A ring of a automated door rang as a brown cat and a Light green cat departed from the pastry store, The sweet smell of sweets following with them. "Oh my gosh, Those were the best doughnuts i have EVER had!" Gulliver said with a beaming smile as he glanced over to the smaller feline.
"Right?! I told you i wasn't kidding when i knew the best baking shops in town!" Alice would say nudging his arm with a light hearted giggle. She looked up and pouted as she saw clouds forming in the sky, the once shiny city turning gloomy and cold. Alice sighed but looked up at Gulliver with a reluctant look on her face. "Well, It was a great time catching up with you, but it looks like it's going to rain and I really have don't want to get caught in it." She said shuddering in disgust, "I hate rain.."
Gulliver's smile slightly dropped before perking up again. "R-right, uh let me walk you home then!"
Alice would raise a brow with a teasing look. "Oh is that a demand or an offer?"
Gulliver's eyes went wide and a flustered covered his face. "O-oh! n-no! I-I wasn't trying to-"
Alice gave a snicker and would place her hand on her arm in a comforting matter. "Relax, Gulliver. I am just yanking your chain!" She said laughing. "You haven't changed a bit have you?"
Gulliver would reach into his pocket and pull out a tube which suddenly stretched and sprouted a water resistant top, his gaze averted from Alice's eyes which caused him to miss a yearning look in Alice's eyes. "S-sorry it's just, we just met again last week and I don't want to mess this up." Gulliver explained as he held the umbrella over their heads.
Alice suddenly locked his arm with his to get under the umbrella and she would scoff. "Oh please, We have been best friends since we were kittens! You have nothing to worry about , Tomcat."
Gulliver could swear he could of heard her purr while saying the last words and her grasp tighten, She looked down at her and Alice looked back up at him and motioned her head towards the side walk. "Come on, Be a gentleman and walk this girl home, won't ya?"
"O-oh right!" She said clearing her throat and starting to walk with her towards her apartment. As they ventured down through the city, rain started to dribble down onto the city, every step they took making water ripple on the concrete floor.
"Hey, Alice?" Gulliver asked and Alice looked up at him with a slight "Hmm?" and questioning expression and curious tilt of her head. "You know, I didn't mean to leave you back when we were teens."
Alice closed her eyes sadly and sighed before nodding. "Y-yeah I get it, You had to move for your family and to live your dream. I don't blame you, Gully." She reassured. "But...i just wish we had more time together...I missed you Gulliver."
Gulliver frowned and his head hang low. "I-I know you did. I missed you everyday too, you always brightened up my day and always stuck by me when i was too shy to talk to anyone." His voice turned solemn. "And i paid you back with abandoning you..."
the green cat gripped his arm and her expression turned stern. "Hey, hey! None of that now Tomcat. I am here now, Okay? I will always be with you and I know you will be there for me too..."
Gulliver's throat felt like there was something trapped in it. His words were caught like a bird in a cage and he didn't know what to say but his mouth started to move on it's own. "Alice, i lov-"
Suddenly, a gust of wind knocked the umbrella out of The Brown cats hand and he cursed under his breath. Like the world was kicking him when he was down, the rain started to pour down on them, Causing Alice to let out a scared yet adorable sounding squeak.
The male cat looked around frantically before pointing at the near by park. A Large gazebo that was perfect to hide under. "Hurry! let's head under there!" He instinctively grabbed Alice's hand causing her face to turn red as they rushed over for their safe haven.
As they reached their destination, Gulliver would let out amused laugh. "It had to be rain, huh?" Gulliver said panting a bit, his heart racing from almost slipping up and telling her then and there what he felt.
Alice chuckled and nodded, her arms wrapped around herself and shivering slightly. "Y-yeah..."
"O-oh! Hang on!" Gulliver said holding a finger up as if to make her pause before slipping out of his blue coat and leaning down to wrap it around her body.
"Here, This will keep you-" His voice trailed off as their eyes locked onto each others as he looked up. They were at eye level since he knelt down slightly and they were inches from their faces touching. "- warm..."
Alice started back, it was like the world slowed down to a crawl. Her beautiful green eyes, her adorable face, her hair slightly wet from the downpour...Everything about her was beautiful to him.
What was seconds felt like hours as they rain poured around them, his heart beat fast and it was calling for her, His best friend. No, That wasn't what she wanted to call her. He yearned for more and as if Their hearts connected, Alice placed her hands on his soft cheeks and leaned in and placed her soft lips on his.
His eyes widened and he instinctively pulled back but Alice didn't let go of the kiss causing her to almost stumble forward, Gulliver placed his hands on her hips to aid her and saw that her eyes were closed as she kissed him with vigor, her feet barely touching the floor as their height difference was more noticeable.
Gulliver's eyes slowly closed, feeling the warmth of her body against her as he began to kiss back just as hard as she was, A slight purr radiating from Gulliver. His hands started to caress her hips and it caused Alice to shiver slightly, it felt like they were the only two in the world and he didn't want this to end.
Alice was the one to finally break the kiss, a slight pant coming from her and her eyes filled with love and desire as he stared at him again before suddenly placing the side of her head against his chest, hearing his heartbeat for her.
"I love you too." She would whisper as she nuzzled into him, her grasp on him not letting up and Gulliver's eyes started to water and he placed his forehead against the top of her head, Tears of joy streaming down his cheeks as he held her like her life depended on it.
The clouds parted and the sun ray's shined through the cracks of them and onto him and his lover. Though she always shined to him and now they would shine together, as lovers.
