Humans are real!

In a parallel dimension, a dragon with a lot of wishful thinking really wants to believe their beloved fantasy creature do exist.

Humans. Probably the oldest, most popular mythological creatures in the history of dragonkind. From terrifying metal-skinned beasts to benevolent, light-hearted riders, they have captured our imagination for millennia.

But was it just imagination?

There was a time when our ancestors commonly believed humans were indeed real. That beyond the safe borders of our caves were indeed small, scaleless creatures on two paws roaming the Earth just like us. Dozens of historians and zoologists have extensively written about their encounters with a real human; and they are by no chance little-known names, but acclaimed, reliable ones like Fafnir, who in 3415 AD* wrote this piece in his most well known book, De Fieris Mundi:

"I was roaming around my inhabitation in a cloudy day, when all of a sudden appeared a small figure whose skin was grey and lucent. It stood on its rear paws, and one of its fore paws held a long stick that was grey and lucent as the skin. As our eyes met each other, the creature blabbed something about an object called “ring", and once I realized what it was I flew back to my home, knowing I was in danger, for it was nothing but a human."

Just as written words confirm their reality, so do all the various dragon cultures from around the world. Think about it: from Europe to China to America, humans play a role in all mythologies. Could it be a coincidence that they all had stories about them?

“But nobody has proven they exists! We have no fossils!" Wait for it! While it's true that it's very hard to find them (one of the most mentioned peculiarities of humans is their habit of burning the bodies of their dead kind: that would easily explain it), there have been significant occasions when mysterious skeletal remains very close to humans have been found. In 4531, in Central Europe, a skeleton was found, whose skull was incredibly short and whose bone structure was deemed by experts “unfit to support walking on four paws". All genetic analysis have failed to exclude the possibility it was indeed a human. And indeed, why not just admit it? :P

And if you're still not convinced, look at this pic taken in North America:

Therefore, myth and fantasy lovers, rejoice, because as you have seen humans are indeed real and roam among us!

Why then their existence hasn't been publicly admitted, despite all the evidence? I have some ideas. The first is that academics would never dare admit a myth can be real (they are much less open minded than they want us to believe). The second is that elder dragons governing us don't want to cause panic among their descendants. But to the comfortable lies I choose the flame of truth, and I will fight to spread it.
