Ever since their initial encounter at the dusty, old gym, Rocky and Ricky trained together at least twice a week there. Having a battle buddy helped the younger wolf boost his confidence and no one seemed to bother the pair while they were there. They sparred together, took turns when doing bag work, swapped with each other when using the mitts, and did any other exercises together when not throwing paws. It was as if the tiger and the wolf were in their own, little world whenever they met up to train and workout.

This day was no different. While they couldn't get a ring to spar in this time around, they agreed to focus on bag work today. Rocky was pounding away at the black, patchy heavy bag as Ricky watched. The white and grey wolf's blue Pokemon shirt became stained with his musk and sweat as he threw combo after combo at the bag.

As the grey and green-striped tiger watched, he also kept an eye on the clock high up on the wall they were using as a timer. "Okay. Time's up, bud," he said as the second hand ticked past the '12' on the clock.

Rocky let his arms fall to his sides and panted hard. His blue and white gloves began to feel much heavier than 16 ounces from slamming the bag for well-over an hour, and he had a brief moment of relief when he took one off to drink some water. It was getting to that point in their workout where he was beginning to feel extremely exhausted.

"Ya tired?" The tiger asked as he noticed how tired Rocky looked, but gave him a reassuring grin.

He let out a deep breath. "Yeah...whew!" He began to take off his other glove. "How'd I do?"

"I think your power's getting there. You definitely have the stamina and speed, for sure; better than me, honestly."

Rocky chuckled as he panted. "How many rounds did we do, you think?"

"About...ehhh, probably twelve, at least. I lost count after two." He shrugged as he began to undo his orange wraps.

Rocky followed suit and unwrapped his white wraps. "How are you feeling after this, bud?"

Ricky took out his glasses and put them on, tossing his wraps and gloves in his bag. "I know my punching power is...decent, but could be better. My stamina is what kills me, though...that's always been a struggle for me."

The wolf frowned as he finished packing up. "You'll get there, champ. I know you can."

"Thanks." He smiled as he slung his bag on his shoulder. Even though he, too, felt hot and musky, that didn't prevent his cheeks warming when Rocky said that.

"Anytime, bud," he said as he gave the tiger a quick but tight hug, not caring at all they were both sweaty and musky.

Ricky wrapped an arm around the wolf. "Hey, save it for the showers, why don't ya," he cooed.

"You mean...you can get away with that stuff here?" He asked as they walked back to the locker room.

"Just gotta keep quiet about it. Unless you'd rather shower at your place or at mine," he teased.

Now Rocky was the one feeling warm in the cheeks, letting out a nervous giggle at what the tiger said.

Once they made it to the locker room and stripped down to their musky undies and grabbed their towels, Ricky went in the first available shower he could find. Thankfully, there weren't too many others in the locker room. In fact, no one was in the showers at all. It became clear as to why once he noticed a laminated sign taped to the inside of the shower:

Showers are not working and are temporarily out of order.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

"Hey Rocky?" He said as he turned back towards the wolf.

"Yeah, bud?"

"We might have to clean up elsewhere after all. I know you aren't exactly a fan of going home feeling all gross after a workout..." His ears drooped a little as he relayed the news.

"It'll be okay," he sighed, grabbing his yellow shorts, "I can stand being a little musky for a bit longer, I suppose."

They both started changing back into their workout clothes when a familiar figure came in the locker room. He was slightly taller than Ricky, but much more built, and only wore dark blue shorts with a red sash that resembled samurai clothing. His coarse fur was black, save for the white markings on his chest, abs, and face, and had dark red eyes. But despite his frightening appearance, the werewolf grinned and hugged both of them tight one after the other. "Hey you two! Didn't know you guys came here!"

Ricky let out a mewl and a chuckle when Dark hugged him. "We...didn't know you came here either."

"Yeah. I decided to check this place out and it's got everything! Well, I mainly focus on the weights when I come here and not so much to hone my fighting skills. That stuff I can just do in the woods around my cabin anytime I want, plus I'd feel bad if I severely hurt someone by accident. But, yeah, you guys should try out some of the weights if you haven't. I did this super set of 110 to 150 pounds on the..."

