Central City Trilogy: Wishes - Blurb
Imported from SF2 with no description.
This work is a fanfiction based on the manga BEASTARS, specifically the first installment of the Central City Trilogy—Wishes.
The story takes place many years after the conclusion of the original series, so it may contain spoilers for the entire manga (BEASTARS + BEAST COMPLEX). However, it does not include the anime-original content. It’s recommended to read the original manga before diving into this work. While familiarity with the source material isn’t required to understand this story, it may enhance the experience. Additionally, some of the original setting’s inconsistencies or conflicts with natural laws have been adjusted for this narrative. Many years have passed, and a lot of things have changed. There are also many new original characters, and it will take quite some time to familiarize the readers with the setting. Therefore, this will be a very slow-burn story.
For readers unfamiliar with the original manga: this world is a society where all animals coexist, with each species retaining their natural characteristics. Essentially, it’s an anthropomorphic version of each animal, walking upright with limbs, hands, feet, and tails. All species of beast also possess sweat glands and tear glands, replacing any analogous features unless otherwise specified in the plot. Reproductive systems are similar to humans (to avoid complications for certain species, like birds). Flying creatures, such as birds and bats, have the innate ability to fly, defying physical laws as needed.
There are no humans in this world; dinosaurs are the common ancestors of all animals. Thus, references to “humans” have been carefully replaced with terms like “animals,” “beasts,” or “creatures” in an effort to remain natural (though this is more challenging in English translation).
The protagonist of this work is design based on myself, which makes the story feel somewhat personal. While the plot often leans into the fantastical or aligns with the original manga's settings, much of it is grounded in reality. When I wrote this story, Taiwan was experiencing some deeply discouraging events. One of my hopes in creating this tale was to provide empathy and comfort to anyone who needed it.
The geography and political landscape of this world closely resemble Earth, though the historical timeline has been slightly altered. To streamline the plot and avoid overly complicated discussions, references to real historical events have been significantly simplified, though I’ve worked hard to prevent misinterpretations. If any part of this story inadvertently offends someone from a particular culture, please don’t hesitate to point it out—I’ll take it to heart and make adjustments.
This work contains graphic and detailed depictions of violence and gore, likely to make “Railroad” seem like a casual field trip in comparison. Some depictions are tied to core themes, so I won’t provide constant warnings to avoid spoilers. However, I’ll flag more extreme instances when necessary—please keep an eye on the tags.
Finally, since translation software often refuses to handle explicit scenes, and the narrative style for such content can be difficult to access for non-native speakers, translating these parts has been particularly challenging. This story happens to include quite a few intimate scenes. If anything comes across as odd or awkward, I sincerely apologize for doing my best. Please don’t hesitate to point out any issues so I can address them directly.
Alright, let’s embark on this journey together. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.
