This was my submission for writers' crossing's 2022 march writing prompt. i don't know how i cranked this out as quickly as i did, though having a smaller limit on length than usual might've helped. this one's for anyone who's had to suffer in retail.

The idea just came to more a day after the challange was posted, but i think it went off somewhere while i was writing it. all well, the idea still started this story, so its still a writing prompt.