As Dark rambled on about his crazy workout that left both Rocky and Ricky agape, his fuzzy wolf tail wagged so hard it was slamming against the lockers behind him. Eventually, he finished rambling, much to the pair's relief.

"Well, that's um...yeah, I...I couldn't do all that," Rocky replied with a nervous chuckle.

"Same here," replied Ricky, much in the same manner.

Dark just grinned as his tail kept wagging. "So I take it you two are heading out?"

"Yeah. The showers aren't working, for some reason," Ricky replied, "So we were just gonna head straight home."

"Showers not working, huh? I'm sure you two could use some nice relaxation after your workout; I know I do, for sure." He massaged his shoulder as he rolled it, feeling that good kind of soreness one would get after a good lifting session.

"Well, what did you have in mind?" Rocky asked.

"You two should come over and hang out!" Dark replied, "There's a nice, little lake near my place that's pristine and calm. It's the perfect spot to relax on a hot day like today."

"Sounds lovely! Ricky! We should go!" Exclaimed Rocky as his tail began to wag a little too.

"Okay, okay, ya goof." Ricky scritched the top of the wolf's head, then looked up at Dark. "So, should we just head to your place and go from there?"

Dark nodded. "I can text you the address for my cabin, but the lake is in a very private location. It's so private that it rarely gets any other visitors, aside from the wildlife."

"Huh..." Ricky pondered the thought for a second then shrugged. "Guess we'll find out when we get there."

"You two will love it. Trust me." Dark then got his things out of his locker and slammed it shut. "See you two at the cabin. Let me know when you're almost there, alright?"

"Of course," Rocky replied.

"We'll let you know when we head out and if we run into trouble," replied Ricky.

The two finished packing their belongings, again, and emptied out their lockers once Dark left. They both chatted about what the lake and Dark's cabin will be like this time of year as they headed out of the gym and to Ricky's car. Rocky was more than willing to be navigator and to let Dark know where they are as Ricky would drive. Thankfully, the cabin didn't seem too far away, though a good couple hours at best. But there was one thing on both of their minds right now they needed to take care of first, and it always happened after they worked out together, and that was food.

* * *

It took them longer than anticipated to reach the cabin, as Ricky did not plan to drive along a winding road through the woods that seemed to go for miles. They eventually reached a turn that took them along a dirt road, which felt narrower and just wide enough for his car to pass through without hitting anything. The last leg of their journey wasn't made easier with the random bumps and potholes that jostled the car as it passed over them. At least this last stretch didn't wind around constantly and took them on a relatively straight path.

After what felt like an eternity driving through the woodlands, they made it to their destination, so they hoped. But those thoughts of feeling lost were gone as soon as they saw Dark come outside to greet them. Unlike before at the gym, the werewolf was completely naked, though a patch of fur covered up where his gonads would be.

Ricky and Rocky got out of the car, though they both immediately took their shirts off as soon as they stepped out of the car.

"Man! It's so hot out," the tiger complained as he stepped outside, tossing his musky, sweaty shirt on the driver's seat.

"Ugh, tell me about it," Rocky commented, tossing his shirt in the passenger seat, "That A/C felt so nice."

"Hey you two!" Dark shouted as he waved, tail wagging. "Why don't you two keep your bags in here and then I'll show ya to the lake."

Ricky nodded and the two grabbed their bags from the car. Both of them began to pant a little just from the heat as they walked toward the cabin.

Dark held the door open as they stepped inside. "You can just toss those by one of the couches over there," he said as he pointed, "And you might as well keep any personal stuff here too; you won't need all that where we're going."

"But what if we get lost or one of us gets hurt?" Rocky asked.

"Don't worry, buddy. I know exactly how to get there safely, plus I have healing and teleportation powers!"

"Ooooooo." The wolf went a bit wide-eyed and wagged his tail a little. "You should show us!"

Dark chuckled and ruffled Rocky's head fur. "When we get there."

Ricky chimed in. "You should see what I can do, Rocky."

"Oh yeah?" Rocky immediately turned to face the tiger. "You do know that I know you can turn into a weretiger, right?"

"Well, yes, but there's another. I don't get a lot of opportunities to show it off, though, but I have much more control over it than the uh...other guy." He looked away a bit and blushed.

