitched with every second. As time passed, they remained on the floor, seeming like they weren't getting up.

With no time to rest, I made my way over to two wolves. First, Ross, I cast a quick binding spell. hopefully, this is enough till the cops get here.

With that done, I used what little strength I had left and plopped myself in front of the shop. Upon looking at the destruction I caused, it made me glad most people fled as soon as I was tossed out. I was in no mood to explain to anyone what transpired here. At least not till the cops show up. Dolph limped his way to my side before crashing out right beside me.

Taking a close look at him, I could see his wounds were deep, and he was bleeding all over.

“Soothing Breeze!" A cold air wrapped around the two of us as my staff spun around. “Thanks for the help, Dolph, and sorry for earlier. I shouldn't have snapped at you."

I couldn't really look the man in the eye as I held my knees to my chest. Fighting the urge to cry.

“It's fine," Dolph said as he let out a weak laugh. “I'm just happy you're not too badly hurt. You are not badly hurt, right?" He tried to stand up, but I think he had a few broken ribs as he grabbed his sides and whimpered in pain.

“I'm fine. For the most part, at least. What about you, you seemed to have taken on more damage than me." As I got up, I extended an arm to the injured beast. “Would you like some help up?"

He gladly took my hand as I helped him up. Giving him my staff so he could use it as a crutch, I looked at the store. It was completely destroyed. Tombs were scattered all over the floor, Books torn, potions destroyed, and in the back was a massive hole in the wall. Looking behind me, bits of glass were everywhere, and I wasn't sure how I wanted to even fix that. Shoot, I don't think I can fix it. I might need to call someone to replace the window as a whole.

“Do you want some help cleaning it up?"

The question had caught me off guard. Snapping me out of my daze. I just looked at the massive wolf; his innocent eyes met with my utter confusion. He knows I can clean this up, right? I don't need his help for this.

“Sure, let me show you where the broom is; you can start by sweeping up some of the stuff. I need to take inventory of what is still available and what I need to replace."

The sound of his tail wagging filled the air as we made our way into the store.
