That said, the "Canid and Cervid are Lykou and Kuna from my friend Lloxie's story Mystic Heart Odyssey, and the Squirrel and "fox" are me and them :r3
The moonlight filtered through the forest's canopy, light trickling through to a small waterside cavern. The campfire had burned out and some of the cave's occupants lay huddled together for warmth in the corner, the canid's tail twitching slightly as he smiled and held his cervid companion close. A distance away near the other side of the cavern entrance, a vulpine and sciurid sat near eachother awkwardly glancing between eachother and their cuddling companions, both shivering a bit in the cold. "S..so-" they both began stifling a giggle and glancing over to make sure they didn't wake their companions.
"Shh!" The fox whispered. "So…," they continued, “don't they look comfortable?" They smiled, their tail twitching as they began to smirk playfully.
"W..well, yeah.." the squirrel mumbled, rubbing her arm awkwardly before hugging her tail. "What's your point?"
"Well, they don't seem too cold... and I don't know about you, but I'm freezing." Their tail wrapped around the squirrel and pulled her close, both blushing a bit as the fox pet the squirrel's head. "See isn't this better?" They whispered soothingly.
"Y.. yeah. Yeah it is. Thank you." Her face flushed red as she buried her face in the fox's fur. She mumbled something inaudible and the fox giggled, calmly petting and soothing the apparently exhausted squirrel in their lap who had started dozing off. They chuckled and leaned back, resting their eyes.
"Silly squirrel." they chuckled to themselves and dozed off.