Rocky hugged the tiger, who immediately hugged back. "It's okay, bud. You're wonderful the way you are."

Ricky chuckled. "Thanks."

Suddenly, both of them were squeezed tighter together by two large, muscular, black, fuzzy arms and a pair of fuzzy, black and white pecs pressed against both their faces. "You two are adorable," Dark commented as he encased them.

Ricky mewled as his tail flicked irritably. "Gah! It's too warm in here for this," he complained as he tried to wiggle out of the wolves' grip. He gasped and straightened his hair back when he got free. He took a moment to breath before he spoke again. "So...I think we should get going before we burn any more daylight."

Dark then let go of Rocky after Ricky slipped out of their hugging session. "Actually, the night life at the lake is gorgeous as well," he mentioned.

He put his paws on his hips and sighed, shaking his head; though Ricky did so in a more sarcastic manner. "Well what the heck? I could've picked up a grill, some meat, and some booze and we could've had ourselves a nice, little barbecue."

The werewolf just stared at him blankly, somewhat taken aback. "I'm...sorry?"

"Kidding, kidding," he reassured the werewolf as his arms relaxed.

"Oh...well, we should get going then, I suppose." He half smiled as he stepped aside to let the two back outside. Though when he was about to open the door, he stopped for a second. "Oh! I don't suppose you two have any swimwear on ya, by any chance?"

They both shook their heads.

"I mean...we could just skinny dip," Rocky replied with a nervous chuckle.

"True," replied Dark, "Though I'm sure you two don't want to be wearing your musky jockstraps once you take them off."

"Good point," replied Ricky, immediately starting to slide his shorts off along with his jockstrap. Rocky soon did the same too.

Dark just facepawed in response, slowly sliding his paw off his face after waiting a while to check if they were decent. "You can wash your clothes when we get back. Just don't put those on any furniture, please."

"Sure," Rocky replied. Both Ricky and Rocky quickly put their jocks in their bags and headed towards the opened door of the cabin.

Dark closed the door to the cabin behind him, locking the few locks on the other side by gliding his finger down the top half of the door's edge. Once everything was locked up, he went ahead of Ricky and Rocky to lead the way to the private lake. And as he did, the wolf and the tiger got a nice view of Dark's toned, muscular ass the whole way there.

The hike to the lake didn't feel as long as the trip to the cabin, despite travel methods being vastly different. While the tall trees above them blocked most of the sun's heat during their journey, the hot air collected under the canopy made them pant just as hard as they did back at the gym. Both Ricky and Rocky were glad they had a chance to rest their legs during the two-hour car ride before this hike, given the uneven terrain and numerous hills they had to traverse. Of course, Dark didn't seem like he slowed down at all, but was generous enough to do so if either of them needed to catch up.

Eventually, they made it to the shoreline. When they did, the sun's rays and heat beamed down on them much more, but the constant breeze helped cool them down. The lake was mostly lined with a grassy and muddy shore with branches and sections of tree trunks scattered about or dipping into the water, making it appear as if a huge wind storm came through here. There was also a wooden dock that seemed to serve as a path running along one section of the lake, though there were no railings along its edges. The ground below it appeared quite sunken down and littered with jagged rocks and twigs.

"Well, here we are, boys!" Dark exclaimed as he presented the lake to them with a paw. "It's not much, but it's an excellent spot to retreat to just to relax or meditate."

"This is so cool, Dark," commented Rocky as his tail gently wagged behind him.

"Damn...wish I had brought my camera," said Ricky, resting his paws on hips and taking it all in.

Dark chuckled. "I suppose it'd be a good spot for photos too."

He shrugged. "I'm just a sucker for good shots of waterscapes, really."

"So you said this is a good spot to relax, huh?" Rocky chimed in. "Though...is it safe?"

"For?" Dark replied.

"To take a dip in the lake. It's no shower, but better than nothing, right? I feel quite musky right about now, and not the good kind," he said with a nervous chuckle.

Dark smiled, petting the wolf's head. "Hardly anyone comes here, bud. This place is so far-removed from society, there's really no way for it to get polluted or littered."

