Letter to Wife.
My first upload! Yay.
A poem I wrote as a Fan of a DnD thing. Yet I find it's meaning universal in a way.
My dear wife,
How do I say what I want to say?
For all the time we have been together,
Not a word can express the emotions I feel.
So I’ll say it plainly…
Your hair glows more brilliantly
Than the best-polished weapon,
More radiant than the sun
That beats upon the Delvarian Sands.
The way you cure ailments,
You are as a warrior on the battlefield.
Maneuvering around your herbs and bottles,
Wielding your salves like swords against sickness,
Your gentle nature,
As delicate as the plants in your garden,
Belie the strength of your beauty,
Which struck me harder than any spear thrust.
Your kindness and patience,
The capacity of which is deeper than
Any hole I could toss my berserkers into,
Gave me hope when I thought there was none.
And that hope, if it was ever lost,
Would wound me more than any war injury.
That hope, which I fear to lose,
Gives me the strength to fight a thousand wars.
You made my chest beat again.
