It was the day before Valentine's Day and the candy maker Allan Brandan, a tall, toned golden jackal was concocting some special filings for some free samples he was going to give away on the next day, but as he was finishing he heard a voice behind him “I hope that is not a love potion", the canine turned around and saw his husband, Mark Fernandez, a muscular jaguar, he smiled and said: “it is not, it is the potion we shared on our first date, the one that helps you find your soul mate."

Mark relaxed, that potion was not that bad, it just nudges people together, but they have to work to keep the relationship functional, even with it helping with the decisions, the success was up to them, "Okay, but no home wrecking." Allan replied, "I wasn't going to do it anyways; I was going to give only to single people." They have had this talk many times, the reason why love potions are forbidden in their household, the ramifications of their use were unsettling enough, but this one just helps people find their best match, and not to mess with their heads and emotions, so this is seen as an ethical replacement.

"Tomorrow will be a very happy Valentine's day for a lot of people," Allan said, "I hope the people enjoy their candy".

On the next day, the candy, small chocolates filled with rose jam with the potion mixed in, was given away, a college student, Erick Hagen, a toned White-tailed deer, got into the university through an academic scholarship and shared a house with three other students, Eric and his housemates got some free samples of the local handmade candy store, and he was enjoying the candy during his class with his literature class.

After his class the deer decided to lunch at his home, as two of his housemates asked him to go there as they wanted him to be there, they had something to show him, the deer was stunned to see Kurt Addams, the college's quarterback, a tall and muscular bull, holding hands with Bryce Smith, his geeky housemate, a very slander ibex, and they were inches away from kissing, Erick just stared at the scene before watching, not quite processing the fact that one of the most handsome bachelors of college was in love with one of his housemates? He knew that he had at least one girlfriend although he recalled hearing at a college party a probably drunk Kurt admitting he was bisexual, but never had a chance to date a guy before, so that checked out, the deer thought and kicked himself about stereotyping people, he had got in trouble for it on high school, and he did not like the lapse, he was going to talk about it to the counselor later.

Looking at the kitchen, he saw another one of his housemates, Hibbert Ricci, the organized one of their littler quartet, a slim sparrow, was making out with Don Ryan, a member of their college gay fraternity, the muscular eagle was holding the sparrow tenderly while they kissed, again, he was surprised upon seeing the scene, as he knew they were crushing on each other, but he never expected them to be this attracted, he was surprised by the couples, but not disapproving.

Erick decided to talk with his remaining housemate, Jason Whitefield, a tall bulky lion, who, in contrast with the deer, came from a wealthy family, the lion being a bit sheltered, but a good person overall, he felt himself blushing as he remembered the lion, he politely knocked the door and when the door opened, the buck felt his heart flutter, as he saw the tall shirtless lion smiling at him, “Jason, why are you shirtless?" the lion grinned and said "lab accident, the one I was wearing is washing, and I just did not have the time to pick a new one yet" the deer nodded, but then he was surprised as Jason gave him a big warm hug, and Erick's heart begun to race, as the deer looked at the lion, both of them blushed, as they looked into each other eyes, they could not stop noticing how good they felt in each other's embrace.

“Wait" Erick started, “weren't you…?" “In a closet so deep I never noticed I was in there" Jason stated before taking the deer's chain and gently and leaning on it for a kiss, which the buck happily reciprocated, "Happy Valentine's day!" Erick said, with Jason Nodding, agreeing with his boyfriend.

Meanwhile at the local police station, Police officer Stan Gray, a German sharped, was a bit bummed down, as he had to work on Valentine's day and that doesn't have anyone to be with once his shift ended, he ate the candy that was sent to the station as a small comfort, he noticed both the police chief and commissioner were also eating the same candy as he was, he looked at the station's group chat, to the photos of his co-workers that either got a different shift or got the day off had time to be with their significant others, but something told him that things would get better soon.