"That's...rare, nowadays," Ricky commented.

"I'll say..."

Dark pulled the wolf into a hug with an arm, holding him there. "So, yeah, don't worry about getting hurt or anything if you want to take a dip in the water. I can show you guys the perfect spot too, if you'd like. The shoreline eases in nicely and the ground underneath is mostly sand and mud, so no sharp rocks or shell fragments poking your pads."

"I'd love to get in on that soon, but you two can go ahead; I'll join you guys later." He waved a paw for them to go, then looked around at this rare, preserved, natural wonder. "I wanna explore this place a bit."

"Let me guess? Kitty doesn't like getting wet?" Dark teased.

The tiger turned his head towards Dark, giving him that 'oh you' look. "Unlike some cats, tigers like the water."

The canines giggled as they embraced, with Rocky's tail still wagging behind him.

"Well, feel free to join us whenever then," said Dark, "You two are free to stay here as long as you'd like."

While Ricky went off to explore more of the lake on his own, the two wolves went off to a part of the shore that gradually merged with the water. When they found a spot that was just right, Dark immediately began wading into the water. Rocky, however, had to slide his shorts off, though made sure Dark wasn't looking his way as he did so.

For as long as he's known the werewolf and for how close their friendship is, Rocky always thought it odd how much he didn't like nudity, yet Dark himself was nude majority of the time. "Well...as long as nothing awkward happens I'm sure it'll be alright." Rocky then waded into the lake himself, immediately noticing how cold the water was, despite the warm, summer air. "Shit that's cold!"

"Ya doing okay, Rocky?" Dark asked as he looked back, already waist-deep in the water.

"Y-Yeah, it's just a little...cold is all."

"Just jump in! You'll get used to it in no time!" He shouted back as he waded further and further into the lake.

Rocky took a few steps back and stood there for a moment, taking in and letting out a deep breath. He then ran towards the shoreline and into the shallows, splashing water everywhere with each step until he was about knee-deep in it. "Oh my god this is COLD!"

Dark turned back, at first worried but then noticed Rocky still treading deeper and deeper in the lake to join him. "Yeah! That's it, bud!" He cheered.

Slowly but surely, Rocky made his way closer and closer to Dark. His fur was completely wet by this point as his body adjusted to the slight cold shock. Eventually, he was right next to the taller werewolf, who was just about chest-deep in the water while Rocky was about shoulder-deep.

Once Dark noticed the smaller wolf standing next to him in the water, he gave him a tight hug, then lifted him up and out of the water, only to have him splash back down in it.

"Agh! Why you--" Rocky retaliated and tried to shove the larger werewolf into the water.

"Grrr, that all you got!"

While the two wolves were play wrestling with each other in the water, Ricky finds them after exploring the nearby area. He just smiled and giggled when he saw them, and was fairly certain neither of them realized he was there.

But then he had an idea.

He quickly slid his shorts off and lined himself up to where the two wolves were play fighting. Digging his feet into the soft, shifty sand, he quickly got a feel for the fine, granular earth beneath his feet. "I hope this works. Bending sand is so weird." He then sprinted towards the shore, but rather than just running in like Rocky did, he stomped down hard to bring up a solid chunk of compacted sand to launch him high in the air. As he flew, he quickly hugged his legs into a cannonball position.

*SPLASH!*

Both wolves immediately stopped play fighting as soon as they were splashed by the tiger's cannonball.

"The hell was that?" Rocky asked.

"Hey you dorks," Ricky replied as he resurfaced, brushing his wet hair back. He suddenly hugged himself a bit. "Brrr...Shit, this water's cold."

"Tell me about it," Rocky said.

"You'll get used to it," Dark chimed in. He then noticed the small, angled sand formation close to the shore. "Hey, did...you just do that?" He asked as he pointed towards it.

Ricky nodded. "How do you think I launched myself all the way out here?"

"Impressive," he replied.

"You should show us more, kitty!" Rocky exclaimed.

"Eventually," he chuckled, "Right now, I just wanna relax and just...be in the water." He then waded away from the two wolves and suddenly submerged, only to resurface immediately after.

Rocky followed the tiger and hugged him from behind, even if they were both nude.

"Awww, hey you," Ricky cooed as he looked behind him.

Rocky just rubbed his cheek against the tiger's back, but then suddenly tried lifting him up and out of the water as if he was going to suplex him.

"Woah!" Ricky flailed a bit at Rocky's attempts to toss him. "Oh! Is that what you wanna do now, huh?"

The tiger and the wolf began to play wrestle in the water now. Meanwhile, Dark just watched them go at it, shaking his head and giggling. "You two really are adorable," he said, more to himself.

Dark noticed the sun lowered slightly in the sky, though not quite so low that it was sunset yet. Then he felt a low gurgle in his stomach, not realizing how much of an appetite he worked up dealing with the wolf and the tiger. "Huh...Maybe I should've asked them to bring a grill and some meat with them," he murmured. He then called out to them. "Hey guys!"

Ricky and Rocky kept going at it, totally ignoring Dark.

"Guys!"

Again, complete ignorance as they splashed around.

"HEY IDIOTS!" He shouted, loud enough that several groups of birds from the forest behind them flew off.

"Hey, no need to shout at us," Ricky retorted.

"Clearly I had to to get your guys' attention."

Ricky just scoffed and shook his head.

"Anyway...I'm letting you know I need to head back to the cabin quick to pick up a few things. You two staying here for a while, I take it?"

They both shrugged. "Probably," Rocky replied.

"Good," he said, beaming at them. He then turned around, waded a few steps towards the shore, then blinked away in a bright, white flash.

"Pfft, showoff..." Ricky said, irritably.

"What?" Rocky asked, looking up at the tiger.

He looked to where Dark was and waved a paw in that direction. "Eh, nothing..." He too noticed it was slowly reaching sunset and wondered how long they've been out here. Like with Dark, he too felt a slight hunger in his belly. "Whew..." he said, grinning at Rocky, "I don't know about you, but I've worked up one hell of an appetite from all that."

Rocky noticed his own hunger as well. "Oh for sure."

"Guessing Dark is getting stuff for that right about now. Wanna get out of the water for a bit and put our pants back on?"

"No," Rocky replied bluntly.

"Okay, bye." Ricky then waded back to the shore, but it wasn't too long until he heard Rocky splashing his way behind him. As soon as the young wolf was next to him, Ricky pulled him in a side headlock and dragged him through the water all the way to the shore, not once feeling his captive resist. Of course, he knew Rocky didn't mind this at all.

Right when they both made it to the sandy shore, Ricky let go of his captive. When they were about to grab their shorts off the ground, a flash of bright, white light shone behind them for a fraction of a second. "Well, looks like Dark's back," Rocky commented.

Dark never said a word when he teleported back to the beach, especially since he was greeted with a nice view of a dark grey wolf ass and a light grey and white tiger ass. Instead, he casually began setting everything up, but couldn't help but bite his lower lip as he noticed the toned definition of the wolf's and tiger's backsides before they put their shorts back on.

* * *

The fire they set up burned lively and bright. Since Dark didn't own a grill, they had to cook their meal camping style. Of course, this gave the werewolf an opportunity to show off his magic powers more, since he instantly ignited the fire without any use of a tinderbox or fire starters. The dry, burning wood was also surrounded by a makeshift fire ring Ricky had set up with his earthbending by compacting the sand so much they formed back into large rocks.

Bellies full and fully relaxed, Rocky cuddled up next to Dark as Ricky sat there looking around and taking in the night scene of the beach. The sun had nearly set behind the trees, slowly transitioning the sky from a light pink to a dark purple. Near the lake itself, the sky was more black as the stars in the sky showed themselves, and the only significant light source was the warm, orange glow of the fire.

The local fauna of the night revealed itself as well. Crickets and frogs chirped and croaked to break the overall silence of the night. Every so often, an owl's hoot or a loon's call could be heard in the distance. Even some of the more nocturnal fishes in the lake could be heard swimming and splashing about as they went on with their nightly activities. And the warm, crackling fire gave off enough smoke to keep any mosquitoes or gnats that took an interest to the beachgoers.

All three of them sat in the still yet noisy night of the lake for a moment until Dark broke the silence between them.