The chief, Sergei Belyaev, a tall strong polar bear with a muscular body with just a bit of fat, just enough to help with his overall charm and his fatherly attitude towards the younger officers, and his paternal side seemed a bit more active than normal on that day, as for Commissioner Ian Hartfield, the stern Buffalo seemed to be a bit more attentive towards the other single officers, he was always a fair-minded man, but something seemed a bit more fatherly on that day.

At the end of his shift, he, the police chief and the commissioner left the station, as they had to stop working at that moment too, he met a wolf on his way home from the gym he usually goes to after work a couple of times per week, and there he met a firefighter rookie called Uriel Cross, a fit wolf, and after some talking they hit off, “Well, I don't know how this is possible, but I feel like really like you" admitted Stan, the wolf blushed, “I'm just out of the closet" he said “but I never thought I would find someone like you this soon, I feel like I want to be with you!" Stan blushed, feeling lighter, he invited Uriel to his apartment, so they could have dinner together.

As they arrive they see the other elevator opening, and they see Police chief Belyaev getting out of it with Stan's neighbor, Hans Aure, an athletic Ram, a literature teacher at the local college, holding hands, which caused the dog to gasp, making the two older men turn around, stare for a moment before the four men laugh for a bit, “Well… I did not expect that" Stan admitted, “my boss and my neighbor dating" Hans grinned at the comment and said “well we just met, but we hit off pretty well" Sergei then said: “we met at a bar, where I and Ian went for a quick drink before heading home" he then continued “this is where I met him and Ian seemingly reignited an old flame with a shark with a scar on his eye…" Uriel said, “Wait, are you talking about fire chief Martínez?" the grin on the older couple was all the answer they need but Hans pulled off his phone and showed them a photo of the two couples in the bar and there he was Fire chief Marco Martínez a hammerhead shark, with that scar above his eye and a sold built body, with his hand reaching for Commissioner Hartford, the two younger men smiled at the scene.

“Now!" Belyaev, “I think we should get in, Valentine's day is not going to last much more, and I did overhear your dinner plans", Stan and Uriel blushed and nodded before giving them a polite goodbye and each pair entered on one of the two apartments.

Early that day, Joshua Olivier, a part-time worker at Allan's candy store, the slander iguana worked there to help pay for his college tuition, he got a very good candy from his boss, a special one he made to celebrate Valentine's day, the reptile noticed how both the Mayor, a chubby walrus was in the store with his bodyguard, a Muscular condor, with both holding hands and seemed to flirt while they left.

Sometime later, Joshua clocked out to go to his classes, and on his way, he met Alois Dupont, a bulky stallion and the captain of the wrestling team, the two of them always had been civil towards each other, but that day, it felt different, they caught they stealing glances at each other, especially after they finished a candy Joshua's boss gives him to share, they found themselves blushing, the horse is the first one to get what is happening and said: “I don't know why, but, Josh, can you be my Valentine's?" “And maybe more?" the hopeful Joshua asked “And maybe more" confirmed Alois.

After their classes, the new couple stumbled on an odd scene: a somewhat distraught Coach Davidson, a muscular rhino, talking to two other teachers, Mr. Richards, the slender cardinal was petting him on the back while Mr. Aure was giving him something to drink, they noticed how the bird seemed oddly affectionate towards the pachyderm, they could overhear the coach weeping about only now coming to terms with being gay, and the other two, who have been openly gay, trying to help him to handle the situation, the two of them noticed three familiar warping papers on a nearby table, with the iguana making a mental note to ask what was on the candy, that he would ask about them on the following day, only to find out it was nothing to worry about.

The two young students decide to go for dinner together, with the two of them hitting off quickly, both of them find themselves falling for the other, and they feel good about it, the two promise to start dating seriously and went to their rooms, very happy about how their Valentine's day went.

Later, at night, Allan and Mark were scrying the town to make sure no candy fell into the hands of people who weren't supposed to go, to see how the new couples are doing at the end of their first day together.

“Well, it seems like the plan went on without any issues" Mark grinned “I'm glad it worked, yesterday's talk made me change the plans a bit, to make sure everything went well" Allan admitted, “I had to be very careful when giving the special candy away"

The couple grinned at each other, glad the day went smoothly, and how many new couples they united.