"So, Rocky," he began, petting the wolf's head, "You still getting picked on at the gym?"

Rocky sat up, rubbing his eyes a little. He sighed as he looked at the fire. "Not as much anymore. It is harder if I go by myself, but having Ricky with me helps me ignore any looks I might get."

"That's good. That's good," he said, rubbing Rocky's shoulder.

Ricky just smiled and chuckled when he heard Rocky say that.

"Hey! So long as you get some training in, it shouldn't matter what others there think of you, right?"

"I suppose." He then went back to leaning and cuddling against the werewolf, sighing a little.

"Awww, what is it, bud?" Dark asked, trying to comfort his fellow canine.

"I just...worry if all this training will be worth it...you know?"

"It totally will be, dude!"

"I'm just...not sure if I'm cut out to be a boxer or anything."

"Hey," Ricky chimed in, "You've been doing amazing and getting better and better every time we go. You're really starting to show off some power when we go over those drills."

"Yeah but...I'm not the best when it comes to sparring."

Ricky clenched his jaw. He hated to admit it, but Rocky was right on that; their sparring sessions together seemed to be touch-and-go, regardless of how many times they've done so.

"Look..." He began, "I will admit that, no, you're not the best when it comes to sparring. BUT," he held up a paw so Rocky wouldn't retort, "There's been a few times you've woken me up and got me to think twice about what I was doing. I can't count the number of times you got me pretty good in the ribs or square on my nose that I didn't realize how hard you hit me until I got home."

Rocky giggled, looking at the tiger. "I'll knock you out cold one day, kitty."

"Good! Because I want that to happen," he retorted with a hint of sass.

That got the wolf to smile as he still cuddled up against the werewolf.

Ricky giggled at how cute Rocky looked before turning his attention to Dark. "So, how long have you been working out at our gym again? I don't think I've asked ya."

Dark stretched his arms and shoulders out, then went back to coddling Rocky. "Um, about a month and a half, I'd say. It was tricky trying to find the right one for me. Either the environment didn't feel too friendly, especially to someone like me being...well, a werewolf, or they just didn't have what I was looking for. Then I checked out the one you guys go to and, overall, it felt like a nice fit for me to get my pumps in." As he said this last part, he flexed one of his thick biceps to show off for a brief moment. "Plus the membership cost seemed to be the best deal for what's offered, even if it is a little pricier than some of the others I visited."

"It's why me and Rocky go there, that and there's all the fighting equipment we could use to our hearts' content, even if we mainly work on boxing."

"Should give the weights and cables a try sometime, eh?"

Ricky shrugged. "Eh, I did for a while starting out in between training sessions, at least to keep my muscles going and in-check. But now that me and Rocky here have been training more often, personally...I don't see a need to anymore."

Dark smiled. "Makes sense. Hitting those bags enough times builds up muscle anyway, right?"

"For sure! Plus it's fun as hell!"

As the two talked, Rocky was still cuddled up against Dark. Between the fire crackling, the ambiance of the night life, and as the voices from the other two slowly becoming low drones, he was half asleep and struggled to stay awake. Having such a busy day didn't help either, as he so desperately wanted to spend as much time as he could with Dark. But as he laid against the werewolf's course and thick fur, the young wolf eventually succumbed to sleep and curled up in Dark's lap.

The other two noticed this and figured it was getting late enough that they should return to the cabin. After Ricky made sure the fire was put out fully and all of Dark's camp cooking supplies gathered, the werewolf teleported all of them back to his home so they wouldn't have to walk back in the dark forest. This woke Rocky up a bit, but the wolf fell right back asleep as he was carried inside. Dark then gently laid him on one of the couches and covered him up with the blanket that was draped over the top. Ricky figured he'd take the other couch for the night and stretched his limbs out as far as he could before curling up on the soft cushions.

As the two slowly drifted to sleep, Dark tried to keep quiet as he opened the door to the cabin. Quietly closing and locking it the same way as before, he went off to one of his many "sacred spaces" he developed for meditation. While this is a magical and amazing experience he'd love to share, it was also something personal for him. But there's always tomorrow, or the next time Ricky and Rocky want to visit; he could always use the company in his secluded, humble abode.
